Minoxidil seems to have a oxidation fail rate at about 6 months. It might not be you, it might be the fact that your minoxidil has been exposed to air too much. Try a new bottle before you give up.
You gotta block the DHTs. Minoxidil will grow hair it’s good at that but if there’s too much DHTs attaching the hair it will recede again. Gotta use Finasteride with Minoxidil it’ll block those DHTs not all of them but most of it so you can keep the hair.

You just may not be a responder to Minoxidil. Everyone responds differently to it and like Matt says if your body doesn't convert minox to minox sulfate you'll never see any results. Try topical, if you still don't respond then I say toss it, minox is not for you. Dutasteride and Finasteride don't necessarily regrow hair their main purpose is to slow your progression of hairloss to maintain the hair you already have.
This video was incredibly informative! However, women with AGA are not recommended to take finasteride and are often prescribed minoxidil alone. What supplementary or additional treatments with anti-androgen effects would you advocate for in these cases?
I would love to see the results of someone who has been using a combination of treatments (minoxidil, finasteride, microneedling, ketoconazole shampoo, etc) for a long time, maybe 5-10 years+. It seems like most posts online describe results for people within 2-3 years of starting a particular treatment.

I think he plateaued because he continued using it. I think he should cycle the use, maybe a couple of weeks or a month of using rosemary oil with micro needling. The go back to it so the hair doesn't get a chance to completely adapt. If you eat the same meal every night you eventually get fed up with but if you mix it up you body doesn't get tired of it.
I just got back from the Dermatologist I was diagnosed with male pattern baldness he prescribed me 3 month supply of 1mg Finasteride to take daily but I cut them in half to start with .5 mg see how my body reacts, I also bought me some foam Minoxidil I’ll be using that 1 once a day and micro needling once a week, I’ll see how it goes if anything I’ll just accept the bald look And focus on other areas in my life I have control over.

