Guru Nanak was a peaceful person who started Sikhism. It became so popular that the Muslims started feeling threatened. So, they killed most of the Sikh Gurus in most gruesome manner. It was Guru Gobind Singh who called upon all Indians to stand up to fight the Muslims. All Hindu families gave their eldest son to the Army which was called the Khalsa Army. Point to note is that all SIR NAMEs of Hindus who joined Khalsa Army were never changed. Hindu Jats who became Sikh Jats still having 100% common SIR NAMES, so also Rajputs. The genes of Hindus and Sikhs are common as they belong to the same stock. It is only abroad that ISI has succeeded in creating a trouble called Khalistan by bribing the influential Granthis of various Gurudwaras creating problem which will surely die a natural death at the earliest.

Zuzana, I very much request you to watch some podcasts related to Hinduism.. The core and the concept of Hinduism is very complex, not surprising if people can't understand it one go.. The concepts of Hinduism are more about realising than understanding.. It's got everything, science from cosmos to geometry to inner science and spirituality
@@zuzanareacts @20:50 you ask a very valid question- why have so many Gods; even though the central belief is one… while I am no scholar, the one explanation I know and agree somewhat is this. We cannot realize truth if it remains abstract. We, in our baby steps on spirituality, need a form to adhere to- that is how the one formless Brahman got converted to many relatable forms/ Gods with their own distinct identities. A spiritual follower, in his/her journey towards Brahman, may seek likeness in form/thoughts/teachings of one Hindu God and eventually find Moksha… In short, the multiple forms of Gods are just to ease the spiritual journey of humans towards Brahman- each human may find solace in a form that appeals best to him/ her because ultimate reality is just one- Brahman! Does that make sense? 😅 Hope it does 😊
11:00 this is the only Dharma (relegion) which allows Questions ❓ infact Entire Bhagavad Geeta is full of arjuna's questions and Krishna's answers. remember Krishna never forced to anyone to believe him. why because he is the truth.
Dharma(Righteousess) has an inclusive definition and has 5 pillars to it namely:- GYAAN (knowledge) , DHAIRYA (patience), PREM (love) , SAMARPAN (Dedication), NYAAY (justice). If a being wants to stay in line with Dharma he should always abide by these 5 virtues 😇

"Hindu-ism" is a word coined by the West to denote the religion which thre Hindus (people living in and around the Indus valley civilization), follow. The correct name for the religion is "Sanatana Dharma"
There are no castes in Vedic Dharm. Infact the word Caste is from portugese word Casta. We have Varna, means something that you acquire. In ancient times, all students used to go to Gurukul i.e. kind of School. In Gurukul, your gurus i.e. teachers would give you your varna, based upon your qualities which actually happens today also all around the world. If a kid is studious, then he is given the Varna of Brahman. If a kid is strong and has courage,he is given the varna of Kshatriya,i.e. Warrior. If a kid is good in business,in economics,he is Vaishya i.e. Businessman. If a kid fails in all tests and guru sees no above mentioned talents in him,he becomes Shudra means kind of helper to other varnas. It doesn't mean that his kid will also become a shudra,he can also become brahman if his guru sees it in him. But yes,now this system has got some flaws. Now the varna has become birth based. If a kid is born to a brahman,he becomes Brahamn by default which is actually against Vedas.
In India we have almost all religions living here from ages, but Hinduism is the only religion that doesn't had any war on the basis of religion...we consider other religions also for connecting to God.
Dharm is Duty. Suppose you are a Doctor, then treating your patient with full honesty,is your Dharm. A person has multiple Dharm or duties,as he is a father,a son,a brother etc etc.Fulfilling your duties is Dharm. Now coming to the mistakes in the video...There are no sacrificial things in Vedas. 26:50 caste system unfortunately became that way but wasn't intended that it way a functioning hierarchy just to maintain a order in society which did so and literally helped India to become rich in Early ancient period before Manu (This is a title not name) after which it was been exploited to gain power then European colonizers further exploited it to break Indian society and it did work (that's a simple idea though but if you want to know the truth Highly recommended series : prachyam Sahebs who never left)
There is a lot of contradiction on Manusmriti, because Manu ji says at one place that the house where women are not worshipped, that house gets ruined and at another place he speaks bad for the woman. The reason for this is the Invader. They adulterated this book so that Hindus could be divided and they could be made slaves.

