I’m rewatching this trial…I pick up new things every time. I swear Jim & Dick got schooled by every prosecution witness! I think Paul was a good person, with a side that when fueled by alcohol was A Timmy. He loved & checked in on his grandparents & aunt & uncle & by all accounts was a good friend. I blame a lot/most of his issues on Alex & Maggie..unlimited cash flow & unlimited flow of alcohol for someone with ADD/ADHD that wasn’t treated according to witness interviews. It’s sad that Gloria was the only one in the home he felt that loved him unconditionally. With the benefit of hindsight, he was intuitive & knowing all he did about Alex he was a huge liability to the entire family, civilly, criminally & financially. I find it interesting that none of these friends of Paul’s testified For Alex even though they said Alex & Maggie were very nice & kind to them & that Paul had a good relationship with Alex. These phone use questions by Jim to Nolan sounds like he’s never heard of speaker phone, headphones or earbuds Or stopping his work to talk on the phone. I’ll say it again…I can’t believe Jim & Dick are considered Top Guns in the legal world, That’s Mind Blowing. It’s Also Sad that all prosecution witnesses clearly believe Alex killed Maggie & Paul. I can’t imagine what all of his friends that have been heard from must be going through..Anthony, Conner, Miley, Morgan, Rogan, Nathan, Nolan, Will(s)etc All seem like such great people & stressed it was the alcohol that changed Paul but otherwise he was a top notch friend, generous & loyal. Now I’m starting to wonder if Paul was going to admit he was driving the boat think that was the only way to rebuild his relationships & reputation by telling the truth. I feel it was Alex & Maggie’s attitude that made the town turn on them..Not the fact an Accident had happened. At 18yo I was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a building, same thing, alcohol involved & one of my best friends driving..her parents, like mine were very well known business owners in our town. Attorneys were tripping over themselves trying to get me to sue them but that didn’t enter my mind because they were so attentive to me, my parents, my injuries & medical bills & they told us right away they’d take care of everything & they did. I didn’t even have to make a claim on insurance because they were paying for everything as it occurred & even offering to drive me to appointments. I worked at our company so I didn’t lose my job by being off, but they even paid my salary the whole time I was off knowing someone had to be hired to fill my position. Their attorney & Insurance couldn’t believe I wasn’t planning some massive lawsuit & I never took a penny from them because My Friend & Parents Acted Morally, Honestly & Never Tried To Shift Blame To Protect Themselves, My Parents Are Like That Too. Accept Responsibility For Your Actions & Treat People Like You Want To Be Treated. The Golden Rule Works! Alex Knew They’d Lose & The Results Would Be Catastrophic For Them. He felt the only option was to eliminate Maggie & Paul to maintain his status. Sorry to ramble, this case is just so sad & it’s hard to just say ok he’s guilty it’s over.
I love this channel, Amy, Eric & Aimee are awesome & I love your participation on STS too. I wonder if I ever need a lawyer if I could fly them halfway across the country to represent me? 😁 Keep Up The Great Fight For Justice!

I wonder what t felt like to Alex to hear how his son Paul was viewed by those who knew him, the high esteem in which he was held. I bet he had no idea. I think he saw Paul as pretty much not really going anywhere, as it was Buster he was cultivating. Ale couldn’t control Paul and I think he knew his son didn’t have much respect for him and that Paul knew what kind of person his dad really was and he had no use for duplicity and fakeness.

33:23 If the gun in the courtroom is the same gun Nathan used at Moselle, and he does seem to be sure of it, then it is also "the replacement gun" (because the original gun was never found.) He knew, and around the same time, that Paul had his 1st blackout presumably "stolen" ~ and Nathan used this gun shown in court ~ so how could he NOT know it was the replacement until this trial? The gun shown to him in court was the replacement gun. Jim is not very good at making this point and Nathan seems oblivious to it as well.

34:17 Jim: "And you'd even describe him as being careless...leaving guns around." Nathan: "I'd say so." That's an understatement to be sure. To not miss a gun for several days after a party, and blame it on most likely happening at said party, is nuts. He didn't lock his truck. Anybody could take the gun at any time. So, unless Paul never went out after that party for several days, he had no idea what happened to his gun~!! Alex testifying that he himself 'had mentioned it to somebody in law enforcement' "in case it came up in a future crime." Alex did not officially report it and testified that there "was a possibility that it might show up again, being as how Paul careless." Paul left himself open for real problems; not knowing for sure, but maybe even the one that got him killed. The thing I do not understand, is that the one shown in court had the scope on it, didn't it? So if the "replacement gun" did NOT have the scope, then the prosecution's lawyer was showing the original gun (the stolen one). There seems to be a LOT of contradictory evidence when it comes to the 350's ~ the originals and the replacement. We heard testimony that the original Christmas 350's (Paul's & Buster's were 'camouflaged'). E.g. I remember hearing about the scope being bought, and I thought that too was for the replacement gun according to the guy who was with him when he purchased it. So, what gives there with Jim saying the replacement had no scope?

Look at the darn “ rifle “ what good comes from that type of device . It’s just a troubled macho man and son rifle toy . 😮 and they had 3 of them , basically 3 m 16 ‘ s . Then it comes out that they were such responsible people and gun owners …..that they Lose! , leave guns all over the place , leave unsecured handguns and long guns in their car . They forget guns all over , they fail to secure guns properly as required by law /ownership . Is anyone 😢surprised this crazy gun play happened ? Even if it was the act of a complete stranger …..😂😂😂😂
