I love Barred Plymouth Rocks! They are great for meat, egg laying and some of them go broody and are the greatest setters and mothers. I have had them hatch pheasant, duck, goose, bantam eggs, and raised them all to maturity. And of course, a couple of broodies will give you an entire flock of barred rocks for free!
We have 13 that are 1 week old. They are in a storage bin in our living room. They are already flying up and perching on the top edge, if the top is left off. I will be building a 12 x 16 coop this weekend for them Thanks for sharing and letting us see what to expect.