I been using Minoxidil Foam for about 4 years and I notice the effectiveness is going away. Just got my prescription for 1mg of Fin and hopefully I do not get any sides.
I unfortunately had to stop minoxidil as it caused neuropathy for me. Very scary. But finesteride I never had any sort of side effects at all. You can take it with or without food. I take it every morning without food. No side effects. I’ve been on for 7 months
So is it even worth starting minoxidle if it has diminishing returns at such an early point? Won’t you then have to continue to use minoxidle even though you’re losing hair again? Yes you can use finasteride but I’m talking about the hairs gained through minoxidle but then being lost due to deminishing returns
It's hard to say. But in this example we know no dht blockers or androgens antagonists were not used at all. Usually to Increase minoxidil efficacy microneedling, retinol and tretnoin can be included I get mine from minoxidilmax.
If you use manoxidil and see results you MUST keep taking it to keep the hair gains. I made the mistake of stopping manoxidil when I discovered hair fibers and lost a lot of hair. It was awful. Now I'm back on the manoxidil with saw palmetto (instead of finasteride) and hair is looking better.
@@robd7934 I get that but what I’m saying is that in a relatively short space of time the minoxidle stops working but we still have to use it. It’s expensive and a pain sometimes. I’m asking is it even worth it on the long run. Short term gains vs long term pain
10% minoxidil is underrated as hell. Need a video on men who couldn’t gain good or stagnated in the 5% journey and then made the move to a full beard with 10% ! Serious Stuff
Based on my anecdotal evidence i tend to agree. I've "wasted" over a year applying Kirkland minoxidil foam on my beard for well over a year and honestly i couldn't really see much of a diff. I later tried %15 and after a few months my beard was really coming in, my aunt even asked me "did u always have such a developed beard?". Keep in mind im 36 and around 28 is my natural beard growth stagnated so i dont think this is from 'natural maturing'. Anyhow, im now on oral minoxidil 5mg and its going great, thr reason since I got fed up of applying that crap on my face and scalp every day, plus applying minox on beard really really interefered with my skin care routine, i don't recommend anyone to use oral minox before consulting a doctor so use at ur own risk. P. S. I would never use %15 minox for scalp because that crap is greasy and takes a long time to dry and theres no way id wanna do that for the rest of my life, but for beard u essentially only use it for 1-2 years and not for life so its a try for those of u that stagnated with %5 solutions. As for now while being on oral minox ill keep monitoring with my doctor every few months and if theres any cause for concern ill switch back to topical.
Very nice graphics. Did not know that. How is the effect of microneedling? Promoting growth? I started it and minoxidil a month ago. Only finasterid is missing where I want to start at 0.25.
can i just do finasteride? my doctor said I should just do finasteride as he said I do not have intense hair loss just yet. He said it should even reverse a bit the hair I already lost. That said, I am pretty sure combining the two would be better no? Can i start with just finasteride and then maybe like 4 months in I can add minoxidil or will I have lost the peak period to have done both by then?
I feel like they keep telling ppl to focus on the dht part only and to use finasteride when progesterone is the naturally occurring hormone in most bodies, both female and male, and is a natural dht blocker. Like derms suggest surface solutions instead of getting to root problem which may be insulin resistance/estrogen dominance and low progesterone
Exactly that is why older near menopause when the female hormones drop - the hair loss gets worse. In Insulin Resistnace PCOS with hair loss number one they have the hair loss gene and number 2 - SHBG in their body drops which usually binds to free tesosteorne to stop it being active in the skin and hair follicles.... so they start thinning. For me losing weight, starting metformin, low carb diet, exercise, reduces hair loss or slows it down but wont stop it completely and now that I am in late 40s.. its getting worse as my Progesterone is getting lower. I am on spiro and soon Oral minoixdil but worry about migraines as i get those with aura.
I used it almost 4 years after losing almost all my hair on top at age 18 years.. Now I'm 32 years old, and only now again it has been catching up on getting thin again.. So going to make a other run and make some updates.. I also added finasteride its important to keep the gains.. So its possible..
At first I had some shedding 8 to 6 weaks ago.. I know from the past its a good sign.. Regrowth of my bolding spots in front I don't see right now.. But the smal hairs get thicker, I watched back some pictures.. It seems to do the trick again, only this time ik keep using Finasteride, monoxidil and a derma roler once a week.. @@zinzhao8231
I make a short video iff you guys need it.. I'm in month 8 now.. Even forgetting the monoxidil routine 3 times a weak most of the time in the last 2 months.. Finasteride still strong, never forgot that one.. I have captured the starting point with some photo's.. Its again a suc6 story.. And I think the fullness from month 6 till now.. If there was no reaction on this post I possibly forgot about how thin in was last winter.. I now even apply the monoxidil on my beard line..
Minoxidl and all these treatments don't work forever. And then eventually you're left worse off. It's why there are so many bald people walking around.
Minoxidil was only good at the time it came out, it's really not effective and it is temporary, the only choice is Fin or Dut, choose one of them, that's it
bro i am stressed i used a brand called bunee which had minoxidil and i got heart palpitations,,i was thinking of trying rogaine foam wonder if i will experince the same
It's very simple .....you can't just do one thing if you want to density to your hair ...i recommend minoxdil/ finasteride topical ( stay away from oral finasteride ..if you do use it you don't need 1 mg a day as side effects are common which I didn't like when I took it orally ...I then split the 1 mg pills into 4 so I would get .25 mg a day and was way better but took longer but started feeling a lil weird again so you need is half a mg every other day which will keep side effects away and still as effective but I recommend the topical minox/ finasteride I've gotten no side effects and it makes sense to stop the dht at the scalp rather than taking a pill. . After I massage it in with a electric scalp massager ( highly recommended as I use it for certain shampoos and essential oils too ) I also recommend hair Max laser band or comb ( band is just easier as you don't have to move the comb every 5 seconds 3 or 4 times through your hair and the band just feels like your bathing your scalp in lllt. Take some good hair vitamins I recommend California high potency vitamins( just contains only vitamins crucusp for hair like .( PABA , inositil , b12, folic acid , pantothenic acid , biotin , few others ) then Code Age proprietary blend of herbal complexes and things like Fo- ti , he shee woo, saw palmetto , pumpkin seed , resveritrol powder , rosemary , omega 3's basically i use it as a multi as it has so much whdt you would want in a multi but then more for hair as well . If you do want to take a multi with all that I would suggest gummies called " smart pants but you don't need the six per day as your getting a lot of the stuff in there with other hair vitamins so I'll just take maybe 1 or 2 a day . I spoke up nutrients half in morning half at night so I'm not getting everything at once . Important to not just stick to one shampoo kit , conditioner , daily former ECT . My main shampoo is aromatics scalp scrub descaler 1st , then rosemary peppermint shampoo which I massage in fur 2 minutes , light conditioner ( only apply conditioner to the hair by letting the shower mat your hair down forward not backward so you can give quick towel pat then small amount of conditioner lightly on thr hair going forward so the hsir is actually civeribg the scalp and yiur just cinditionng tge hair over cindition the roots and you'll have limp hair ) then I'll naturally let dry and I'll spray the rosemary root enhancer which is very invigorating and tour scalp is now optimally clean . But then every few washes I'll switch it up to either procerin scalp therapy shampoo and foamer / pura ' dor shampoo + conditioner and lastly Shapiro dht inhibiting shampoo , cond, dht block foamer ECT. By switching it your hair responds better then using just one product . Very important to NOT overwash your hair ..I wash my hair 2 -3 times a week tops . Washing your hair everyday stripping it if it's natural oils is very counter productive . The nights before I will shower in morning is when I'll use elevate essential hair oils which is rosemary oil, peppermint oil, argon oil, vitamin E oil , castor oil, olive oil , jojoba oil , ginger oil ect ...ill do dermal stamping ( not rolling as that tends to break hair and gets caught while dermal stamping is very effevtive becsyse your pressing into the scalp which is mire effective ..plus you can get the stamper that you can adjust from 0.25 all the way to 2.5 i recommend 0.50 or 0.80 or 1.0 anything over that I feel is damaging the follicles not helping them. In my opinion on this day and age with the technology and advancements we've made losing hair should absolutely be a thing of the past but they look at it like certain diseases if they cure it then you stop paying so the idea is to
I think we have great treatment strategies to help guys who tackle hair loss early. What is the best protocol for someone who starts treatment late? I'm taking finasteride, minoxidil, ketoconazole shampoo, once a week 1.5mm microneedling. Would like to do much more and see if there is any way to bring back more hair. Should I just focus on hair transplants or is there more I can do with treatments first to reduce the number of grafts I will require?
Well things like Minoxidil/Rogaine are OTC. Finasteride isn’t a widely known or marketed treatment. It’s still more known by word of mouth or something you hear about from doctors etc
@@TheChocolatePeacock Some people get side effects maybe but what I mean is it’s kinda pointless doing Minoxidil alone because you’re just setting yourself up to fail when you’re not doing anything to stop hair loss progressing.

