For f2p:
Step 1: pick Priest
Step 2: put as much card-stealing shit as legally possible in your deck
Step 3: fill the holes with whatever the heck you want
Step 4: keep taking your opponent's win condition
Step 5: get your 40 d- err, card pack
Step 6: never speak of this Tavern Brawl again
Trust me, it works.
The moment I saw the brawl I did exactly that
Step 1: Pick Priest
Step 2: Put Alexstrasza and Embrace the shadow in your deck, with some heals such as Flash Heal and Corrupted Healbot.
Step 3: don't forget removal (Shadow Word Pain and death)
Step 4: Play Alexstrasza on your opponent
Step 5: Play Embrace the shadow and heal your opponent.
Step 6: Play Corrupted Healbot and kill it while Embrace the shadow is still active.Step 7: Replay Tavern Brawl because this week is epic.
Certainly helps us poor folk to beat those who pay to win...

This tavern brawl is "whomever plays the most OP legendaries wins," so I chucked every legendary I had that made sense, threw in a few big creatures like bog creeper, tossed in some mind controls, entombs, thoughtsteals, etc. and I managed to beat lots of new players that were running common cards the first day. 10/10. Great brawl. Bullied lots of new players. (I have yet to spend a dime on Hearthstone too. Works nicely. :3 )
Yes, that is sarcasm for morons that cannot figure that out. This brawl sucks ass. I only won since I have a lot of the decent legendaries from playing a long time.

not exactly. it's a coin-toss brawl. Literaly.
Who wins the first cointoss wins 95% of the time. Just look at this video alone. Only 1 game he went 2nd, and he only won that, because his opponent skipped his first turn.
It doesn't matter if you have legies, since even a crappy zoo-lock can rush you own. The coin, which normally balances the tempo-loss of playing 2nd is completly useless here, with 10 mana. Hell, the practically only ways to come back when playing 2nd don't even work against zoo-decks (Mindcontrol etc.)
not really I got tons of wins from just playing beast synergy hunter
me too, undefeated beast synergy hunter, although I never faced some of that crazy burst we saw in those Kripp games
Legendaries suck go murlocs
I've basically seen 3 types of decks:
--The big dudes deck, that while it favors those who have more of the large legendaries like Rag and Alex, it at least makes use of the brawl mechanic. Also priest can make a pretty good deck like that with only the legendaries from adventures, and basic cards.
--Miracle decks (only rogue and druid so far), with Auctioneer, Summoning Stone and Yogg. Again pretty fun, and takes into account brawl mechanic when building the deck, since you can't run a deck with only 5 minions on ladder.
--The boring fucks who bring their netdecked ladder decks to the brawl.
Personally, I like my miracle druid the most, since most games only last 3-4 turns: I either can miracle out a 30-ish spell Yogg, and crazy shit happens, or I don't draw any minions, so I'm dead. And sometimes I can play the summoning stone and get some crazy random minions on the board.
There was also this one crazy Priest Vs Priest Match, where I basically stole the guy's Rafaam 4 times: mind visioned it and played it, he entombed it and I got it from shifting shade, then mind controlled it and lastly I played Sylvanas and SW:Death on her to steal it the final time. Pretty fun match.

Wow hold on a second! I did not expect blade of C'thun battlecry to be able to trigger twice, because you can't destroy a minion twice. That's insane.

I still think the ancient one should have the text 'Your opponent cannot concede.' If you open the menu, the concede button is greyed out and wrapped in a tentacle.

For everyone complaining about P2W: Make a deck full of only 5 mana cards and tempo out your legendary spamming opponents. Playing two things every turn at 100% mana efficiency is often enough to beat those legendarys, even if the cards you're playing are mediocre. Be sure to include Azure Drakes for card draw. Use druide class for nourish and druid of the claw, if you have em. If you don't, rouge's Assasinate does a lot of work. I managed to get 10 wins for daily quests on my relatively new alt account in just under two hours in this brawl.
Also watching this video made me try murloc shaman and I'm having a blast right now. My win rate is < 30% but it doesn't even matter because the games are so short.

