  • Yes that's right, another video on Cyberpunk 2077. I decided to change a few things from the last video but the essence of it is the same - in fact about 90% of it is the same. This is more of a reorganisation with less fluff, some slight differences and a bit more honesty from myself. Enjoy... or don't.

    11:35 u might be the only person I’ve heard say “I don’t wanna dwell on the shoulda coulda woulda” in a cyberpunk video lol extremely refreshing o hear.. most people’s entire critiques revolve around what should’ve been, could’ve been, or what the game isn’t .. when u just stay focused on what rhe game actually is rather than what it didn’t do, you might realize just how much of a Gem cyberpunk is

      Spot on. Many games reviewers have slipped into talking about what they want instead of critiquing based on what was given. This was very refreshing and reminded me of old school IGN, GameSpot.

    I challenged myself to complete every non scripted mission with melee weapons only, it inadvertently made me discovery alot more option for traversal and lore from people talking since I was constantly in melee range

    I can validate the bugs, performance, refinements, and build quality will no longer interfere with your opinion of the game. I've made many attempts after every major patch since bought on release and cannot get into it. I wish they would have focused on cyber punk emphasis than spending time to make a massive open world that competes with gta.

    Man i feel like big, world- changing story events get boring after 2 or 3 playthroughs, but with the more subtle, character -focused approach, its waaaaaay more interesting even in whats probably my 30th playthrough. Not to mention, almost two years off of making your video, they are adding in alot of the changes you said that you wanted to see in here. Id be really interested to see what you think after ohantom liberty drops

    In this age of gaming, some games are given a second chance. It's rare but it happens, Cyberpunk 2077 could return down the line but for now, the game is still toxic. A product that overpromised and delivered less.

    The question is, how much of what people claim was promised was actually promised? Certain reports like 1000s of NPCs with daily cycles I only see evidence of from one dude translating a german podcast, but it got covered as if it was a CD Projekt announcement. We don't even know if that was a correct translation, and it seems like it wasn't. There are 1000s of NPCs, mainly because they are randomly generated, but many of the regular ones do have a cycle, like Judy. They also act a bit differently depending on the time. People say CDPR lied about there being choices in mission, but there are. CDPR also said that the life paths would change the intro and provide dialog options. But people swear that they said that each life path would VASTLY change the game, which it never did. Having different stats can also allow you to bypass some combat or the like too. But no... it's a linear action game according to some people. Insane.
    That and many gigs do have a lot of different ways to complete them, as was mentioned in the video. Not to mention how incredibly different builds can feel depending on what you want to do. I did a mantis blade high body build as a 2nd playthrough and it was massively different than my quickhack corpo first run.

    I just wish the world felt more real and immersive as it is Nightcity is a series of hallways that look like streets. I watch NPCs doing all these fun things and wonder why I can't. Of it does get a sequel I would like to see more of that added. Let me explore buildings,watch BDs,drink,Fish ,gamble ect.

      What I’m realizing more often while playing, is what you are describing is a Rockstar open world sandbox game. Rockstar has so little competition in games like these that we all have the expectation they should ALL be like that. Red dead 2 goes so hard in the paint to let you do any mundane thing you can think of that now we as gamers expect that in every game.
      However, CDPR totally fucked themselves with their immense number of “promises.” They should have said “we are LOOKING into MAYBE adding ”

    One criticism I have of Stealth in Cyberpunk 2077 is how pointless it feels when compared to full-guns-blazing approach.
    For one, it is inconsequential in most cases and even when missions require you to remain "undetected" so that bugs you plant are not revealed, it is still ok in them to kill people and destroy stuff, which apparently does not reveal that you tampered with things. This is especially aggreviating in the mission with Takemura when you hack into Arasaka's flying float. You'd think that going guns blazing should clue in Arasaka to check if something was sabotaged and result in mission failure or at least some consequences in the future. Nope.
    The other thing is, that there is no reason to go stealth when oftentimes simply killing people is easier and faster. It's not Deus Ex Mankind Divided when raising alarm had serious immediate consequences by having whole base on your four letters, and a single soldier could kill you with 2 shots.
    Fortunately the second problem can be fixed with proper mod selection - it does make all the difference.

    • @xdress1746
      @xdress1746 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why not both.
      When you get good enough with stealth and invest enough into it, you can quite literally leap over everyone's heads, throw a couple knives, blast somebody in the face point blank and still not get detected.

    • @SayMy_User_Name
      @SayMy_User_Name ปีที่แล้ว

      But the only reason mankind divided works this way and cyberpunk doesn’t, is because all our combat in mankind divided is so bad lol in cyberpunk stealth is just as viable as all our combat and vice verse.. though I do agree in certain missions, like the arasaka, it doesn’t make logical sense ro go in there loud .. but I see it as the devs not wanting to limit ur play in any given mission, u can play how u want and it won’t cause u to fail a mission, which can also be very annoying when a game forces u to play a certain way, especially if ur build doesn’t accommodate it

    • @mreszotnik
      @mreszotnik ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SayMy_User_Name IDK, Mankind Divided had pretty stellar combat to me, you just could not play like like your average shooter since Jensen can be taken down by a few bullets. It resembled more of a tactical shooter like Ghost Recon series. Except there were whole upgrades that improve combat capabilities, Aim, Damage Resistance, extra borg weapons, etc.
      Maybe it's just me but I prefer my MCs to not be bullet-spongy so considering between stealth vs combat makes sense. That is actually true to P&P Cyberpunk game where your MC can be taken down by a single bullet. But in Cyberpunk 2077 stealth is just underbaked. There is potential in some missions, but it is almost always better to go guns blazing. You will actually gain less XP if you do Stealth vs. killing everything that you encounter.

