Yes, our brains go all over when we tackle a room change! This is a beautiful color. I'm in the mood for a change too. Maybe this is it?! Good job!! If women ruled the world...
I have a 500 foot family room that I painted a little bit of a darker sage green. After 20 years, the room needed re-painted. I was going to change the color, but just could not bring myself to do it. Green bring warmth into the room in the winter, when everything outside is brown and grey. Green has become my favorite color.
Hello and shalom. May peace be yours. I am new, live in Missouri in the woods with my husband, mother, 3 dogs, 1 cat and 20 chickens. Loving this room.
Holy cow...what a difference before/after! The wall color is both soothing and charming. The table is completely transformed by using that stain, it's perfect for that room! Very relaxing and inspiring makeover!
Oh my goodness can I relate to the A.D.H. brain. I have to chant "focus....focus...focus" over and over when I get side stepped. I love the green. Great choice!
Absolutely lovely redo. I always chuckle when hearing about the 'latest' or 'all the rage' colors....according to designers. . For those of us who enjoy changing out little pieces and decorating for the seasons, having a green 'basis' is an ideal backdrop---regardless of the time of year.
Thank you Karen. Over the years of doing home decor and furniture flips I have come to have the same chuckle. I like trying new fads just for fun but I think it's a bit comical how quickly everything changes. I no longer feel the need to be keeping up with the Joneses and my style has rested into the "traditional" category
@@DesertDIY I am the same, Corey. Suppose my personal style---in our current home at least, as it is a rental and has many 'fixed elements', such as distressed red brick floors in two rooms and the entire back wall of our living room distressed red brick fireplace---veers towards the traditional or at least 'transitional', style. Have found that incorporating Nature in little ways (nick knacks, artwork, etc., all thrifted of course!) somehow elevates both the space and my overall mindset, and easily adapts to the change of seasons.
Cutting in is my favorite part of painting(and I have ADHD) My husband works at a local country club as a maintenance manager, and every year, at the end of Dec, beginning of January, he hires me to do all of the painting. Painting to me is soooo relaxing. I get in a zone, and before I know it, I am finished. Your room turned out beautifully, and I LOVE that color of green. I was thinking, man, I hope she paints some furniture with that color. As always.....great job!!
Hi,my name is Bonnie Smith. We live in Lubbock, Texas and I have the same problem with getting distracted. I have to keep telling myself- ”stay on this, do not get yourself distracted”. If I don’t I find myself suddenly off doing something completely different. I absolutely love this paint color. It is beautiful in your room and I love what you’re doing on your channel! I just retired and I’m looking forward to finally having the time to do these types of projects, something I’ve always loved to do.
Hi Bonnie! Thank you so much for watching my video, I'm so glad you liked it! Congratulations on retiring! You'll have to fill me in on the projects you get finished
Love how the dining table turned out! Really nice. Just a thought on the mirror: wiping a bit or some of the white paint off the raised edges, while it was still wet, would have aged it. Or, sanding off the paint from the raised edges would achieve the same effect. It would have added depth to the frame.
A very nice transformation . I am a green person, so the wall paint choice was a perfect lol. But the best make over was the dinning room table. The gel stain did just what you had hoped it would do, made it looked aged in a very natural way. I will definitely try that on my next furniture make over. Kudos to you for a job well done.
Delighted to see you cut in with your brush rather than taping. The tape is just one more thing that adds to the landfill. I too do the trim before rolling but I do one wall at a time. Mostly because I hate moving my ladder so often. Also that window has such a lovely view.
Cutting in one wall at a time and rolling into the wet paint after each is the correct way to do it and eliminates any lines and is the way professional painters do it.
Hi Corey… like you, my favorite color is blue, but my second favorite is green. I consider green a “neutral” bc all colors go with it…(think flower garden). Ten years ago I chose a sage green for my living room and blue for the adjoining dining room and have yet to grow tired of either. One thing I did was to paint the back wall of the built-in bookcase in my living room the same as the wall. It would make your blue and white and chinoiserie pieces really pop. Great job on the whole room!
I love the entire room beautiful, love French Country. The shutters are absolutely breathtaking. We just ordered wood remote slatted blinds but wanted shutters they did not have an installer for shutters in our entire state. Was so disappointed but will be happy ithe the beautiful wood blinds Levolor. The window treatment is another beauty with the print of sage and the blue I believe solid. God Bless
Great makeover. Lovely dining room. The plantation shutters add a lot sophistication to the room. Bringing the curtain rod higher will make the drapes look better and make your ceilings look higher.
@@DesertDIY Thank you for considering my suggestion and the prompt reply. You are so talented in woodworking, perhaps building a cornice with the same solid fabric so as to hide the empty space. Then you may be able to bring the rod down. It’s a suggestion anyway.
Love the color you chose for the room…it really brings that French country feeling to the space! This is the first time I’ve watched your videos, and I’ll definitely be back! I live in Southern California.🌷
Quite the difference. I'm glad that green is making a comeback as I just refreshed my bedroom and it already had a soft sage that is spot on now and I love it again.
My first time here! I also do not tape off when I paint and use babywipes for my little mistakes. Sweet to find another person who does it like me! Many blessings 💖
Hi Corey, first time seeing your channel. I too love blue , but the green you chose is really soothing, and allows the other elements in the room take center stage! I've been a thrifter since I was a young teenager. I still have many of the pieces through my decades of moves and life changes. I smiled when you said you love chartreuse, it's one of my favorites as well! In fact my kitchen is painted in chartreuse! I have started collecting copper pots and molds which look amazing against that green. You are a pro with cutting in!! It was fun to watch you paint your dining room and pull your items together! Very inspiring! I look forward to see your other videos! Sheryl from Central California
Your painting skills really made the room come together. The room is so beautiful. Green is such a calming neutral color for a dining space and you’re right it did match the outside view from the large bay windows. Custom shutters are sooo expensive. But a great investment.
I love the green color! That curved window is so fun and architectural! The hutch looks so pulled together and easy on the eye!! The darker stain makes your table look wonderful!! So sorry the smell was so bad. Being able to use the chairs from Pier One adds a nice sentimental touch! What a great room Corey!!
Omg I'm not the only one that likes to see how it looks right away I get so impatient when painting on canvas but any who your project looks so beautiful and calming