20:44 u r very right . And the answer to this is Because hindus dont follow vedas. They follow puranas which is a complete different thing and has nothing to do with sanatan vedic dharm. Rama and krishna worshipped supreme god or ishwar ( whose best name is om 🕉) and vishnu shiva saraswati are all used to describe qualities of that supreme god for eg:- saraswati means one who is knowledgeable, lakshmi means one who is wealthy , vishnu means one who preserve, shiva means one who destroys. These all names are used in vedas to describe one god some more names are agni,vayu,etc.. but puranas created different gods with those qualities. In todays india only 1-2% hindus follow vedic dharm. In ramayan and mahabharat it is written that rama and krishna did yagya ( or hawan) everyday in 4:00 a.m in the morning but todays india rarely anyone will do hawan or yagya. At last i want to tell u that our dharma real name is sanatana vedic dharma we were called arya in mahabharata and ramayan times even bhagwam Raam was called Aryaputra( son of a noble man) and our country name was aryavart. Well, many of my friends had intercaste marriages,it basically depends of your parents lmao, nowadays parents are actually reading the books and they are realising that it was never written in Vedas to discriminate lol,so we are seeing the tilt in thinking right now
Hinduism is all about learning through questions, before Britishers invaded India, our school system was called "Gurukul", in which there used to be a subject called "tarkshashtra" meaning "Sanskrit term for the philosophy of dialectics, logic and reasoning, and art of debate that analyzes the nature and source of knowledge and its validity." In Bhagwata Gita, there is a long conversation between Arjuna and Lord Krishna in form of question and answers, Arjuna asks the question to Krishna and he answers them. Also a unique point about Hinduism is that, you may not believe in any God i.e. you may remain atheist but you still be called Hindu or Sanatani. Hindu's don't convert a person. It's not in our scriptures as when Sanatana Dharma originated there was no mention of religion, Sanatana Dharma is a way of life ☯️. You may feel free to ask more questions about it. But I would request you to read Bhagwat Gita once, I'm sure you'll get all your answers.
Though he explained the caste system well, there are certain clarifications: 1) Earlier, when it originated in the Rig veda, it was based on qualities and not birth, and is referred as Varna System (and not Caste System) 2) Later, when on the basis of Manusmriti, the division became locked on the basis of birth, it was called Caste System. Caste System is not preferred, whereas, Varna System is preferred because it is on the basis of qualities and skills. 3) The untouchables was no concept in Varna System, but became a concept in Caste System and was a part of Caste System, not outside it. 4) Today, constitution prohibits the practice of untouchability in absolute terms.
What clarify he said good cast system was expertise in one individual,if he is good in Puja he can be Brahman &if he is good in metal works he sudra..but that changed after manu appeared no change of cast one born in cast forever remain so.. can't interchange...he said good, touch your nose straight or round your head same..😮

Upanishads are not rejection of vedas, the way Upanishads framed is question and answer format between guru abd shisya(student), which without understanding this context looks like they are rejecting vedas but it is not in conflict with vedas, and Upanishads are old and they are not written after vedas, they are frist, for practical application of Upanishads in one's life, vedas is there to follow, and for explaining the Upanishads concepts ithihasa is written with fusion of historical events takenplace in ancient india to reach the common massess
Dharma can also be translated roughly to duty. And the dharma (which is different for every individual) that preserves balance in society and the universe, is the eternal dharma for an individual, the Sanatan Dharma.
A doctors dharma is to help his patients, a soldier's dharma is to protect, a kings dharma is to serve his citizens. Dharma means following their proper duty. Like a sons dharma is to care for their parents in their old age
but is it in a positive way - as it I struggle with the word duty which does not have a positive connotation - I'd rather use the purpose. Lot of people in the west are in the search for meaning.
20:50 Here is why people worship gods not the universal soul: - 1. We are part of the universal soul and that the universal soul doesn't teach us about dharma. (it's like creation/ godly particle). 2. Some people worship Krisha and follow Bhagavad gita which they think/helps them to get MOKSHA. some people worship Shiva and Vishnu (means all his avatars including Krishna) because they are cosmic entity/representation of universal soul.
Hinduism doesn't start with a person or a book and no one knows when did it starts and what we call today sanatan dharm it is assimilation of different ideologies and relegiius practices that built in thousand of years and it is ever growing and changes according to time and krishna saya whoever you are worshipping it doesn't matter because your prayers will eventually leads to me

