Just got my new limbs on Tuesday. Mathews is definitely a stand up company for owning up and catching this. Wish it was sooner but hey there’s hiccups with every company. Glad you posted this and straightforward with it. With all that said, definitely my favorite bow from Mathews yet. The most accurate bow I’ve shot and without a doubt ready to get after it this season despite the small hiccup, I believe this is a reason why you should put ur trust into Mathews.

Nice share! Nice gesture by Mathews. This will greatly benefit those who like to update their bows every few years, and those who like to save some money by buying a slightly used bow. This is a win/win for everyone! It's nice to see a company owe up to a slight problem & address it in the best way possible. If we could just get our political leaders to do the same, the world might be a better place! That, however, might be a stretch & wishful thinking! Thanks for sharing the info!

I had a Mathews ZMax that was left outside in a bow case in July. The limbs were trash after that. Mathews sent Limbs , strings, and cables at no charge. The bow was 12 years old when that happened. I had a mishap with a poundage scale on my LIFT after 1 week of owning it. Demolished the cams , yolks, strings, and cables. Mathews replaced everything at no charge. After that I have shot at least 15,000 arrows through it. I started hearing about the limbs on the LIFT. Checked mine out… they were splintered. Took it to my bow shop. He had the new limbs in 2 days.
I have owned ONLY MATHEWS since that z max. On my 4th Mathews now. I will forever be a Mathews owner. Mathews makes nothing but good products. There are other VERY Good bows out there, but I am not sure if the bow companies are comparable to Mathews.

It made me soooo mad cause the bow I really wanted you gave a horrible review. (You can probably guess which one.) My heart was set on it. After your review and some others, I went with a PSE Mach 34 80 pounds from my local archery shop. I absolutely love it and am thankful I caught your channel before I bought a new bow. I’ve been shooting the lift since last march! I shoot 80lbs with a 30 inch draw! Since last march I have gone through 4 sets of limbs!! And I personally watched my dealer replace all the limbs that Mathew’s sent to him each time! On my fourth set of limbs Mathew’s gave me a brand new bow and wanted my bow to take back to the factory to do testing!! This is something Mathew’s very rarely does!! So yes this has been a bit of a nightmare for me, but will say Mathew’s has been extremely awesome to work with!! Each time within a couple days I would have a new set of limbs!! The way in which they handled this gives me complete confidence in them!!!

That is HUGE! Kudos to Mathews. To put it into perspective, there is a truck manufacturer, that as been building faulty transmissions, and using faulty systems in their vehicles, and they have known for years. Class action lawsuits that they have lost and lied in the proceedings of having a fix in so many years, never came to fruition. They basically even have the dealerships lying about it. Now they are under another class action lawsuit. They are not covering are fixing anything (LOL). So Mathews stepped up and stepped out there! .. Thank you for sharing. Keep doing exactly what you do.....Everything isn't for everyone, and in today's new internet access/keyboard everyone knows better world, someone is not going to agree. You guys are transparent, honest opinions and have admitted when you were wrong. It's great that they are finally admitting it. I have heard several dealers denying that there was an OEM issue for months and blaming it on user error. This doesnt change the fact that some people dont shoot there bows enough during the off season, and may end up finding a crack in the middle of hunting season. Then not have a bow for a week or 2 during season. If they really want to step up then they should be sending some limbs for dealers to keep in stock so they get the customer back up ASAP.

I own a 33 and sold a 29.5. I never had issues with my 29.5, but also didn’t have many arrows through it before selling either. I have gone through 2 sets of limbs with my 33, both on the lower limbs. I watched the podcast with Tim and yourself and the only thing I disagreed with you on was the amount of shots it takes for this issue to show itself. I got my second set of limbs right before CO TAC and was able to shoot 5 courses and all three days at the practice range and then came home and shot a local course. So I had roughly 300+ arrows through these limbs before they splintered. Not the 50+ you mentioned on the podcast. Other than that, I love this bow. It feels rock solid and stable and looking forward to getting in the woods with it this fall and winter!

Just out of curiosity....is there a way we can know the cause of this issue? Was it a flaw in the manufacturing process or something a press or etc. caused.
My personal opinion which may not be true at all but in the Lifts I have dealt with including my own, I have noticed that bows with the limb pocket bolts not fully seated seem to be the culprit. My personal bow has the bolts in as far as they will go and I have had no issue, this is the same result with a couple of the customers I have had. I am not sure if the vibration of the limbs in the limb pocket not being fully seated is causing the cracking but it is the only thing I can think of besides a manufacturing defect.

I don't really care which one it is, I just would like to know. Them supporting the lift limbs in the secondary market, is another only time will tell. How long that will go.