Groovy music! 🥰 Many people are against painting intricate designs, but the paint helps bring out the details that sometimes get missed! I painted the wood around the mirror in our camper bathroom today. I love scraping the paint off the mirror. It’s…satisfying!
Corey your dining room turned out just beautifully. That green is wonderful. Love how the dining table turned out and everything came together so harmoniously. The whole effect is lovely.
Absolutely love the color of the room and what you did to the table!! The only thing I would change is reversing the curtains and putting the pattern on the outside in the salad on the inside of the window and I'm in love with that peacock pattern curtain beautiful job!!

Hi Corey loooong time sub here…I’ve been a fan of yours for many years❤️. You really taught me how to flip furniture and I’ve been doing it and also following your journey for years…I followed your move and your pregnancy and your sweet spirit always has touched me. One thing that has stuck with me is your heart to do things for others, donating to kids aging out of the foster case system. My husband and I loved your idea. I thank you for all your inspiration that you so willingly share with all of us. ❤️ I LOVE the makeover! Green is my favorite color and I particularly love the calm green that you chose. Hello! Im from a small town about an hour West of Nashville, Tennessee. Throughout your video I was saying "me too"! lol. I love blue too, when I moved to my 1969 home I painted my paneling a sage green as well and I love it, I even have the same chandelier you have , although mine is in a box. Im trying to let my home tell me which direction I need to go so I get on you tube for inspiration . I just painted my home to give it a little life. Cant wait to see what else you create !
Hi, I’m Janice from Pueblo, Colorado and I’ve always loved interior design. I enjoy watching what and how others decorate. I’m not afraid of color and love your choice to go with sage. Looking forward to seeing all you do!
Favorite part? Watching you cut that room in like it was butter! That is a true talent. I have paint EVERYWHERE! I need the tape or it’s like a drunken person painted it! Haha😂. It looks Beautiful. Good choice on the green. So relaxing and yet invigorating at the same time. Watching the stain go on really had me thinking about a console I have. It is kinda orange, although I haven’t minded it. It might look really pretty just a tad darker. Thanks for sharing the makeover with us.
The soft green color really does look nice! Blue and green are complimentary colors on the color wheel, so it's a match made in heaven. Blue and yellow make green, so little touches of sunshine yellow would make cute additions too!
I paint just like you do! Trim free-hand and then roll. So much easier and yes the taping is always a disaster! Love the color you chose for the DR. I’m a big fan of green! Been watching you for a while, since you were spray painting in your backyard in the desert! I like your style, your no nonsense approach to things, your voice, and your ideas! Keep doing this, you’re good at it and enjoyable to watch! PS I live in Austin!
Hello from Utah! I love your choice of colors. Very complimentary with landscape showing through your bay window. Will be calming with each season! Nice work.
Looks great, I’m sitting here taking a break, going to paint a bedroom - very light green 😊, so this was a nice inspiration. I’m not especially into green either, my brother wanted the green ( a room in our vacation home). Have a great day 😊😊
TY for being honest & open about the toxic fumes from material ie., paint & stain !! I was 2 rooms away when my handy man was using Bondo. Ugg. Had ti make him take the door outside. Please make people more aware how toxic these types of paints, stains, & fillers are. Hoping for a less toxic ; chemical polluting world for my kids 🌟🌟