I understood your question but To answer this I have give an eg: We are born different with different personalities where it's easier for us to connect with someone while it is also difficult to connect with others so It is your choice to accept divine in any form where every god/goddess or (dev/devi) are manifestation of divine Some can connect with divine feminine, some can with divine masculine and some need balance in divinity. Also some connect with nature so that is why such a old civilizational religion is still been practiced

The easiest meaning of Dharma is Duty.. Like a doctor's duty is to treat patients.. Now he may have some personal problems in his life but that doesn't stop him from doing his duty as Doctor. Even if he thinks bad about his patient with whom he may have some issues but still the doctor will treat him because it's his duty.. Well there was the misunderstanding regarding symbolism about Caste(First of all there is no caste but Vanra i.e, Class and it is in every society ) But the symols was that 1) Brahman is made from head meaning Intellectual class 2) Kshatriyas from Arms meaning Warrior class 3) Vaishyas from Belly meaning Economic class as they mainly fill the stomach(economy) of the body(society) 4) Lastly Shudras from feet meaning Labour class , entire body(society) moves forward with them as it is they who provide manual work though less appreciated but very imp. part of body (society).

You asked if we believes in Brahmha then what's the need of other Gods... Here I would like to explain why we worship so many different Gods and Goddesses... As we all think and realize things differently so when we Imagine the concept of Brahmha we need one form as without any form it is very hard to realize (Sanatan Dharma is the way to realization of truth)and as all the humans nature is different and they conceive things differently ,their opinions ,understandings are different that's why we worship so many different Gods and Goddesses to realize that truth easily (Conceptualization of Brahmha in a form).... and also there is Believers of formless Brahmha in our Dharma...
About your question regarding the following of Brahman and thereby also worshipping different gods is not really in contradiction. As talked about in the video, Brahman is actually all energy source that runs the universe. But this energy comes in different forms around us in the form of the Sun, Trees, Animals as well as in the form of our own different traits like Intelligence, Knowledge, Empathy, Music, Art, etc. (which we know is not equally distributed among all and therefore needs to be respected and worshipped). In order to get aligned with the universal energy source or divine, we need to follow the dharma. But, this dharma is also not uni-dimensional and therefore changes for your different association. For example, the student's dharma being to study and learn. But to achieve it, the student may know that "knowledge" itself is a form of that universal energy and therefore should be respected. Hindu Gods are not just dieties but also symbolises the personification of the those traits that I mentioned above. For example, Goddess Saraswati: the goddess of knowledge, learning and music. So, if a student wants to learn something, he may first start worshipping Goddess Saraswati and therefore worshipping the knowledge that it may come to him/her. We Hindus therefore worship different Gods for their different traits and recognizing that those traits are just manifestations of the universal divine Brahman. So, worshipping these Gods help us following our dharma and therefore achieving Moksha as the end goal.
Hinduism is not religion it's philosophy. The religion hindus follow is Sanatan Dharma. Initially there was only sanatan dharma but it was made more complicated by priestly class that led to emergence of shramana tradition like buddhism, jainism, ajivika and more. Dharma in simple word is said to be duty, humans duty is to maintain and preserve humanity just like our ecosystem. When Lord Shiva performs Tandav it leads to destruction of one universe and creation of another quite similar to destruction of star to form planetary nebula and then planet. When you observe incarnation of Lord Vishnu it clearly follows evolution of life on Earth. God is whatever in which you have belief that led to number of Gods(this is my theory for God not written anywhere I guess)
Indian Origin Religion should be Priority In India. Hindu is Oldest religion of the World ❤. 5000BC to 8000 BC older in compare to Islam and Christianity. So, Hindu is Father of All Religion ❤❤❤❤. Jai Shree Ram.
There is no such founder or prophet in Sanatan Dharma like it is for the Abrahamic religions, so no body knows about the actual time when it started. That's the beauty of Sanatan Dharma, it was present from the start of the universe and it will be present till the end of the universe as well. As it was never founded it will never end. It is eternal and never ending. 🇮🇳🚩🕉️
Vishnu's avatar shows the theory of evolution way before darwin . Ancient hindu text shows that they knew the earth was round, there are 9 planets in our solar system, they know the exact distance of the sun, the moon from the earth. For more you can react on, how the universe war created according to Hinduism.
These denomination is just on the basis of the God we want to worship or the family God. Also some people are very strict vegetarian and certain gods has sacrifice offering and they don't want to do that.
Dharma can be explained like this. Lets say you are a judge. The culprit front of you is your own child. Even if the punishment you need to pronounce is death , you must do it , since thats your dharma. You can go home and cry later😊. This is the meaning of "everyone faces difficult choices, we shouldn't deviate from dharma no matter how difficult it is".
