- Not only does Ohio produce good football teams, and lots of intrigue during election season, but it's the place a pretty unique and unknown chicken breed calls home. The Buckeye is a great utility breed that will provide you with plenty of eggs, decent meat and plenty of conversation starters.

Broodiness: If you're lucky, or unlucky (depending on your preference)
Egg Size: Medium
Egg Color: Brown
Cold Tolerant: Yep.
Heat Tolerant: Not too shabby.
Free Range: They forage so well they even get the field mice!

Just ordered me some speckled Sussex and buckeyes! I'm hoping to breed them for meat and eggs and just as a hobby
Omg there face look like a falcon they are cute .... Don't forget i want to see turkens and vorwerk chickens ... Oh there's this other one I'll figure out the breed it hard to remember.
Ok ok ok i just remembered they are called the orloff chickens they look kinda like the sussex chickens those are the 3 breeds i Will have when I get a house 🏠 who know when lol 😅

At what age can they be sexed? I have 3 at 18 weeks, but I am unsure if there’s a rooster in there.
I'm not 100% sure... Our first batch we ended up with just girls. I've got a few now at 8 weeks and I think I can spot the difference now, but I'm not certain.