I’m loving this transformation! My name is Kanchan! I’m a DIY designer and doctor! I hate to spend the amounts of money that you need to make your house look like a home! So I or my DIY husband have furnished and decorated our house and our office spaces. He’s my gift from God, My husband who not only raised our three kids and now is my office manager, but he also rebuilt our screened porch down to the concrete pad and then built it so great that my best friend could not believe that it was not the original though he completely replaced it! I love that green, it’s soft but not looking like a typical pastel. It’s not too saturated, I guess. Also the gray in it is perfect to tone it down while not losing the green-ness. And you’re absolutely right about it allowing all the blues to shine!
Hi, Im Cat Whiman from Cookeville, Tennessee.....im 62 and want to remake found items ,from scrap,or free curb finds or cheap sad looking furniture... I cant do it until i retire!!! Im very excited to get started.... I dont know where to begin....but i just want to have fun and experiment with my inner creativity 😁😁😁😁

I'm excited about this color. I have blue and I'm liking the idea of this sage green...

I would’ve likely jumped to the walls after half the room 😅 I’ve been painting for years prior to furniture flipping and love how a whole room changes with just paint. I love it all, the beautiful table, the curtains, your grandmom’s chairs…beautiful room!
God bless you and your family Corey, from NC❤️
Love your voice, so soothing and even toned for longer listening. And you are so smart with your DIYs. Very encouraging for us newbies😊thank you!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that compliment!
Love the color! You’re right…a coat (or two) of paint can change an entire room! Congrats! Your hard work paid off!
Thank you so much Tanya
This room turned out so classy and pretty. I love the beautiful dining table and chairs.
Thank you Jodie
Absolutely love the table!

I’m ELETHA and you are by far my favorite in all the videos I watch. I love how you talk about your family and absolutely love your thrifting and make overs! Keep up the great work and videos

Hi Cathy! A sage green kitchen sounds very beautiful. Thank you so much for your high praises!
Also, the display in the cabinet is very artfully done and looks great.
Thank you!
I have had a green den for 16 years. I never tire of it. I love the way the blue and green compliment each other. Blessings.
Thank you so much Beverly, I bet your den is beautiful
Great job on the room! It turned out so beautiful! I enjoyed seeing the transformation.
Thank you so much! Let me know how it turns out
Looks beautiful!
Watching you paint is amazing. The room is beautiful. Loved how you put things together
Thank you so much I really appreciate it

Hi Donna! Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it
Hello from Utah! I love your choice of colors. Very complimentary with landscape showing through your bay window. Will be calming with each season! Nice work.
Hi Renaee! So glad you are here. Thank you so much
Love, love ,love ! ALL ! Color in curtains with the light green walls and blue accents 💕👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Your family hit it out-of-the-park with there pick!
Thank you so much!
Great job, I absolutely love that sage color!! 🥰👵🏽
Thank you so much Carrie
Looks great, I’m sitting here taking a break, going to paint a bedroom - very light green 😊, so this was a nice inspiration. I’m not especially into green either, my brother wanted the green ( a room in our vacation home). Have a great day 😊😊
What are the odds? How fun! Thank you
Love the shades of green & blue together! Beautiful outcome!
Thank you so much!!!