19:55 I'll try to give you the best explanation I can about praying to multiple Gods and Goddesses.. A simple example would be, when you're at home, you might be a mother, someone's sister and someone's daughter, but at office you might assume the role of manager and boss around, at a shop you become the customer.. The roles might be different but the person is the same person, right? So in the same way, multiple Gods and Goddesses are just different branches of the same tree, you pick whichever branch you want of your choice, it'll lead you to the same tree that any other branch would.. Similarly, God assumes different roles as per requirement, and we humans give them different forms.. For example, Goddess Shakti or Lord Hanuman are the most powerful when it comes to getting rid of negative energies.. From my experience, energies of Shiv are silent and peaceful but very strong and powerful at the same time, similarly the energies I feel from Krishna are complete bliss, peace and powerful.. According to qualities of a particular deity, Hinduism let's you choose any God you want as per your choice with whom you feel connected the most, or you are free to pray to just Brahman, non-duality.. At the end, whichever God/Goddess you pray to, they will lead you to Brahman as they are Brahman themselves.. It's a hard concept to understand.. I hope I made it easy to understand 😊
See there are 2 things 1) Hinduism and 2)Sanatan Dharma Hindu was earlier just a geographical identity. There is a river called Sindhu ( Sanskrit word) , which the Persians couldn't pronounce. They pronounced "Sindhu" river as "Hindu" river. So the people living on the side of Sindhu river came to be known as Hindus ( i.e. us). Later it became a religious identity as well. In India we never had the concept or religion. Religion is a very Abrahmic concept which was brought to Bharat by the invaders. Instead of religion we had the concept of Dharma. Dharma can be roughly understood as duty. Let us try to understand dharma. Let us say a person is married and someone tries to harm his wife. It is his dharma to protect his wife at any cost including his life. If that person is also a politician , his dharma is to work for his people with honesty. Dharma is considered above god. Even if god says to do something which goes against your dharma, You should do what your dharma says. Because it is not god who is governing your life results, it is your dharma. Talking about belief/faith ,India is not a land of believers, It is a land of seekers. When someone says that they believe in god or they say they do not believe in god, actually there is not much of a difference between the two. Because both are just taking something as true even they do not know in reality that it is true or not.So faith or belief is not considered a big thing. Instead we say we do not know , when we accept that the fact the we do not know , there is a possibility to know otherwise they will be just stupid conclusions in our head. Also belief/faith can be really dangerous. Because i can believe something and you can believe something completely opposite. For e.g. i can believe god is male and you can believe god is female. And both of us gather some followers like a priest, clearly someday we will be at each other's throats ,it just a matter of time ,it has been already been happening earlier also and today as well. Seeking has been recommended before believing anything. Seeking truth/attaining moksha can be understood using concept of yoga See if i say Yoga , people in west generally understand as some physical exercise. But there is lot more to it. First let us understand literal meaning of Yoga. Yoga means union. Example 1: Suppose there is a meeting of foreign delegates of two countries, so when they sit for meeting together, it means they are physically coming together therefore this also yoga Example2: Suppose i am student of physics and i studied quantum mechanics. Now i understand quantum mechanics to some extent so this also a yoga. This is because quantum mechanics has become a part of me which is nothing but union. Yoga are of four types 1.Kriya Yoga(With the path of Kriya you are not only seeking realization you also want to know the mechanics of Life Making) 2.Gnana Yoga(what I know I know what I do not know I do not know) 3. Karma Yoga(if you can joyfully involve yourself in any activity that is Karm Yoga if you do it with great effort only Karma will come no Yoga will happen) 4. Bhakti Yoga ( if you use your emotions and try to reach the ultimate that means the path of devotion) You can understand this more using this video :- th-cam.com/video/gqKLI7Vn-5U/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Adiyogi or if you like to read then this:- isha.sadhguru.org/yoga/new-to-yoga/types-of-yoga/ So when invaders came with their religion , they couldn't figure out what we guys are and what religion we follow. Because every guy is worshipping different god. For us god is a medium to the truth. So god is considered very personal thing, you can imagine your own god, call him with the name you love to call him. Because at the end the relationship is very personal . Hence there are so many gods goddesses in India. We know that everything is just a reflection of the ultimate. The creator is in everything. Some people might confuse us that we believe in existence of multiple gods. But it is the same ultimate truth in various forms with different names. Also some didn't worship any god, they are also hindus. Continuing the story Some didn't believed in god , some believed, many were seeking truth on their own, some under supervision of guru. So a Hindu can be anything from theist , atheist, agnostic, seeker and everything in between. Because we are hindus, we today say we belong to Hindu religion otherwise we are santanis. If you really wish to understand india you should learn about sanatan dharma that too from an authentic source. A random youtuber that too a westerner has a very low probability that he/she can give you even a right idea about Sanatan Dharma. Right source from my view is Sadhguru. He is a yogi.whatever littilest😂 i know or will know is through him only.. This is Sadhguru's channel :- th-cam.com/video/jbUHzLNkOiM/w-d-xo.html You might get overwhelmed by the list of books listed to study in Hinduism. One book which is most recommended is Bhagvat Gita.
The Indian eternal culture of India is the soft power which attracts the whole world. It is on the strength of its culture that India is touching the heights of progress as a united nation. 🇮🇳
