Could you recommend one that guarantees it works in the rain? I am having trouble finding any that even mention it. It seems that it should be at least able to withstand being left out in a rain storm like a motorcycle or motor scooter is. Otherwise commuting is not an option on one. Pedaling it home until it dries is one thing, but having it destroyed by water is quite another.
From the info I found, it says that the Ancheer is rated IPx5. The second number indicates that it can withstand "Water projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) against enclosure from any direction...". For more information, check out Wikipedia page on IP Code. So basically, yeah it should be okay in the rain, but like I mention in the video, definitely cover the LCD display/thumb controller. Hope that was helpful!
Hi, Thanks, we're glad you enjoyed the video. I'm also having some trouble finding your eBike. There isn't much information on it, but from what I can see, it looks like a generic style electric bike from China. I'm guessing it's not very water resistant, and might only take spitting rain. As for cleaning the bike, I wouldn't spray near the battery area, and also take the battery out. Hub motor should be okay to hose lightly, just make sure to not spray into the axle where the cable from the controller is. It's safer to be cautious, so I definitely recommend staying out of the rain with this bike, and only clean with a wet cloth and dry rag. Hope that helps!
I was going to buy a kit, but hearing that they are not waterproof it would be pointless as I use my bike daily and here in the UK it can rain any time :(
Hi Chay, No electric bike or kit is completely waterproof. That's what the video tries to explain, but some are water resistant, and how resistant they are really depends on how the manufacturer designed and built the components. There are kits (the one I show in the video towards the end), that claim to be completely water resistant and can withstand heavy downpour. Definitely recommend checking that company out, and try find some kits that claim complete water resistance/weather proof. Because they exist! Hoped that helped, good luck!
Thanks for the reply, I have looked at a few site in my price range and in this price range nothing is waterproof, as my bike stands it is not a target for thieves, but adding a few hundred pound to it would make it a liability, then I be walking home in the rain :)
@@ChayBode It is definitely worth looking into and ebike kits are indeed waterproof but not water tight, there are naysayers like Victor that seem to hate ebikes despite having zero use knowledge and now apparently motorbikes, victor is a know entity trolling comments with misinformation for what can only be his own entertainment. But back on track yes kits are water proof but you have to be smart in what you buy and if something is in doubt make it waterproof, over the years i have built and sold many ebikes and none have failed yet due to rain, I personally live in the UK and the rain can be horrendous at times yet i still zip to work at 30mph on my home built ebike rain snow or shine and at work the bike sits out in the elements all day ( aside from the batter that i take inside for security ), from the start i use the KT LCD-3 screen it is labled as waterproof and i was skeptical but years on it has never failed despite the heavy rain,l the controller well it is a cheap KT sine wave 1000w controller again marked as water proof and on my bike it is exposed but never has an issue, the motor is a cheap china violomart 1000w and years on there is no sign of water damage inside the motor, the battery is where things can go wrong, cases like haloing are water proof to a point and will resist heavy rain and this is the kind i used when i built my battery but some like to use cycle bags that are not fully water proof and well it lets the angry battery pixies flow when water gets in, the other thing people often over look is the wiring, all ebike kits or well most do not have waterproof connectors and this is usually where people have issues as a single drop of water in the wrong place on the right connector will short it out so it is imperative to have the connectors / wiring in a waterproof box of some kind, I personally use a modified ebike plastic controller box to make a wiring connector box, basically drilling a hole in it feeding the controller wires in and then silicone sealing the hole, it makes for a pretty water proof connector box.
@@EQINOX187 Cheers for the reply, as I get older, I can see me investing, but what turned me off was most outlets could not state if the ebike was waterproof, splash proof, yes! As the market grows and I see some sweet looking ebikes popping up and designed for the UK, I am getting more tempted, but for the moment will hold off and use my legs while I save up :)
Just checked, and can confirm that IP is both International Protection and Ingress Protection. Although upon hearing Ingress Protection, it makes more sense haha

@Victor Jones Thanks for the input, I will stick with leg power, thought the legs are getting old they work come rain snow or sun shine :)

The Enzo ebike survived 3 day's of riding it to work and back home in the rain
Did it die on the 4th day?
@@jhonnydasbr5367 no there shit quality bike's I got a hyperscorpian and scramble V2 know way better bike's

Just avoid riding your e-bike around in the rain because the gears and chains among a lot of other parts aren't rustproof
Why put Easter
insane music in the background while you’re talking most of the video
Great informations
