One of my best finds was a nightstand that matched my grandmother's bedroom furniture (she'd never bought a nightstand for her set). I'd never found my g-ma's furniture anywhere before, but one morning I walked into one of "my" antique stores, and there it was! One bedside table, with a drawer and shelf. Perfect match! Same brand! There was only the one, but that's all I had space for. And the bedside table was the only piece that had been donated, so I didn't have to worry that I was breaking up a set. And it had just come in that morning. AND it was only $50! Scored on multiple levels!
I absolutely love your eyes! They are so big and beautiful! 😍 I would love to know what eye makeup you use? Love how neutral .. but they pop✨ Home decor and makeup! Can’t get enough!
You’re the absolute sweetest! 🥹 I worked at a spa for about eight years prior to becoming a SAHM so I have a large accumulation of shadows. I typically stick to matte browns in the crease and something with a good amount of shimmer on the lid. Dark brown eyeshadow for liner and Flutterhabit lashes. 🥰
I have a library table with finials and a ladies writing desk. The moment I saw them, I had to have them. Every time I look at them, it makes me smile.
TH-cam just today suggested your channel. Loving your videos! Beautiful pieces. Elegant design style. Very inspiring. I recently found a door knob cover as well. Antique. Solid brass. Very ornate. Front and back plates. $20 for the two. The same person also sold me a gorgeous antique mirror with beveled glass around the edges $20 and two solid metal heavy danish frames $10 total. So $50 for all and checked eBay. Similar selling for ten times if not more than what I paid so love the confirmation of a great deal. The frames will need a color change which rub n buff will fix. Otherwise so happy with these finds as whenever I come across items like these when out thrifting they are ridiculously expensive. Thanks again for the great videos! Enjoying them!
Sounds like you are finding treasures at great prices too!! They are out there you just gotta keep looking for them. I also think a big part is having the collector’s eye, which it sounds like you have! ✨
A kindred spirit!!!! I never ever polish my silver. I love the patina of tarnished silver. I layer beautiful trays and pieces in an oversize floor basket in my kitchen . I just love the visual. I only use my pieces from trays, bowls, tea kettles and water pitchers as decor. I don't serve in them.
First time on your channel. You really found some beautiful items. I love 💕 the frames. I’m a lover of clear glass which has a bad rap because of some pickers putting it down. I say let them say what they want. It’s their loss. They miss the beauty of the glass. I’m subscribing to your channel channel. You have a great eye. ❤️🥰
Your videos inspired me to get out and garage sale/thrift yesterday and I found an entire rubber made tub of silver plated items for $20. Lots of great pieces including a teapot, a glass casserole set and cream and sugar. Thanks again for all the inspiration!
I was looking for Avon cape cod ruby glassware for ages, I walked into my thrift store a couple of weeks ago and found a decanter, four glasses and a jug all for $24. I was so happy😀
Ahhh, that’s a good find!! I’ve got my eye out for the Avon Cape Cod Ruby plates and goblets for a tablescape! They’re definitely not cheap when I’ve run across them so you got a good deal for sure!
Oh Man….I had a whole set of that stuff… I bought it one at a time for my son when he was little for his “hope chest” … When he got married his wife didn’t like it and gave it back to me… It was never used…I had so much I just sold it cheap! Try to buy the stuff that was made in the 70s the stuff that was made in the 80s and 90s it’s much cheaper process
I love old china, red ware, assorted old Christmas items! Yes I have lucked out several time’s! I drink tea so those old tea pots, cups and saucers make my day!
I love looking at the glassware and dishware when thrifting, I feel it’s overlooked a lot and there are some real gems! I also love teapots, my mom collected them when I was little. 🫖❤️
I was looking for a cabinet for my computer. I was willing to paint it. My friend texted from the ReStore and said “like this?” I raced over there and bought it for $75. I got it home and discovered it was an Arhaus cabinet. I know that isn’t vintage - but I was pretty stoked!!
I loved the mirrors, especially the one from your great grandmother, it was beautiful. You certainly did have some lovely finds. I go through fazes when i just seem to find things I want ……..and need of course, lol loving your videos 😃♥️
It does seem to go that way doesn’t it? I have had several week spans where all the sales seem like duds and then some where I gotta go home because either the car is full or budget is tapped. Haha! Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate you!! ❤️
I've had the same focus this summer. Here in Washington you only find garage sales for about 3 to 4 months because of weather. I've had such good luck at estate sales as well. Best find this summer ..hmm?..really dark moody landscape framed picture. Probably around 1920's.$3.
Ooooh, that sounds dreamy! The fact that it’s (nearly) antique is all the better!! But yeah, I love the garage sale prices so I hit ‘em while I can! Estate sales are always filled with treasures too. ❤️
The worn off silver pated item showing "GOLD " is actually the base metal BRASS. Most plated items are cast in brass and then plated with silver or other metals.