Talking about cast, people most of the times confuse cast with 2 different words, those are Varnaa and Jaati, now Varnaa is the one which he mentioned here that society is categorised according to 4 major groups Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, and Shudra, if we try to translate it in best way it is like four major categories of professions in today's world, so if one wants to marry it's best to marry someone having same profession as you as the pertner will better understand your problems and vice-versa, so it's recommended to marry in same Varna, now coming to Jaati, jaati is more of an identity of origin of that perticular race of Hinduism, and this generally defines the God you might worship, like am from Rajasthan from a village where we worship Devi (goddess) Shakti, and have a lifestyle according to the weather conditions and geography of Rajasthan, so this is what Jaati is, marrying in the same Jaati helps one to accomodate in family traditions in a better manner, but inter Jaati marriages have always happened as even the royal marriages since long past have been inter Jaati, so ya inter Jaati has always been relevant during ancient times, but there's a difference here as well some Jaati people are easy going with inter Jaati marriages but in some they tend to do it in Jaati only cause this helps in keeping traditions alive.
Every other religion, has a date when it started, like for example Christianity started after Jesus Christ, Islam was created by Mohammad, but the thing about Hinduism or Sanatan Dharma is that it does not have a starting date or a founder.. It has been for ages, passed on orally or through scriptures..
Brahman is the one true reality...... But it manifests itself in different forms, And there's no hyarachy, all are same..... It's just a way of understanding brahman better...... Bcs brahman is unexplainable, ultimate divine..... So in order to know about him, brahman manifests itself in different forms.... If it makes any sense....Btw it's totally fine if u just believe in only Brahman itself.... Core belief of Hinduism is acceptance and tolerance and non- violence that's why we don't get into silly conflicts about whatever you believe in..... All kind of thoughts are welcomed here❤😊
Santana Dharma has six school of thoughts and these school of thoughts are based on VEDA (oldest book). so these school of thoughts based religion later said HINDU religion. but actually its santana Dhama.
The caste system is based on the 4 classical psychological types , all classical civilisations knew about this, the greeks certainly did. Carl Jung probably describes the types best. The castes are great huge "brotherhoods" of specializations . Specific lifestyles have evolved for specific occupations. So the buisness community has a certain way they live , food they eat etc, the teachers have their own as do the warriors. These are followed "loosely" to an extent even today.
Vishnu ji don't have 2wifes actually. Vudebi is a wife of vishnu ji's one avatar. But ultimately devi lakshmi is vishnuji's actual wife. We haven't 1000of gods. Actually we have 33 type of gods in our ancient hindu text. There it said "33 koti" Means 33type of gods. Koti means not crore which many people mistakes but in sanskrit, koti means type. And yea also we can get almost 1000of god names if we consider all their avatars. ❤
I m not to religious but the amount of knowledge in hinduism has is limitless From black magic to moksha to aghori to ayurveda to yoga All these things look scary but u will find sadhus in himalayas who are bare foot without clothes meditating in places where normal person cant even stand even after wearing multiple layers because they have achieved moksha and are disconnected from the world
Rigidity in caste system (by birth) became a direct result of corruption, nepotism..... But u have to understand how old Hinduism really is..... The system got corrupted at some point...... But today caste system is gone for a long long time!!..... Buddhism and Jainism played it's role too in ending that corruption, as "Lower caste" people started migranting to Buddhism and Jainism..... So it led to reform in Hinduism....... In fact Buddhism (500BC) and Jainism ( nearly same time ) was born out of Hinduism mainly due to caste system!!...... There's one more religion came out of hinduism called "Sikhism", much later during the genocide and oppression of Hindus by Islamic invaders..... Sikhs were worriors who protected hindus but mainly Buddhists and jains (peaceful communities, who were against violence at all) ......We all religions originated in India has huge respect for each other bcs we all contributed to our society in some way or the other....... That's why u see unity in diversity in india so strongly in india, unlike any other place!.... No wars in between these 4 religions originated in India throughout history....... Islamic invaders and European colonizers (Abrahamic faiths) are different stories tho......
In Hinduism we believe in multiple forms of God, so we respect Jesus as a form of God... That's y Hindus can live with ny other communities peacefully around the world nd also respect other cultures (for example- recently muslim refugees burn a old church in France just like they broke many temples and schools in ancient India)...
I think this answers the question you asked at 19:49 : "The universe makes sense to me through Hindu eyes. There is Brahman, the world soul, the sustaining frame upon which is woven, warp and weft, the cloth of being, with all its decorative elements of space and time. There is Brahman nirguna, without qualities, which lies beyond understanding, beyond description, beyond approach; with our poor words we sew a suit for it-One, Truth, Unity, Absolute, Ultimate Reality, Ground of Being-and try to make it fit, but Brahman nirguna always bursts the seams. We are left speechless. But there is also Brahman saguna, with qualities, where the suit fits. Now we call it Shiva, Krishna, Shakti, Ganesha; we can approach it with some understanding; we can discern certain attributes-loving, merciful, frightening;-and we feel the gentle pull of relationship. Brahman saguna is Brahman made manifest to our limited senses, Brahman expressed not only in gods but in humans, animals, trees, in a handful of earth, for everything has a trace of the divine in it.

