For those new VR glasses things, what would be even better is if they could turn that tech into wearable AR glasses. That's what I've been waiting for. I want to see the directions popping up on on the street when I'm walking somewhere, or have a menu pop up when I "click" (or whatever the input would be) on a restaurant as I walk by, even just be able to see my texts without pulling out my phone. I wear glasses anyway, might as well be even more useful!
For overwatch people are gonna be spending way more money on the battle pass system. People constantly hate on lootboxes and don't understand that Overwatch had one of the most lax lootbox systems in gaming where you can get most things just by playing the game. Anybody who actually routinely plays the game knows that nobody buys the lootboxes anymore since all you have to do is keep playing through ranked and farming them up. With the battlepass system you're gonna see a lot more spending on timed battlepass items which is part of the reason Blizzard changed it because this is gonna be MUCH more profitable for them than lootboxes ever were.
Exactly, that's why I loved OW1, I'm not looking forward to OW2 at all, mostly due to the monetization they've prepared.
I've got mixed feelings really. I bought OW lootboxes like two times before realising that I could just moderately grind and get almost everything I ever want by just playing the game. Just like a game or two every day. Battlepass is gonna cost a premium for the best stuff and you also have to play the game consistently to get the best rewards. I think there's more player involvement in a battlepass system where you're working towards something, which is cool. What I don't like is that usually people can pay to skip the grind. Makes the cosmetics kind of p2w in a way. You're not getting stronger but if you have a fat wallet IRL then you can entirely bypass the time and effort that everybody else has to put into the game.
if you people are defending any of these money grabs, then you don't deserve any better. Stop playing these games and they will stop doing this crap, easy as that.

Agreed. The Overwatch lootboxes were never a problem. Most people just sit on them after a certain point, racking up thousands. The one saving grace in all this is thta with the extra battlepass income, they'll have a bigger incentive on focusing updates into Ow2

The PS5 (i should say, the Playstation Digital store) lawsuit is about UK, Australian, and other country's prices are higher than American prices. 60 dollars does not equal 60 pounds, euros, so on and so forth
Missing a bit of relevancy in the lawsuit on #7, remember there's also a huge argument to be made for the pricing of games in the market as Sony's hit the $70 mark for products and has translated that to the equivalent of 70 pounds in the UK which does not make sense in terms of currency exchange, making the UK pay more than they should be paying.
Yea but I'm pretty sure it's not illegal to sell a product somewhere else for more or less than somewhere else...
I do agree though that these market places have overstayed their welcome charging such high %'s just to sell your product on their markets. More so Apple and Google when it comes to their mobile market place, basically creating a monopoly.

That's right. Make your own Phone manufacturing company, cross your fingers government's won't restrict or straight out ban your product. Then hope the FCC doesn't stomp you out when creating the mobile market place and OS for your companies phone with massive regulations that Apple and Google can afford and bypass. Then all you need is for people and developers to actually buy your phone and sell apps, and at a massive discounted cut in order to compete with Apple or Google....which you can obviously afford.
I'm sorry but when you only have two real choices for a phone OS that only allow you to access apps and programs, by going thru their marketplace, and actively stomp out any chances for competition or other OS to be used on their phones with the help of the Federal government.

I can see why Breaking Bad as a game just doesn't work. It's such a story driven show, so only way I can think of is like a narrative driven game. But the problem is lots of those revolve around choices. And seeing as Breaking Bad kind of is all consequences to people's choices. It would be really hard to write and make work and keep the quality people expect from it.
Good point. I’d like them to make a whole game based on Mike’s work before the series and concurrently, sort of max payne 3 style.

Automotive primarily uses clay, but they also recently started using VR to present detailed 3D renders of concepts and pre-production units to get a more "real to life" look at what the car will be like sitting in the dealership showroom. It's not just automotive either. There is another example :)
Stoked to hear they're still working on Beyond Good and Evil 2. I have this lingering feeling that it'll never come out, but I do think about it every now and then. I'm sure it'll come out right after they release Wild.
Nah for the Overwatch one is wrong. Instead of just playing the game, you now have to pay for the Battlepass then play the game to get the limited skins.