You found really great items! Those dining chairs are gorgeous! I have so many items that I've found at just the right price but my favorite (at the moment) is a vintage child's rocking chair, it's a super rich dark wood with turned legs and a Windsor style back that I paid $10 for at a garage sale. Thanks for sharing your finds with us!
Okay, that rocking chair sounds adorable and for $10 that’s a steal!! We have a little vintage wooden rocking chair for my son as well, it’s not in great shape but man they are so cute! 🥰
Love your serving dish! I bought two round ones and luckily I had bowls that fit. I bought a rectangle one a while back…had seen where someone put old cook books inside it with some oil bottles etc on the kitchen counter. Was very cute. Beautiful mirrors too. 😊
I have seen sooo many YT videos on home decor and I never really see anyone with my aesthetic until I found your channel yesterday. I love everything you’ve curated in your home. Even the music in your videos! Anything vintage, moody, old world, dramatic period inspiration (Downton Abbey- yes please) and Victorian spooky vibes during Halloween…these things are my jam 🙌🏼
Love your style!!! Hard to find these type pieces in Oklahoma, but makes the few finds a bit more exciting!! Most pieces here are white washed for farmhouse, still.... As I adore that style, but doesn't fit theUs! Keep showing us ....all the stuff!
I'm a new subscriber. I love your style and you have scored some great finds. I love to decorate in the vintage style too and have been shopping Thrift stores and yard sales for years. When I use silver dishes that have a patina for serving I use brown parchment/sandwich paper. It gives an old world look. But of course it only works for some things.
Hi there, so happy to have you and I appreciate your kind words!! 😊 Very smart to use parchment paper, I have done that for charcuterie boards on vintage trays, I think paper doilies would be pretty too! Gotta find little work arounds to keep our cool old stuff looking the way we like! 😆
Silver plate is a thin layer of silver over brass or silver over copper. The wear in your claw foot "tub" bowl is the brass showing through...I think it looks cool!!🧡 (if you want serving pieces that are all silver, those do exist and they will be stamped STERLING but those are much more expensive since they have actual metal value)
I just found your channel and have been bing watching your videos. I can't believe the prices you have gotten your treasures. Those prices are what I used to pay twenty years ago. What part of the country do you live in? Looking forward to your next video.
Only 4 minutes in….but I have to say….that basket with the insert that sits on the stair steps. Wow. Makes me wish I had stairs…..just kidding. I love my one level living (aka ranch). Growing up in New England, I never liked the look of a ranch style house….loved a basic Cape, a cottage, bungalow….but a ranch. Ewww. Now that I’m a senior weeble-I love my one-level living (still not calling it a ranch) 😅 but that basket for $2. Score !!
Pahaha!! Hey, it’s not a ranch unless you say it is, you live your truth! 😆 I understand the convenience of a one level for sure. Our last home was a one story and there were definitely some benefits. I find myself cleaning half of the house more often than not these days. 😆
I need to find a "how to" as to how to use the vintage knobs on current doors and make them work. I have some vintage glass knobs and don't know how to install them!
I am a newer sub, I love your decor style. Great Haul. May I ask do you have a tour of your home on your channel or do you plan to do a tour? We live in Pittsburgh PA and I will share your videos TO THE BURGH(STTB), May I ask what state you live in? Enjoy your day.
Aww, thank you Barbara! I always appreciate your comments and shares. I would love to do a house tour once we have a couple more rooms finished, it’s been a slow process to renovate and decorate each room with thrifted treasures. We’re in Kansas. 😊❤️
Sometimes if it's a plated silver over real silver. You may not want to eat with it because you might taste the silver coming off. My mother had to throw out a set of silver plated silverware because it was coming off in your mouth. So you are much better off with real sober versus silver plate or plated silver! If you want to polish real silver then seal it in plastic till you are ready to use it and keep it covered or hidden away it should slow the tarnishing process, silver tarnishes when it is exposed to air. So if you polish well, and seal it, with sealer machine and or a good quality Ziploc kinda bag, if it's not something you're going to use often. That should work.
I don't shop at Good Grief ;) but do support our local thift stores that support communities...such as women shelters and food banks..bit more, but for good cause
Ok I need your input !!!! I found a very pretty collection of silver dinner ware but she PAINTED THEM!!! To make them look NEW!!! I’m so sad because there is so many!! I feel she ruined them! Would you buy them and strip them of the price was right ?? Or is it worth it ? Please help me decide ❤
I have one of those casserole dish holders and use it to hold some of my cook books...really cute.
What a fabulous idea for your cookbooks !
I like to think about the generations of families that have used those door knobs in their homes! So awesome!
One of my best finds was a nightstand that matched my grandmother's bedroom furniture (she'd never bought a nightstand for her set). I love the door knob with the brass plate. And the imperfections in the knob is what makes it so perfect in my opinion. Beautiful haul!

