The hardest thing for us is pricing right to get alot of business, its very competitive around here. Any advice or tips would be awesome. Thanks and I look forward to your next videos.

    bro I started as an ebay reseller scouring garage sales, flea markets, and estate sales. I became cool with clean out guys and had been buying my best stuff from them for awhile. I was selling antiques, books, and old paper items like maps and brochures and documents. Well, after the insane fees online and various site related issues, I actually reversed course and am now in removal, all the way at the other end of the supply chain lmao! great content

      You need to buy the truck as a cab and chassis. Look it up on google and you'll figure it out. Then you need to get a truck and body company to install the kind of body you want. Mine is called a Stake Body or a Rack Body. My dump trailer came with tall sides but you can buy that same one with short sides and make your own sides if you want.

    Do you prefer a dump truck to a dump trailer? It seems better to have trailers that you drop off at jobs and pick up later, but you seem to load it yourself and are making a killing, is that because you can do more work loading a truck versus dropping off trailers?

    • @SteveConroy1
      @SteveConroy1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Junk removal goes like this. You get a call to remove stuff, you set up a time to do it, you arrive, you fill the truck or trailer, you take payment, you leave. If you are dropping dumpsters or trailers and picking them up later you would be in the dumpster business not junk removal. Both can work very well together, but if you are going to be advertising as a junk removal service, do what a junk removal service does. I prefer a dump truck because its a whole lot easier to maneuver.

    I'm starting my junk removal business soon, down south. Great video! How do you price your loads? I'm finding it hard to figure out how to give a potential customer an estimate all by a photo..

    • @SteveConroy1
      @SteveConroy1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Photos are awesome and they allow you to gauge what the customer has but you never want to a provide definite price from pictures.

    Hey bud thanks for the vids. How much do you charge for a full load on average? Thanks

    • @SteveConroy1
      @SteveConroy1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A full load is never on average. A full load costs the price of a full load. Only times your prices should fluctuate is if it is extremely labor intensive, job takes much longer than it should due to site conditions, heavy material, or light material. That being said, for a full load I charge.............

      I do all my invoicing and bookkeeping in house! I thought I would transfer over to quickbooks when I started getting busy but doing things myself allows me to really see the ins and outs of my business. It is a tedious task but worth every second if you can respect the process!