About number #7, in an ideal world one could argue that if stores didn't take a cut developers would be more willing to sell their games for less as the prices are bumped up to cover what the developer expects to gain plus the store cut. Again, in an ideal world.
they also don't just Target that they're going for the fact that Sony is the only one allowed to sell digital copies and therefore has a forced monopoly on it. there's a specific term for it but I don't remember
Also ideally less microtransactions and other forms of added monetization in the game

You forget the biggest part about the bonus one:
That you had to have all the skulls EXCEPT the invisibility skull on, which many people is the only reason Halo 2 LASO is even possible
He did it with invisibility skull on, in his stream all weapons and enemies are invisible including the player. That's why everyone thought Critikals challenge was impossible. It was hype af to watch
@@jessekukendall9273 The envy skull is the one that grants temporary cloaking (i.e. invisibility) to the player character, specifically Master Chief - it replaces his flashlight with the Arbiter's active camouflage. This is the skull that was not allowed.
The skull/skulls you are thinking of are the blind and assassin skulls. Blind turns off your HUD, including making your currently equipped weapon (and your hands holding the weapon) 'invisible'. Assassin skull permanently cloaks all enemy AI. These two skulls make the game harder.
@@sakuretsu1152 my bad I just saw him put the invisibility skull and didn't know which one he was referencing. Still hype af to watch though, especially when he does the skip on the high charity level but with the flood, I forgot the name. But he was juggling an invisible human flood man

7:42 I have always found VR games where you use a weapon and the gun is just floating in the air not being held by a hand stupid. How can that be immersive? Just my thought, but those glasses seem cool.:)
Beyond Good and Evil is like that one recurring dream you have a lot of fun in, but once you wake up you realize it’s never going to happen. 😭
Honestly I don't think most gamers even care that much about Beyond Good and Evil 2 at this point. I remember being so hyped for it in 2017, but five years later I've just moved on and I think this is probably true for most people who were excited about the game. This will absolutely hurt the sales of the game if it ever comes out.

I think everyone misunderstood the case with number 7. They’re not suing for taking a cut of sales, they’re suing for making digital games more expensive than physical games. Only weird thing is that it’s specifically targeted at Sony when both Microsoft and Nintendo are also guilty of this
It is none of these companies that are "guilty", blame regulations that are supposed to "protect" physical stores: Webshops are not allowed to undercut physical stores.
The deal was singed and they agreed to the terms of the deal I'm not really sure how this is beneficial to them especially if they lose and are counter sued.

Legendary with all skulls has been done before, the one that was wasn’t done was all skulls BUT Envy, which made the run easier. Doing it that way is much harder and considered impossible by many.

The reason the prices don't decrease with less cuts taken out of it, is because most platforms have rules against having a lower price on other stores. So the only way to lower it would be to lower it on All platforms.

Vince Gillian needs to discover the Telltale games, Breaking Bad would work well in that format. He could do spin off series/episodes centered in the BB universe, and tie it in to the shows! I'd love this, but I'm still waiting for Game of Thrones season 2 from them first!

Also Gearbox software is making a new Borderlands TT themed game, whether or not they can match TT remains to be seen. But Wolf 2 looks like this new dev team is doing a damn fine job from the trailers.

the thing is when on steam you can easily go to the epic store or gog or some other competitor. Sony have a complete monopoly on digital sales, no alternative stores for developers to choose to sell their games on. not consumer friendly but that is the most typical thing about it being a Sony story.

I do believe one day in the future vr will be used to teach students/university students. Doctors, surgeons and so on. What people think we are childish for wanting to play with will probably one day help save lives in a more efficient and effective way.
I think I remember the Punch Out thing being a thing way back in the late 90s. I don't know if I remember the character select window but I'm confident I remember being able to control the opponent.

Oh man, that Warcraft adventure-game! I remember watching a trailer for it back in the 90's - on a demo-CD that came with a gaming-magazine, no less - and being really excited for it since I loved Warcraft II AND the Sierra/LucasArt adventure-games... but then it never came out. UNTIL NOW! I'm gonna see if I can find that leaked fan-remake so I can finally play it - better late than never, right?
We need true VR that taps into neurons and nerves to produce true VR in like an SAO sense.
About the VR thing, I always thought the modded raybans that cyclops used in X-men dark phoenix would be a great model to design a VR set to look like.
