      Watch Mads Tech (Ian) latest two videos if you think Walksnail is a good way to go!
      You can't even get parts for the original Walksnail goggles to fix them... And he says they're only 2 years old and no parts! Geez!
      The new X Walksnail goggles overheat. Overheating is one of the worst problems you can have with electronics because it can easily take down your entire goggles! Burn out circuit boards, melt parts, etc, etc. Not a good thing to have an issue with!
      Plus, they're VTX's have a reputation for failing or burning out quite often!
      Good luck if you go with them... I sure won't! Sounds like a Dead End! 😥🤬

    • @_tcmore
      @_tcmore 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The goggles are kind of bad too lol. Not for everyone but for a percentage that is much higher than it should be these goggles are nothing but problems. I've sent a set back because they died. They sent me new ones that ended up going into an unrecoverable boot loop. They sent me a new motherboard. Got them working again. Now either the button board stopped working or the connector deep inside the goggles for the board has become disconnected. Mind these goggles go from my head to the case every single time. I simply cannot trust the goggles and even comparing to my DJI vistas I will take those over WS all day.
      That is unless you are putting it on a tiny whoop.
      If DJI released a single board VTX it would most likely be the end of WS unless there's really that many DJI haters.

      Probably the Flylens. Flywoo have a proven track record of building decent quads, good availability of spare frame parts, and more experience tuning. The GoFilm is cool, but it's a first attempt and, based on the propwash handling exibited in this video, a pretty mediocre one... Good on them for trying something new though. Great video once again, there are a few things thats you can improve. First of all this drone has linear antenna's instead of lhcp. This drops the range by about -3db. And on top of that the stock walksnail antenna's on the goggles are also not the best. You should put patch antenna's on the top and onmi on the bottom of the goggles. Doing these things you should be able to double the range you get. But like i said, great video once again. Keep up the good work.

    I think the poor range is due to the antennas on the quad.
    1. The quad antennas are linearly polarized while the Goggles X have circular polarized antennas. This results in 3dB loss!
    2. Circular polarization is way better in this area. It can deal better with multipathing
    3. The efficiency of those whip antennas is probably poor
    4. The quad antenna placement is wrong. It is covered by the battery and frame

      Hdzero has a totally different purpose. The Moonlight system was designed to get useable footage without the need for a second camera. It prioritizes image quality over latency. Hdzero doesn’t even attempt to do that. Hdzero is designed to prioritize low latency over all else. It doesn’t have an onboard DVR, and the goggles footage is totally unusable besides just documenting a flight.
      Hdzero is great for racing, or drones that will always carry a GoPro. It is not an option for small cinewhoops that are attempting to capture usable footage without a second camera.

    • @LochnessFPV
      @LochnessFPV 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally agree, but rather than believing that Caddx footage is usable (it’s really NOT), better having an HDZero for a good controlled flight, and a go pro for professional footage. In the end of the day not even the o3 is that great for commercial use. Only o4 can be considered, but at what price and flight characteristics!

    • @calebthomasralph
      @calebthomasralph 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LochnessFPV I think the Moonlight (and O3) are totally usable for commercial applications like real estate flythroughs, virtual tours, event fly arounds, etc.. It seems like thats exactly what this type of whoop is designed for. Are you going to get cinema quality footage? No, not even close. Are you going to get "usable" footage for quite a few applications, I think so. I fly a 5" with a full stack, HDZero, and a GoPro and a 5" with a 55A AIO and a WS VTX. Lately, I enjoy flying the (much lighter) WS quad a lot more. The flight footage is also very nice for my application (non-professional). I also run WS on my Holodonata and AOS 3.5 EVO. Running a gopro on those wouldn't be practical at all.

    No way I'd buy Walksnail! 🤬 Ian (Mads Tech) found out you can't even buy parts for the original Fatshark (Walksnail) goggles and he said they've only been out 2 years, and they're done.
    The newer X goggles have overheating problems. From being in the electronics industry for over 35 years, I have seen overheating issues and it's about the WORST PROBLEM you can have because overheating can easily take down the entire goggles for good! Burn up a circuit board or smoke the entire insides. Since the parts are already not available for the original goggles I wouldn't expect great access to parts for the new X goggles either! It's kinda ridiculous!!
    Nick Burns X goggles have already failed on him.
    People give crap to DJI for everything under the sun but as Ian said, you could send in your 2019 DJI V1 goggles to DJI for repair and they'll send them back to you working perfectly. Service is one of the many things DJI is known for. Too many haters, IMO, as without DJI we very likely might not even have digital FPV right now.
    And, DJI's VTX's are near bulletproof with almost no one ever having a failure. Walksnail and especially HDZero are known to have failures and burnouts of VTX's galore! One reviewer quit flying HDZero completely because he was sick of paying to replace all of the many, many VTX's that had failed for him.
    Glad I didn't buy either of those often faulty systems!

      While I agree with the WS sentiment, in my experience I’ve had 0 issues with HDZero. I have 03 and HDzero and basically don’t fly my 03 quads anymore. I do agree with DJI being bullet proof and “just works” but all I can say with HDzero is don’t knock it till you try it. DJI will crush in terms of range and penetration, but for pilot experience HDzero wins for me. Until DJI comes up with a 1s board (which will be never) or a lighter VTX so you could actually have fun with a 2” DJI drone or smaller, the other systems will have a place. Since it’s too much of a hassle to bring 2 sets of goggles I only fly HDZ, That way I can have everything from 65mm up to 5” when I go out for a day of flying. That being said I do think they both have their uses, I’m certainly not a DJI hater, I have tons of DJI gear in general.

      @@mwhizzler476I re-entered the FPV hobby after a 4 year break and went straight for HDzero. I fly micro quads exclusively and the small form factor and relatively low price point of those HDZ systems are a win for me.
      There's nothing better than flying a HDZero Whoop around the garden.
