This verse is jealously inducing. It's not just that he has a great flow and rhyme scheme, but he tells a moving story with an interesting moral question while also switching things up to keep the listener's attention. He keeps the rhyme scheme comparably simple at the beginning of his verse to allow the story time to breathe, then he makes his rhyme scheme more complicated as the story and issues get more complicated. It also seems just easy and natural. Amazing attention to detail.
I read all of that like a rhyme for some reason lol.

i like to think thought auto capitalised because you mention Black Thought alot :)
Greatest feature verse of the last decade. BAR NONE !!!!
What about Solo reprise on Blonde ?
Either this or Black Thought's verse on Momentum.
I'd beg to differ on that one, KXNG Crooked's verse on Stockholm Syndrom/Chopping Block,Royce da 5'9 on Father Figure ,Black Thought on Crown For Kings or Method Man's verse on Lemon Squeeze
Id say rick ross on a devil in a new dress is up there, along with kendrick on control, holy key and look over your shoulder, ems verse in best friend and medicine man, chance the rapper in ultralight beam, Andre 3k on solo(reprise), earl sweatshirt on super rich kids, black thought on literally anything, kxng crooked in Stockholm syndrome, J Cole in sacrifices( i call it a feature feel free to disagree with me in that one) could compete with this one

"Selling's a sin, well so is telling young men that selling is a sin without offering new ways to win" I am amazed at how Andre can create such a poetic line, and describe a major societal issue from a unique perspective.
Who are you to tell a young man selling drugs that this is wrong? What if this is the only way you can make a living in your circumstances? So much packed into a line.

His cadence, lyrical poise and thoughtfulness is superlative, the vernacular perspective is genius. He overstands not understands.
A lyrical genius and he’s actually saying something not just making words rhyme ! 🔥
One of the things I always appreciated about Andre 3k is that he will drop a line where ever he wants like, "y'all can't measure my worth," that keeps the rhyme going but is a different pattern than the rest of the verse. It's like he is saying "I got something to say right now and you need to hear it." Legend. My favorite.
There's nothing Ross could've done. This is the verse I always remember. Even thinking about it now, I fail to recall Ross's verse. Damn, Andre!

Andre has the greatest batting average in rap. Everything he’s touched is gold and he always gives it his all.