The concepts of Hinduism are more about realising than understanding.. It's got everything, science from cosmos to geometry to inner science and spirituality
sure! would love to.
A spiritual follower, in his/her journey towards Brahman, may seek likeness in form/thoughts/teachings of one Hindu God and eventually find Moksha…
In short, the multiple forms of Gods are just to ease the spiritual journey of humans towards Brahman- each human may find solace in a form that appeals best to him/ her because ultimate reality is just one- Brahman!
Does that make sense? 😅 Hope it does 😊

"Hindu-ism" is a word coined by the West to denote the religion which thre Hindus (people living in and around the Indus valley civilization), follow.
The correct name for the religion is "Sanatana Dharma"
the word hindu was given by persians when the name was actually sindu that's a specific ethnic group racially.

India name was given by britishers l

Hinduism is all about learning through questions, before Britishers invaded India, our school system was called "Gurukul", in which there used to be a subject called "tarkshashtra" meaning "Sanskrit term for the philosophy of dialectics, logic and reasoning, and art of debate that analyzes the nature and source of knowledge and its validity."
In Bhagwata Gita, there is a long conversation between Arjuna and Lord Krishna in form of question and answers, Arjuna asks the question to Krishna and he answers them.
Also a unique point about Hinduism is that, you may not believe in any God i.e. you may remain atheist but you still be called Hindu or Sanatani.
Hindu's don't convert a person. It's not in our scriptures as when Sanatana Dharma originated there was no mention of religion, Sanatana Dharma is a way of life

Though he explained the caste system well, there are certain clarifications:
1) Earlier, when it originated in the Rig veda, it was based on qualities and not birth, and is referred as Varna System (and not Caste System)
2) Later, when on the basis of Manusmriti, the division became locked on the basis of birth, it was called Caste System.

