It was I had one back in the early 90s and I was playing this game I could not put it down! When my mom saw me play it so much she took it away from me.
This was one of the main games that I played non-stop as a kid. The gameplay and “feel” of everything in this game is incredible: getting coins, breaking blocks, squashing enemies and “air-shotting” them with fireballs - everything feels amazing. That can’t be felt through the video, but it is one of the best parts of playing this game. This is such a high quality game.
One of the very first handheld games that only had a few levels, but Daisy made her debut here, who would go on to achieve superstardom by appearing in a bulk of sports and go-kart racing games.
I really appreciate the way this game was played, time was taken to hit blocks and really explore the levels rather than speed running through it. It was wonderfully nostalgic to watch this game again.
this was the first videogame I ever owned! I always thought something would happen if I beat this game 3 times in a row, but I always game-overed in my 3rd playthrough.
This was the first game that I beat fully. I had played games before getting a gameboy but never beat them or even came close. When i beat this, i Knewww that I could beat video games and it was on at that point. I didnt have a GB game that I didnt beat. Even the crappy titles like Home Alone.
Like many Mario games, time was definitely not on my side when I played this one. Sometimes, I was forced to die (either by an enemy attack or by falling into a ravine) in some levels just so the timer didn't run out before I could reach the goal at the end. But, the timer in this game wasn't as bad as the timer in the NES game, Super Mario Bros. (1985) That timer counted down way too fast. As far as Game Boy games are concerned, I loved Super Mario Land and Tetris more than any other game.
my first game ever - in 1993. After some trial and error I played it two times in one go. I believe you could yield more points in the second run. I love it. it's so simple.
tell me I'm not the only one who noticed that Tatanga's fireball-launch patterns resemble those of Aquamentus from TLoZ. (Granted, Tatanga moved erratically while Aquamentus moved forward and backward at a slow pace.)
Hey, xRavenXP, I'm looking forward to re-recording your longplays of Super Mario Bros 1-3, and the original video of Super Mario World for SNES if you don't mind, please, xRavenXP? 🤩🤩🤩
The things I had against this game were: 1. No memory, so you couldn’t challenge yourself to beat your score. 2. No added bonuses like how fast could you complete a level. 3. Twelve levels is enough but once you knew all the secrets of every level, gameplay became robotic.
Could never beat this damned game on an original brick Game Boy, tried as I might with my friend's copy of the game, and his Game Boy, I just couldn't do it as it was hard to see. Once I started playing it on the Super Game Boy, then I was able to complete the game twice to unlock the stage select option (till you turned off the Game Boy that is, or the SGB).
Wait, i dont know this game had like "new game plus", is there any difference after you finish and keep playing from there without reset the game/device?
I decided to make another Super Mario Land video. This one has two playthroughs, one on normal and one on hard and in both I show the secret passages. Also, I tried to get as many coins as I could.
The game is pretty fun overall, but it's clunky controls leave a lot to wish for. And the level design and bosses felt way too basic, while also worth playing for the most part. At least the soundtrack is pretty great, i'd dare to say it's one of my favorite soundtracks in the Mario franchise.
You cannot beat this theme music. Ever. Even after all these years it's catchiness never fades. ❤
The soundtrack for this game is high key awesome.
This is the playthrough I've been looking for, with hard mode after first completion, excellent
I love this game. This and Tetris were my first two favourite games in the game Boy.👌
My favourite mario game, the amount of memories i have of playing this game during my primary school years is insane
The game that debuted Princess Daisy. For an original Game Boy game from 1989, that must be a fun handheld experience back then.
It was I had one back in the early 90s and I was playing this game I could not put it down! When my mom saw me play it so much she took it away from me.
One of the best Mario’s ever simple and not to much a perfect game

Loved the unique enemies, powerups, and environments of the mario land games. First seeing it as a kid was just.. 😮 Mario on the go? Yes and Yes

Duuude. This game and Solar Striker are still my favorite Game Boy games!!!
I always thought it was HORRIFYING how the Princess would turn into one of the fearsome looking enemies and would just....hop away... 😨

Nice game and video, xRavenXP. 🤩🤩🤩
This is the only video for Super Mario games to be played twice.
I cant believe there is no checkpoints or saving progress and requires muscle memory

Amazing player!!
Thanks!
Enemies tried everything they could to stop Mario, but in the end it won't matter

Me 2 personally, Milo!😊
I was the first kid in primary school to own one of these in the 80s I was the most popular kid in school 😂 a very powerful memory.
This is a good run-through. The only thing that would make it better is if you broke all of the blocks
Classic game
This was my first and best game boy game of all time!
I remember when my dad bought this for me at k-mart

Love that game
I know the music for 1-1 is iconic, but 2-1 and 2-3 are way better in my personal opinion