Pretty sure tarnish isn’t dangerous… there’s often a little on any silverware 😊
Great finds especially the tarnished silver dishes and those gorgeous chairs and mirrors 💞💞
That door plate is Gorgeous w the wooden door! 👩🍳 💋
Thank you!! I love it, now I just gotta get the rest of the door polished up! 😊
Old world thrift? More like “Eye-catching metal that (with lights) can be lit!” 🔥
I’m so glad I found your channel!! You are one of my favorites now! So good!
Aww, thank you, that totally made my day! ❤️

Aww, I knew there had to be others out there that enjoyed that old silver too! They just don’t make ‘em like that anymore! ❤️

Thank you Debra!! I completely agree, there’s some really beautiful clear glass out there and while it may not be “valuable”, I dig it! 🙌❤️
Love the chairs Relate to the cane it wears
Yesss, I’ve seen so many beautiful chairs with wrecked cane and it’s not cheap to fix!
Your videos inspired me to get out and garage sale/thrift yesterday and I found an entire rubber made tub of silver plated items for $20. Lots of great pieces including a teapot, a glass casserole set and cream and sugar. Thanks again for all the inspiration!
Ahh, that’s amazing!! Sounds like you found a trove of treasures! You’ll start to see it everywhere now! 😍✨
Love the finds, my favorite was the stairs basket 👍🏽 I’ve never seen anything like that. I think I need one 👆🏽. Tfs.
I loved the book so much, but it’s all so lovely.✨☺️
Thank you!! 🥰❤️

We moved to a 2 story house in March and I found a stair basket at the thrift store shortly after. We use it so much. ❤️
Yay!! Seriously a must have for a two story!! 🙌
Cool finds. It's great that the serving dish is included in the first SP piece you showed.
Love your content!!!! Keep up the good work!! Great video..
Thank you so much for your kind words! ❤️

Good to know!! I had tones of silver dishware but none look quite like this one so it makes sense that it’s actually plated.
@@KrystaMeeker Solid silver items will also have identity markings from the country of origin FYI.

@@KrystaMeeker thank you! 🙌🏼
Those chairs are gorgeous!!
Thank you!! I’m so pleased to have finally found some! 🙌
My mother had those from before I was born in 1948.
I LOVE Architectural Salvage! One of my favorite places!
Oooh, me too! I could spend hours in there! 😍 So sad to see Andover Antiques closed, they had some great vendors in there!
I’m new here and love everything you found, great taste 🤗
Aww, thank you!! Happy to have you!! 😊

I love your channel! Your videos are so inspirational. I just ordered some printable wall art and I am off to look for frames.
New subscriber. LOVED your early Autumn video! Just my style! Thanks for sharing.
Hiii, welcome!! So glad you enjoyed, happy to have you here! 😊
Hello...new follower here 😁Stellar haul! Especially loved the old mirrors, they are a weakness of mine.
Thank you!! Me too, I have more ornate old mirrors than I know what to do with and I can’t help myself when I see a good deal on one! Haha. ❤️

Ahhh, good to know! I don’t have a preference on “real” silver. I actually prefer brass items, but like the style of some of the silver I find. 😊❤️
Was just about to comment this as well. With a lot of polishing, the silver layer has worn off.
Could you use antique wax on that gold wreath on the wooden box to age it?
That’s a good idea, what’s your favorite antique wax? I’ve only tried one and wasn’t a fan but I know people swear by it!
