I think Beck wrote this for his son - who was around 2 at the time. It is a strange sort of lullaby, encompassing the notion that we want to keep our kids safe forever - yet it is our own difficulties in life that make us stronger....so the best you can wish for your child is that they face those things when they come along, but always keep the feeling and knowledge of your love with them. That's what i think anyway.

This song always made me think of death as a kid. I would stay up for hours on end just thinking of dying with this song playing in the back of mind. Still super strange listening to it today. Even though this song messed me up as a kid it and E-pro are two of my all time favorites