    • @SayMy_User_Name
      @SayMy_User_Name ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mreszotnik yeah, I mean ur arguments make sense, when I played mankind divided I felt like stealth was always the more viable option than all our combat .. where as in cyberpunk it’s the opposite.. it would be extremely difficult to make a game where the 2 approaches r both equally viable, usually it’s gonna end up skewing one way or the other

    I don't agree that this game is toxic. I have played this game for over 1500 hours, I have never played a game as much as I have played this game. I go to play other games and end up coming back to this one and either play from where I left off or start another play through. I have played all paths, all ending, and with both male and female V. I do prefer the female V as I think the voice actor for that character is better, and I prefer the romance options with her. You can only romance Panam as male V and even with that it is not nearly as satisfying as with Judy.
    1.6 is probably coming out next week and I am looking forward to it and to the expansion coming out next year. I am sure I will still be playing the game up and after the expansion.
    I too have only played on PC and never had any issues even from the first release. Most of the glitches were more comical than game breaking. I never heard the pre game hype and promises so I was never upset for what I didn't know I didn't get. It is a fabulously beautiful game and is IMO one of the best games of all time.

    I disagree with your take on Johnny's motivations being unclear. He doesn't bomb Arasaka because of frustration or simple anti-capitalist intentions (even though it looks like that at first glance.)
    Silverhand bombs Arasaka because of what happens with Alt, both her death in 2013, and Arasaka capturing her digital ghost to force her to design Soulkiller 3.0 to figure out a way how to capture "souls". What happens with Alt and Soulkiller are the events that catalyze and galvanize Johnny's decisions to go all in against Arasaka.
    Johnny really was just a punk rocker boy with the typical chip on his shoulder against corps. Sure, his military experience made him a capable gun-for-hire, and his political ideas made him have a very specific take on the jobs he took and the people he surrounded himself with, but before Alt's death and Soulkiller's discovery, all he had was just the standard conspiranoid theories about corps, nothing really actionable.
    After that, it's hard not to justify Johnny's nuking of Arasaka. He knew then, as he does when he talks to V, that Soulkiller, now Mikoshi, is the moral event horizon that a corp should never cross, and his very existence is a constant reminder of the hell Arasaka is trying to unleash.

    some people are so resentful and petty. One thing is the business practices, and other the product and vision itself. You totally should hold accountable the people responsible for the game launch. But the extremely talented and passionate people that got this world to life does deserve a fair opportunity. And all i can't say is CDPR really cares for their product and their players, and it shows. They have been patching a broken game for the past two years just to get it where it belongs, and i think they deserve credit for that. Remember that the people who manage the company and the people who makes the games are usually two different types of people.

    Perception for me was very tainted- until just very recently. Once I pushed myself playing to the point of decking out in cyberware it really changed the game in a whole new way. After getting double jump, while doing gigs I was constantly reminded of playing the dishonored series, which I hold to high regard. It has something great in it but it takes a lot of ignoring to finally see it.

    There's no point in arguing human behaviour as every person thinks for themselves and have their own expectations of the product. Some will like it some won't, the thing that can't be denied is CDPR lied, they made a beautiful looking city, Cyberpunk is not an RPG (changed as action adventure in their twitter profile later) thus very little impact upon the story as a whole compared to any other previous titles from them, heck even the Witcher 1 that came out in 2006 has more complicated story arcs in its first level itself, they made working vehicle system which is new thing for them and ofcourse first person with no cuts, a very challenging thing to do as a game developer, does it make the game better is rather debatable, very short main campaign and no side activities and minigames to add replayability, (by side activities and minigames i am not comparing it with GTA or any other open world sandbox game but their previous titles the Witcher trilogy) as an artist myself my teacher used to tell me to never compare your works with others but with your own past work and see if you got better, learn from it and never do the mistakes that you did during that time. I hope the future of CDPR is bright, their rebel nature in the industry is what got me liking them, they went against DRM, the games they produced were mature and unhindered by real world western politics that is seeping into every single game the west is producing these days. They would never shy away from topics that others would cover their eyes from. So yes this is coming from a super old fan and i hope CDPR gets back to its roots. Looking forward to the next cyberpunk expansion and Witcher game.

    One thing i like too is that you don't really know what the safe oprions for dialogue is saying the nicest thing doesn't actually reward you with the best outcomes all the time, Johnny for instance actually respects you more sometimes when you're blunt or edgy with him and that can have a huge difference with him specifically.

    Witcher 3 is favorite game ever so I was an obvious mark for Cyberpunk marketing. I bought at release on Xbox one , so I get the anger. I waited til I got an Series S and a 60 fps was released. Haven't stopped playing since . Haven't been this immersed since Witcher 3 and Kingdom come. Feel bad for anyone who is a fan of this game never hearing of Dues ex . Last 2 games were amazing.