If a shudra's son is brave, he would be called Kshatriya; if Kshatriya's son is intellectual and has knowledge of Vedas, he would be called a Brahmin.
Very interesting!
Dharma is typical to translate in english but you can say it is a duty of a person needed to be performed
but is it in a positive way - as it I struggle with the word duty which does not have a positive connotation - I'd rather use the purpose. Lot of people in the west are in the search for meaning.

I understood your question but To answer this I have give an eg:
We are born different with different personalities where it's easier for us to connect with someone while it is also difficult to connect with others so
It is your choice to accept divine in any form where every god/goddess or (dev/devi) are manifestation of divine
Some can connect with divine feminine, some can with divine masculine and some need balance in divinity.
Also some connect with nature so that is why such a old civilizational religion is still been practiced
fair enough. I get it - I guess just for me I'd rather go to source but I get people connect with many things.

In the branch of Hinduism , The formless Brahman takes form in order to symbolise and connect with Life. So in Vaishnavism , Vishnu is the highest reality Brahman , in Shaivism it is Shiva or in Shaktism , Shanti the feminine is Brahman , the ultimate one.
Dharma actually means “code of conduct” or “duty”. Today, people use the word for “religion” because the religion is the best manifestation of dharma
7:22 addressing a short coming
Duration of yugas are controversial.
But the accurate one which is on ARYABHATTIYA an astronomical text of Aryabhatta (ancient astronomer 2nd CE). When all the stars of Big deeper constilation(saptarshi mandal) align in Aries sign( mesha rashi) that denotes end of a previous youga and starting of a new yuga . It happens once in approx 2700 years. So 1 yuga - 2700 yrs + 300yrs of transition time total 3000 years . So 1 Mahayuga total 4 yugas 12000 years.
Buddhism, jain and Sikhism are all different schools of hinduism (just like different schools of Christianity such as catholic, orthodox Christians, baptism, revivalism, pentecostal, etc...) which follows law of dharma
In Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says that God is both Formless and can have any form he wants. According to Gurus, God takes form like Krishna, Shiva, Durga, so that it is easy for devotees to meditate upon their preferred form as meditation on the formless is very difficult for most. It is also mentioned in Gita.
The same goes with teachers, police, bankers, lawyers, parents, children, neighbours etc.
There is no four divisions or sects in Hinduism, what he said is wrong, Adi shankara broadly classified 6 ways or foms of sects they are
1.shaivism(worship of lord shiva)
2.Saktham (worship of godess Shathi)
3.Vaishbavam( worship of lord Vishnu)
4.ganapathyam( worship of lord ganesh)
5. Skandham( worship of lord muruga ir subramanya)
6. Smartha( where combination of above is worshipped)
There are other many many sects besides which are village God's and Kul deva God's worship is practiced which varies from place to place in India.
I see!
You'd be even more fascinated to know that Hindu mythology is extremely similar to Greek mythology. Achilles, Trojan war, Zeus etc all have their near identical figures in Hindu mythology.
interesting!
Well there was the misunderstanding regarding symbolism about Caste(First of all there is no caste but Vanra i.e, Class and it is in every society ) But the symols was that 1) Brahman is made from head meaning Intellectual class
2) Kshatriyas from Arms meaning Warrior class
3) Vaishyas from Belly meaning Economic class as they mainly fill the stomach(economy) of the body(society)
4) Lastly Shudras from feet meaning Labour class , entire body(society) moves forward with them as it is they who provide manual work though less appreciated but very imp. part of body (society).
On the caste issue....yes there still are cases here and there but constitutionally its discrimination is banned and then u have sc/st act (which i find a little problematic) which ensures strickest punishments against these discriminations....as a person belonging to Brahmin caste myself i atleast on my behalf can say never have i ever even thought of looking down on a person because he belongs to the other caste....Plus govt of india offers around 60% quotes in all employment and empowerment schemes to the backward castes (I don't like the term backward)
I do not understand a government that prohibits caste discrimination and then speaks of backward castes.

