this MV is such a huge upgrade to Change Up. There were so many similar scenes but now they are at a grander scale? Like with the cars, Hoshi's scene with all the mirrors and Woozi with the fancy dinner setup. Before, hoshi was only holding 1 mirror and the table setup was tiny. Idk it feels like they've really grown so much

Not only did I think the same thoughts, but I also got reminded of change up with wooozi pointing up and then the cheer glasses Behar it was like when he pointed up and the firework shot in change up.

Also the hats is a reference. In Change up only Woozi uses one and it is a small version from theses we see in Cheers.
Also their clothes. In Changeup they look like the same (change only color) and know they have their own style.

CHEERS was actually my first comeback as a carat, I will never forget how this song made me feel the first time I heard it. In an unstoppable discography, this song holds a special place in my heart.

I hear this about S.Coups! I noticed how much he was feeling himself when I saw the HOT live performance, he just oozed charisma. Idk if I just haven't been noticing or these types of concepts elevate him higher but I'm happy to see him shine!
..i remember watching a reaction video of Hot fancam of the other members(their biases)..but everytime they saw Coups on the screen..they just lost it..haha..they ended up watching his fancam..

I agree with you about SCoups. The last time I remember him being cocky was in a live performance of that hip hop unit song with the banquet table (sorry the name always escapes me). Especially since his return from hiatus he has been very much keeping to the background.

At the Be the Sun - Seoul concert the other day he had a wing neck tattoo and he said it was a spoiler for something coming soon, and then at the end of the 2nd concert day they announced the Sector 17 repackage album (that includes Cheers). A bunch of them had the fake tattoos at the concert

i guess it really hits different for older carats...it's really exciting and emotional see them comeback 5 years later bigger stronger and confident. And to be part of that journey along with them that got them here. some ppl recuding this cb to be "auto tune" is just too shallow...even tho ppl might know Why are they singing this they just don't UNDERSTAND this moment and all the fear us fans had over the years...this is a moment of flexing for us carats too
I think the group with “THE” most subunits and subunit releases has to be suju… (KRY, T, M, Happy, D&E) but I would say that seventeen has the most well promoted solo / subunit work. They really mention it so much as a group that it just feels like group promotions lmao. Also BSS said they might have a comeback at year end, on my knees praying for it

I felt that about S.Coups too. I even think he tried to hold himself back, sometimes, to let the boys shine. But now that they grew, he doesn't have to do that anymore. It's like he found himself and isn't scared to show that. He grew, the boys grew and they had fun, you can see in their eyes that they still love music and performance so much.

I feel you PD, getting emotional seeing Coups shine and have his moment here was so special. I love the lyrics of the song, these 3 had so much burden to carry as the leaders and they did their role with such grace it’s been incredible to watch them through the years. This song is so lit, knocked us all on our ass and I pray they perform this at the concert.

I super agree with you! I've been a carat for 6 years and my bias is S.Coups. I can totally get what you're saying. Seungcheol is so confident in this it's not new to me I've seen him so confident in Un haeng Ilchi and other svt HHU songs. But for this one it's a natural confidence that's showing from him. This is his habitat he owns the spotlight. His lyrics and verses were genius. Out of all the leaders, he's the one that doesn't have an official mixtape/solo release. But in this song and mvideo, you can see that HE IS VERY CAPABLE he is insane!!! What more if he releases a solo mixtape in the future? I love to see it!
I am not coming out of their concert alive if I see Cheers and Kidult in person for completely different reasons. I think doing a HipHop style song for their leaders release is definitely not a coincidence because the song is literally flexing Seventeen and how far they have come as a group. For them to do HipHop song which of course Seungcheol WILL standout in, seems completely intentional especially since he's also the general leader of SVT.
Opinion on the song, I enjoyed it so much and I think it's like a REALLY good party type song. I don't know if I am the only person who does this, but when I have a busy day ahead of me, I always play like vibey and bouncy music. Like from when I am bushing my teeth to when I head out of the door, so that it sets the tone of the day for me. This song is literally perfect for that kind of occasion because it just makes you feel really cool and confident as you listen to it.
tbh this is my favorite seventeen song this year so far! the lyrics actually made me very emotional, especially woozi's first line in the first pre chorus, it got me tearing up fr. carats and svt been through alot together, and cheers it's a statement of how far our family got. i just love seventeen so much, i'm so so so proud of them, can't wait for the repackaged!! thanks for the reaction

I loved your take on S.Coup's confidence. I agree, but see it as him always having had this swagger, but now there's a new maturity to the vibe I'd attribute to a sense of security and pride in the members. There's a duality between the success achieved so far and the success still to come. He's hungry for more but is taking a moment to savor the now. Very "have your cake and eat it too." I love this energy and am rabid for August.
It must be so nostalgic for really old carats, as someone who joined the fandom just recently I have all my respect to the people who kept on supporting seventeen from their basement to their building

All three of the leaders ate this up, their confidence and swagger is on a grand level. That said, this is definitely S.Coup's era. I agree that we've never really seen him have his own spotlight moment, even in the hip-hop unit I think he does a great job but he's never really been this... bright before. I love that Seventeen as a group always gives their members a chance to shine, they're always trying new line distributions and styles, always changing up (pun inteded) and this time I'm happy S.Coups was able to flex like the rap god he is lol. I live for the leader line, Woozi looks fantastic, rapper Hoshi is my aesthetic and fingers crossed for a BooSeokSoon comeback!
Cheers was expected since we saw the repackged album Tracklist!! S.coups (if I remember correctly) said the new Tittle Tracks is gonna be cheerful and bright, and I CAN'T WAIT!!

Don't get me wrong I love all of them and they all deserve to shine but like you said as the leader we wanna see more of him in his element if u get what I mean, and cheers really highlighted his insane rapping skills that we haven't seen in a while since the hiphop unit have been leaning towards more mellow (?) songs lately that highlight their vocals (which are super great too btw) but yea its really great to see him feel himself like this again

I'm so used to hearing youtube videos with music in the background there's something so peaceful and engaging about this form of video. The lack of music coupled with the crisp voice audio and slow speech just makes for a generally beautiful video I love it

the symbolism in the video goes so damn hard. woozi, their producer, playing the flute in the beginning and shown as the puppet master holding a piano over coup’s head like a cartoon anvil as coups stands on stage showing the pressure woozi feels being responsible for all their music vs. coup’s anxieties as the leader of the group?? coups going from the piano held over his head to being trapped inside to standing on top of the piano. the leaders in the white car and then pulling back to all of them looking at 2 white cars on a racetrack showing them looking at the big picture instead of being in the rat race. THIS VIDEO GOES SO FUCKING HARD.
