Second verse is the best written verse this year in my opinion, the rhyme pattern is insane and the content never suffers, Lupe really is a painter with words.
It's insane how much Lupe packed on that second verse. I, too, think that this verse is the best verse this year.
The crazy thing is...Lupe is also a painter! He has designed all of his album covers since Tetsuo & Youth.
I don't consider Lupe a rapper. I mean he raps, but songs like these are more like audio books than music. Bravo

@@asadasss263 Well the second line basically says that gender and sex aren't the same thing, a sentiment that generally implies support of trans people.

And being based is slang generally used to mean that you agree with something, specifically something that has to do with progressive values.
Saying that genitals and gender roles don't neccesarily conflate implies support of trans people, which I agree with and think is good, therefore based.

Garnish, carnage, kinetic, shamanistic, secularists, conflate, diatribe, opaque, agape, strafe, palette, sanguine, peruse, brushstrokes, articulated, shredding, languish, defanged, origami…. That’s more unique words than in ppls whole albums 🤣

@@martianlynch6769 he uses a lot of unique words so to speak, like you say, but it's more like how many different words can you fit in a song, so I could beat lupe by just using a shit ton of different smaller more common words, like what, hey, doing, jump, laugh, and so on and so on, and beat his count. That's how it works I think

Tbh he is not forced at all.... He doesn't use big ass words where you don't need them... Each and every punchline and metaphor makes sense....someone like canibus is called forced lyricist... Lupe is purely effortless

@@lyrics2challenged they're entirely different. Lupe rides with the metaphors and similes throughout entire verses while incorporating a lot of entendres, allusions and allegories. On top of that, Lu uses far more wordplays than Bis. Can't say that Bis can do what Lu does. They're both excellent at storytelling and concepts, but that's it.
Ok, one of my favorite songs period off of one of my top 10 hip hop albums of all time...but dude, your rhyming notations make no sense sometimes. How does "ga" in origami have any relation to the word "down" in the next line? There isn't any form of similarity in pronunciation or spelling that would suggest it rhymes in the song. This isn't touching the surface either, there are a lot of places where it feels like the crew decided to place colors in random places, like how do "at", "envy", and "canvas" relate to each other in the line or others previous to it rhythmically?

How so? Words That I Never Said came 1 year prior to Reagan, and Reagan despite being an amazing song, it looks like it's a ripoff of Words That I Never Said. You're trippin, this song is about rap as an art form and bout art in general. Heck, you could say Reagan is a ripoff of Conflicted Diamonds which came in 2005, but it ain't true. None of these rappers intended to do that, they have similar themes sometimes, but they never did this thing (rippin off). This song and Reagan have nothing in common, simple as that, even a 6th grader would be able to tell the differences.
Lupe doesn't have to steal from Killer Mike. 😂
