Picked up a pair of these yesterday and immediately put them to the test - seem solid so far!
Interesting review, I have a wide foot , so I wanted to know if they would be suitable for me .
Nice comprehensive and honest review. I find regular hiking boots uncomfortable and have never found comfortable boots. Like you I have wide feet so I'll try and size up. Thanks for sharing your experience
Thanks for taking the time to watch. The only footwear I can get on with fully is flat cycling shoes, I guess they are designed so your feet are pressing on the pedal and spread out so a lot of them are very wide.
I wear thick socks so should I go up half a size
Helpful video thanks, would you recommend these for something like a Kilimanjaro climb?
That's kind of hard to say. Most walking I have done in one day is about 8 miles and I felt fine afterwards but then I am used to walking, I do it a lot. There's is a bit of a break in period with them so I wouldn't want to take them straight out of the box and go and do a serious hike.
Good review. Regarding these Rain.Rdy boots, I have a pair for a year, used maybe twice a week, 5km walks. Would agree with most except that my right boot has now leaks water - no obvious tear - so am unsure if this is 'wear and tear' , which would be premature or a tear has occurred which I cannot find. Next time, I will either go to UA or HH, or shift to Adidas GoreTex (or get the same and see if the same happens after the same usage).
Thanks for the feedback. Yes that would be pretty early for any wear to occur. As of now I have done about 4 times the distance as you and they seem to be holding up okay, I doubt they will last the year though, but if it means I need to buy a pair yearly and could have dry feet for the winter it's a pass for me. I'd like to try some Solomon boots next as I had a pair for their trainers and they lasted 8+ months of daily hiking use and the grip was extremely good. On the downside their boots are very expensive. I have yet to try any UA or HH boots. I'd like to try some barefoot shoes for their extra width toe boxes.
I must have a look at Solomon too, although if too expensive, I won't go that way. I got the Adidas while on offer so I will look to different companies to see what's on offer again @@Chambers36TheEnter
Would yall recommend for daily use I work in a warehouse just a lot of standing.
@@STDELTA21 It's hard to say really. There isn't a lot of padding in them, the insoles are very thin and found they took a while to wear in. If you stand around a lot they'd probably last a very long time and I guess if they fit you well then it would be a solid choice.
Adidas say terrex is that exactly the same or a different variety and they also do a gortex version is that necessary
I have had these 8 months now and the soles are wearing down thin but the rest of the boot has held up really well, I wouldn't personally get the more expensive gortex version because I don't see what extra I am gaining over these ones. If the price was similar I would try the gortex just to see if it's any better but I am more than happy with the rain rdy version. In the past 2 months I doubled the distance I have been walking & there's probably another 1-2 months worth of use out of these before the sole is so worn that water would get in underneath.
@@Chambers36TheEnter Soles are the things that are stopping me from buying these shoes. I have the "shorter" version of them - Soulstride - and they are great, except the soles or grip to be accurate. I need boots for hikes and walks in the woods and muddy fields. So the grip is important, and unfortunately, on the sidewalks is disappearing really fast. Just a blink and a "layer" is gone. BTW do you was them in the machine when they are really dirty?
how do they feel in summer when its hot? my feet were warm and sweaty.
I use them in romania ( 40 degrees these days) and it's pretty ok. no complaining
@@alexandredesmonts35 Servus. Do you use them in the woods or in the city (sidewalks) too?