Honestly this makes me so happy. I bought a second hand lift from an older gentleman who just couldn’t handle the draw cycle. He bought it and shot it a few times. I was so upset when I heard about this issue and that I wouldn’t be covered. What an upstanding response from Mathews

I still have my first Matthews, the 3-D Hunter, one of the first productions. And I own a lift haven’t had any issues with either one of those bows. Don’t expect to have any issues. However sometimes there is an issue with company. It will be taken care of thank you Josh For your honest feedback. God bless and keep on keeping on.

Was working for a polaris dealer, new sled came out! Month and a half after many engines were blowing up! So we ordered new pistons that they had plenty in stock. Checked everything re builted the engine and same issue hapenning again until they when out of pistons stock at the company! The problem was the piston manufacturing ! So until they could get new pistons made back in stock, it was a long time! Dont really like mathews produc and pricing. But the move they did is top-notch for their dealers and customers ! Awsome job to mfjj and tim for the coverage of that issue. That suprise vid from mfjj with the letter is pretty much a statement that he is not biased ! Thanks for what you are doing for the archery community! ✌️🤟👌👍🎯♥️🇨🇦

This is why I own a Mathews, I purchased my first Mathews in 1996 with the Feather Max and have never owned another companies compound bow since. They make a great product and they aren't afraid to stand behind that product. #ProudMathewsOwner

Glad they figured it out. That was a real stand-up move to send out that letter extending the limb warranty to second-generation owners. I don't personally own a Mathews bow, but their bows are solid, I was so impressed by what they did with the Lift this year.

I’m not surprised by Mathew’s response to fix this problem. I bought my first Mathew’s bow around 1997 and the limbs folded due to leaving it in my truck during the hot summer and they sent another set of limbs no questions asked.

I have owned two Mathews (current is V3X 33 - like it!), and I had issues with my Reezen 6.5 and no questions they stood behind their product and replaced parts even when it was my fault. They, I think, by far have the best warranty and support the user beyond whats expected. To extend to second hand owners is BIG. Kudos to Mathews.

Great job to Mathews for responding so well! Then to stand by the bow for the second owner is awesome. Not sure if I am hearing what specifically was the issue in their troubles. Not just a generic answer. Like if an engineer looked at it, what would the engineer say was the specific cause of the limb issue. I would want to know that before getting one. For me, despite Mathews being a really good company and even standing behind their product, should I purchase a Lift, I would want to get one fresh, after the remedy has taken place. I would want one with a serial # that was post fixing the problem. Like ordering a custom one just for me, from scratch. Like ordering one today, and getting it in October or whatever. I just would not want to take a chance on getting one from the batch that was bad. Even if they would fix it.

I was considering buying a Lift, until my dealer said matthews will NOT warranty your limbs if the rubber wears out between the limbs. Is this true? They say rubber parts on a bow aren't covered under warranty... I figured I'd give it another 3 years to see how the rubber between the limbs holds up. It is rubber, and rubber wears out, it's just a matter of time.

That’s the right way to remedy this issue. I’m sure that warranty doesn’t cover the cost for swapping out the limbs/resetting up the bow, but it’s definitely the right approach from Matt and Mathew’s. 👍

Totally off topic of the limb issues, how do the Podium bars do as fas as vibration reduction? I've tried a bunch of different stabilizers and so far have landed on Axcel Antler ridge stabs. They even out preformed the bridglock bars. Really want to find the absolute best bar for vibration reduction and stability

Josh, do you know if the warranty replacement limbs are made/treated the same as the new Arc 7 limbs? To fix the splinter problems. (Without limb shift of course)

  • @jwild5360
    @jwild5360 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

So they gave out the warranty that should be given out from day one like many other companies with transferable warranties? Lol broke 2 lift limbs myself
They clearly havnt told you or anyone else what the “fix” is nor are they sending new limbs that are “fixed” I’ve been through 2 sets and know others that have been through multiple new sets of limbs so clearly they’ve not made a change and probally won’t be making a change until 2025.
When I spoke to them direct last week about my new limbs I was specifically told the replacement limbs are the exact same limb zero changes.
We had a good chuckle about how every dealer claims they have some “inside info” and have it figured out lol
Good on them for making a statement though.

Good on Mathews for this response. Would love to see this warranty extend to future models considering the high cost of new flagship bows and the prevalence of used bows being shot in the field. I understand why it’s always been the way it has (I was a dealer for multiple big brands for a number of years,) but I would love to see this shift in the market.

my experience with Matthews: if you have a longer draw length AND shoot a higher poundage (DL and Lbs results in higher energy stored in the limbs), AND shoot a lot (not just the occasional hunting trip) of arrows: there is a good chance that the limbs will splinter after approx. 6000 shots. And while - I'm on my 3 set of limbs now - Matthew is honouring their warranty, it is a PITA till they arrive at the dealer.

Are the limbs the same? Meaning the 29.5 limbs can go on the 33? Had a shop tell me that
