I'm currently on a streak of 9 mage arenas with no flamestrike, yet somehow almost every mage I'm up against seems to have a flamestrike on turn 7, some on turn 6 with coin.

I think that in the last 10-11 Mage Arena runs I've played, I've gotten 2 flame strikes, but someone I never draw it. Today I ran 2 arenas and faced 8 mages, every mage had atleast 3 boardclears and had a flamestrike on turn 6 or 7. EVERY MAGE.

Did you count ethereal conjurers, cabalist tomes etc. where you can potentially get flamestrike?

I had a run yesterday where a mage played turn 2 snowchugger, coined Gorilla Bot, and followed that up with Goblin Blastmage. Not to mention he had flamestrike turn 8........ Freakin ridiculous.

my recent arena deck had 3×flamestrike, a frost nova, a cone of cold, a doomsayer, a pyroblast, 2×fireball etc. Only got 10 wins because also my opponents had crazy good decks. Boy did it feel naughty when I played the third flamestrike, because my opponent's despair was palpable.
I had 4 flamestrikes once. Went 12-1. Flamestrike is awesome. 12 of the cards had a rank of over 100. Would definitely do again

How do i get better at arena? i follow the arena card ranking and i still get a max win rate of like 2/3 or sometimes luckily 3/3 but more common than that is 1/3
Well..knowing what cards do and how good they are is probably the most basic skill you need, and can have, to even play the game. It does not guarantee any wains, just like learning the rules of chess doesn't mean you will win (not saying HS is like chess).
It comes with experience, and analytical thinking. If you're allways playing your cars on curve no matter what, you will most likely lose 9 out of 10 times.
use an arena card rating site until you get a hang of things.
just keep watching arena especially a series of trumps arena runs. He has a series of every hero so at least watch and understand why he picks what he picks. I found his rogue helpful as sometimes I too have a decision to make as to pick alot of 2 drops or keep quality 4 drops and rely on rogues weapon / cards to keep you in tempo.
Also what I started doing was I started up my accounts in Europe and Asia and now practise as much gold as I can in those servers so on my main I can do my best. Figure out your common mistakes.
tbh watching kripp and trump play made me way better at this game ... but still my average is 3 to 7 wins
Just play arena a lot, I used to be terrible at arena, going a max of maybe 2 wins, and then I just played nothing but Arena for six weeks straight until I really got the hang of it.
Right now I've got an Average Wins of 3.6, that has been steadily rising with 9 above average runs in a row, many being 6 or 7 wins.
My other trick to getting better was to not follow the online card rankings, and instead keep track of my own card statistics based on my play, and how I perform with each individual card.
Also, get lucky. Get really lucky. That's the main secret to winning.

The flamestrike was pretty sketchy (at 10:35) . Why would the mage keep a flamestrike on a board against 4 minions especially if he only had one spell (coin). And then not ping the Yeti at 1 hp?
Plus, nobody keeps a goddamn bog creeper in hand (same game). It was the last card in his hand too. Even if the opponent is a paladin, there's not much he could do against a full board (before the topdeck blizzard). Any normal player would have just bet on Kripp not having a keeper and play the bigass taunt.
Mages can easily draw another flamestrike or two from Ethereal Conjures and Cabalist's Tomb as well, which further puts the odds in their favor.

Well, I once faced a mage that played 5 flamestrikes before half his deck was drawn. Might seem pretty bad, but he crushed me since he drew them all with high mana cap. I'm still wondering if he could have had just as many in the rest of his deck, 10 flamestrikes would have been sick...

That's only possible if death rattle buff didn't hit bgh. Nobody makes a lethal play unless they know they have it

What is the current order of best heroes in arena?
Some say Rogue is best, others Mage. After that there's Paladin, Warrior and Warlock are overlooked, and Shaman got some great cards this expansion. I agree with Kripp that Mage is the most consistent, but Rogue is awesome for arena as well.

maybe the chance of flamestrike is 0.6, but you will find the no flamestrike mages in game one and the 3 flamestrike mages in game 12.
And I think the chance of flamestrike don’t depend of the proportion "number of cards printed"/"number of cards drafted", in the draft you always get some kind of "preset", you will see no bladeflurri during the draft or you will see 3.

Hey Kripp what do you actually mean when you say someone is sniping?
Sniping means his opponent is watching his stream so they can see what his cards are.
By sniping, he's referring to the opponent being outside, near his yard on top of a hill, pointing a 50 caliber sniper rifle right at Kripp's head. It's called stream sniping, and it is an unfair strategy because it places pressure onto the streamer and makes him do sub-optimal plays. Streamers experience this phenomenom very regularly.

20% chance to have board clear on turn 7 is very believable.
First you have to GET Flamestrike in deck picking, then you have to draw it. The likelihood of the last dude drawing 2 flamestrikes in 13 turns is somewhere in the zero range. And to have 4 mages with double board clears drawn early.. That's bizarre, but it's bound to happen from time to time :)

Kripp. I'm not a master but I never would've played the flame strike in that situation, and I don't think he was sniping. You had a yeti out. He may have used flame strike on 6 with the coin but with 5 health it doesn't clear the yeti and he loses every ounce of tempo. The turn you played the Nerubian you made it easy for him by not using the seal of champions to reshield your 4/4 taunt and playing a bunch of four health minions. The bog creeper proves nothing. It has 6 attack. It's not succeptible to big game hunter and if he were sniping he would've put it out to draw you into burning your seal of champions anyways. Most days I agree with you. I just think you misplayed that time.