In Hinduism, the Gods and Godesses are said to be the different aspects of the formless Brahman. Since they look more like humans, it becomes easier for common people to comprehend and connect to the Brahman through them. (If that makes sense!)
I hear you. I guess form where I'm sitting for me personally it is not 'required' but I hear why this is.

In Hinduism we dont have Cast System in our Religious book what mention in Video time Frame on 26:18 ... that is call Varna .. nd lower one Shudra means not lowers cast .. actually cast system give us Portugal's weh they invended india
Got it - fair enough!!
As a hindu it doesn't matter how old my religion is , the only things matter is my karma .
See there are 2 things 1) Hinduism and 2)Sanatan Dharma
Hindu was earlier just a geographical identity.
Seeking truth/attaining moksha can be understood using concept of yoga
See if i say Yoga , people in west generally understand as some physical exercise. But there is lot more to it.
First let us understand literal meaning of Yoga. Yoga means union.
Example 1: Suppose there is a meeting of foreign delegates of two countries, so when they sit for meeting together, it means they are physically coming together therefore this also yoga
Example2: Suppose i am student of physics and i studied quantum mechanics. Now i understand quantum mechanics to some extent so this also a yoga. This is because quantum mechanics has become a part of me which is nothing but union.
Yoga are of four types
1.Kriya Yoga(With the path of Kriya you are not only seeking realization you also want to know the mechanics of Life Making)
2.Gnana Yoga(what I know I know what I do not know I do not know)
3. Karma Yoga(if you can joyfully involve yourself in any activity that is Karm Yoga if you do it with great effort only Karma will come no Yoga will happen)
4. Bhakti Yoga ( if you use your emotions and try to reach the ultimate that means the path of devotion)
You can understand this more using this video :- th-cam.com/video/gqKLI7Vn-5U/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Adiyogi
or if you like to read then this:- isha.sadhguru.org/yoga/new-to-yoga/types-of-yoga/
So when invaders came with their religion , they couldn't figure out what we guys are and what religion we follow.

You should read Swami Vivekananda's books bhakthi yoga, gnana yoga, raja yoga...
Every other religion, has a date when it started, like for example Christianity started after Jesus Christ, Islam was created by Mohammad, but the thing about Hinduism or Sanatan Dharma is that it does not have a starting date or a founder.. It has been for ages, passed on orally or through scriptures..

For what you are proud?
Sanatana has evolved over a long period of time and still continues to do so, I am so grateful for it to be my cultural heritage!
I m not to religious but the amount of knowledge in hinduism has is limitless
From black magic to moksha to aghori to ayurveda to yoga
All these things look scary but u will find sadhus in himalayas who are bare foot without clothes meditating in places where normal person cant even stand even after wearing multiple layers because they have achieved moksha and are disconnected from the world
Rigidity in caste system (by birth) became a direct result of corruption, nepotism.....
Its more than 3000 years old. We have written religious script the Rig Veda, proven to be written in 1500 bc
In Hinduism we believe in multiple forms of God, so we respect Jesus as a form of God... That's y Hindus can live with ny other communities peacefully around the world nd also respect other cultures (for example- recently muslim refugees burn a old church in France just like they broke many temples and schools in ancient India)...
abe pagal hai kya?? hinduism is the oldest religion then how can we collect things from other religion. stop spreading false narrative😡
Interesting - thank you for sharing.

I think this answers the question you asked at 19:49 :
"The universe makes sense to me through Hindu eyes. There is Brahman,
the world soul, the sustaining frame upon which is woven, warp and weft, the cloth of
being, with all its decorative elements of space and time. There is Brahman nirguna,
without qualities, which lies beyond understanding, beyond description, beyond approach;
with our poor words we sew a suit for it-One, Truth, Unity, Absolute, Ultimate Reality,
Ground of Being-and try to make it fit, but Brahman nirguna always bursts the seams.
We are left speechless. But there is also Brahman saguna, with qualities, where the suit
fits. Now we call it Shiva, Krishna, Shakti, Ganesha; we can approach it with some
understanding; we can discern certain attributes-loving, merciful, frightening;-and we
feel the gentle pull of relationship. Brahman saguna is Brahman made manifest to our
limited senses, Brahman expressed not only in gods but in humans, animals, trees, in a
handful of earth, for everything has a trace of the divine in it. "