16:50 Blizzard should add a mechanic with the Ancient One that prevents your opponent from conceding once its summoned. I'm sure that could be abused somehow, but the card is so rare I doubt it'd ever be an issue.

This is the proper format for the game. I spent money to open/ craft high cost legendaries to show that I am a better player than zoo noobs, and this format lets me achieve that by dominating them

Had alot of fun with Yogg Mill Druid. Naturalize x2, Mulch x2, Poison Seeds+Starfall, and even threw Malygos in with Moonfire. And of course plenty draw and Doomsayers. Was able to drag many games out to like 1-3 cards in deck and drop Yogg for some lulz.
Kripp plz. Play a patron warlock. It's so much fun with patron + spreading madness.

Just played a deck of hard removal and some of the basic big minions and that did the job just fine.
I even did that while playing as Druid.
Well, I guess I suck then...
My free to play method was, Raging worgen, Inner rage, charge, Faceless manipulator. OTK turn 1with coin, if not just have all card draw/removal and use thaurissan on any 1 for the cards that cost mana.
A cool deck is warlock with only 4 and 6 cost minions. You always play 2 minions a turn and if you put more 4's than 6's you can tap some of the turns too.
"The Ancient One" should read "Opponent cannot surrender".

New idea for an effect for The Ancient One:

I got THE DREAM with C'thun Rogue. Bounced Blade of C'thun every turn clearing all his minions. Got it up to 58/70! The last turn he played deathwing and was at full health with 11 armor. Dat C'thun didn't even break a sweat.
I played this brawl 2 times.
Both times, I had Varian Wrynn in my opening hand and they conceded right away.
I've been playing Yogg Token Druid, it works kinda well honestly, and it's really fun.
I get suprising good reslouts with Raffam. Most deck in this brawl are good at countering few big minions, but not so at countering full board of 3/3 mumies :) .
Krip, I don't know how you manage to put out 2 videos a day, but it's pretty fucking cool.
Miracle Rouge. Mulligan for Gadgetzan and you can draw your whole deck in 2 turns. Conceal with Edwin and GG!

I actually managed to get a ton of value out of Herald Volazj, He is so much more powerful if there aren't any barriers between you and his combos.
Step 1: Play Varian Wrynn
Step 2: Get Ysera, Y'shaarj and Sylvanas
Step 3: Your opponent concedes
My strongest deck was hunter beast , was like 70% win rate. You can just play charge into taunt minions and wild etc.
Something to make more people play Blood of the Ancient One.

I had insane success playing murloc pally
Turn 1 Ragnaros the Firelord is pretty sweet. Very fun Brawl, regardless of who wins.
BGH + Loatheb going second is a pretty decent play this brawl.
Aggressive Hunter with starving buzzard and tundra rhino works well for a free to pay deck. Aviana and Naga Sea Witch are also powerful.
This was my first tavern brawl way back when and it took 8 hours to get a win because I had no legendaries, going up against all legendaries.
I wish they would have a tavern brawl with all chargers

Pulled a Black Knight from this Brawl plus a Soggoth partially from the 10 gold for my 50th legend. I went 3-1 with a legendary deck.

Not too fond of build your own deck Brawls, but this one does, to some degree, allow for some creativity, so at least there's that.

I've literally had 10 games with Naga Sea witch into YS into an 8-10 drop with Alextraza on turn 2. Sooooo much gold.
this tavern Brawl on playing Shaman with murlocs it's so over powered. then you can both of them as well with rage and it turn to super funny
I have not lost a single game as priest, unless playing against another priest (besides the time when my yogseron cast tree of life and i had a auchenai on the board XD)
45 wins and about a 75% win rate with mid range hunter running charge rhino, starving buzzard, 2 deadly shots, 2 kill commands, all beasts plus 1 ram wrangler. Loses hard to heavy control. Also, games don't last more than 3 turns typically so it's quick!
I play Mage with all Frost spells, demented frostcaller and gadgetzan auctioneer. 80% Win against everything minion based.
Only legendary: archmage anthonidas.
Y'Shaarj turn 1 auto-concedes are the best.