Mate, I need to praise you. You provide the best quality videos, regardless of the subject. By the way, in your diagram 14.10 how many hair cycles can you revive by using dutasteride instead of finasteride. What is your guess, would it be 1,2,3 dots-phases more with dutasteride?
I’ve read, and seen videos of doctors saying it will give the same results taking it only 3 times a week. Apparently 1 finasteride (1mg) pill stays continuously active inside our skin tissue for like 7 days. You could look it up for confirmation. Personally what I’m going to do is take it once’s a day for 3 months then go a month only doing 3 times a week and see how my body reacts. If it’s still the same an no hair fall then I’m goin to continue that.
I also take different multi vitamins including Maca and ashwagandha which are known to help with sex drive/blood flow in men. So that could possibly be helping me, who knows
Take a look at any bold man. He has a shiny head wher there is no hair. This is a scar tissue or fibrosis. Eventually every medication stops working if you dont fight with chronic inflammation which is the cause of fibrosis and balding is caused mainly by inflammation around hair follicles. Dht has antinflammatory properties and it binds to androgen receptors around hair follicle to mitigate inflammation. By doing that it blocks blood flow and causes hair miniaturysation. Finnaly after many years the inflammation is cured but there is a huge scar all over the scalp. Where there is a scar hair does not grow.

For some people it can work at the front but more success can be expected at the back. I once used it for 6 months, I didn't even have a big problem with my hair, I just noticed that when my hair was wet I after a shower you could see to my scalp which is pretty normal but freaked me out a bit. I was in Costco with my sister and saw minoxidil and thought what ghe he'll I'll give it a go and after 6 months you could barely see my scalp even after I'd washed my hair and it was still wet.

Minoxidl and all these treatments don't work forever. And then eventually you're left worse off. It's why there are so many bald people walking around.
Wow what a useless comment
Minoxidil was only good at the time it came out, it's really not effective and it is temporary, the only choice is Fin or Dut, choose one of them, that's it

bro i am stressed i used a brand called bunee which had minoxidil and i got heart palpitations,,i was thinking of trying rogaine foam wonder if i will experince the same
😬

Did he use drmaroller? Did he do anything to fight scalp fibrosis?
What is scalp fibrosis?
Take a look at any bold man. He has a shiny head wher there is no hair. This is a scar tissue or fibrosis. Eventually every medication stops working if you dont fight with chronic inflammation which is the cause of fibrosis and balding is caused mainly by inflammation around hair follicles. Dht has antinflammatory properties and it binds to androgen receptors around hair follicle to mitigate inflammation. By doing that it blocks blood flow and causes hair miniaturysation. Finnaly after many years the inflammation is cured but there is a huge scar all over the scalp. Where there is a scar hair does not grow.

i didn't notice the so called 1st red line as it was diffusively thinning and i had long hair, but thankfully i noticed the 2nd red line on my way NW2 to NW3 i saw down video on camera was shooting a film and then subsequent extreme 500-1000 hairs in the shower 1 year ago and now finasteride for almost 6 months. seems like it caused lots of shedding now stabilizing with baby hairs idk in 1 year will i be NW0 i hope!!
It's been 9 months are u nw0 now or something ?
@sav8323 I'm still diffuse maybe less than 2022 but not as good at 2021 yet or in some ways ish but only NW2 ish now I gotbling hair though looks bad top scalp all shorter and aides much longer double length and back longer again, on dutasteride minoxidil and low dose spironolactone too.
