You did great on this brother! The green paint is just off the charts and gives it a classy and unique look. Who needs SS badging, this is bad arse enough. Congrats!
WOW!! What a sweet ride. I was a teenager in the 60's when this car came out. A fan or the 64 SS I fell in love with the 65. The paint is immaculate and what was done with the LS is magic. Between what was already done on the car and what you've done it is a dope restomod. Congratulations!
Your Impala is second to none bro. I have 2 65's one SS the other a Bel Air wagon L99/6L80 swapping right now. Your car sets the bar pretty high. Cheers.
Sweet ride man! You sound like me, I'm looking for a 67 Chevelle but I keep coming back to a 66 impala lol. I'm taking my time and I still got a couple weeks before I could pull the trigger on something. But it's worth holding out for the right ride for the right deal.
@@MightySmaug it sure is. Its ls swapped now. Lq4 in it. Cool to ser that the hooker manifold cleared the steeringbox. What engine mounts are you running?
Beautiful 65!! Timeless! I’m currently in the process of swapping an LS into my 65 impala as well. What engine mounts are you running and did you have to cut the transmission tunnel at all??
Patience is the key. People jump the gun too often drive up prices on cars readily available. If you pay attention to youtube vedios of numerous classic car dealers or resellers you'll find they over price them and people fall for it when all you have to do cross reference what their selling for like a mecum auction as you'll find that cars are better all around for the same ball park or cheaper.. I have a 69 impala custom which I bought from the original owner with only 29k miles for 15 hundred. All it need was repaint and interior as she was up there in age used a walker which tore parts of the interior and and paint was worn with scratches and dings from her walker right behind driver door quarter panel.. the cars loaded with options.. I also became friends years ago with an older gentleman that I visited for years 150 miles away and mostly made sure he was safe throughout 2020.. I January he sold his 64 impala SS convertible 409 automatic also loaded with options including continental kit always garage kept black on red..his now 92 which once a month I drive the 64 down and pick him up for breakfast and joy ride... I won't disclose price I paid but will say was under 20k as opposed to some selling them for 60 to 100k..
Beautiful car. I have pretty much the same car A 1965 bel air 2 door. In the same color Tahitian turquoise in and out. With the original engine and transmission 283 V8 two speed powerglide. With 18 inch staggered Riddler’s
Nice 65. I loved mine except for the rust issues where the lower front fenders separated and lower corners of rear window collect water with no drains. May I suggest you remove the window trim and fill the gap with silicone so water can not collect. Maybe some waterproof grease where front fenders join. Chicago is a lot wetter than Texas so maybe you will have no issues. Being early twenty in 65 when I bought the car, I did not know how to stop rust so I used a syringe to remove the water from the window corners. Lots comes out. Air hose is what I might use today. Enjoy.
This color is the original color for my 65. I’m also doing a swap. Are you running a separate transmission cooler or running from your radiator cooler?
I usually prefer original colors on 60's Impala's but this dark metallic forest green would look great on any muscle car including this one. I love everything about this car except for one tiny detail. I would swap out that vertical antenna for the more common one that lays back at a 45 degree angle - that would look a little more gangster.
@mightysmaug just pick up a 68 Impala Convertible. Looking at running the same side Ridlers. Thats what brought me here. Can you please share the tire size you are running, front and rear.
Very beautiful 65. I just got one. Wondered if you would list the suspension, brakes, drop spindles you have. I love the stance and want mine to look like that.
I wanted to ask about your radiator, it looks close to the original one and I assumed you had to change it out for a more upgraded one and electric fans for the ls engine. I also have the Holley sniper and was wanting to upgrade to an ls. I've already upgraded my radiator and added electric fans so I'd hate to have to buy the right ones.
My mechanic finally got his hands on one that's been in my family for over 40 years beautiful ride but he's asking like 10 grand with the floor all rusted out it runs and drives but needed work to be a Daily driver I really wish he would not be so greedy he only paid 2 k for the car but it is what it is
This is one of the best setups I've seen 👏🏾 🙌🏾 👌🏾 congratulations
I like the Chevelles but a 65 impala has an even better body.
I agree…very appealing
It has a timeless look to it which is what I love the most. Great build.
