  • This video contains two recent matches I had with the LV1 GM Sniper III (Mid Range Support Unit) on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 400 cost support with gigantic damage scoped sniper shots, a high power cannon that fires 3 shots at once and boosting speed almost on par with generals. Its primary weakness is a serious lack of durability but it also has long downtime between stuns if you always charge and scope in or always fire all 3 cannon shots. This is suit used to be pretty mediocre but in the most recent round of buffs it got a massive glow-up via increasing sniper power and reducing reload time on both the sniper rifle and cannon pack. I am not the best with suits like this but I still feel like I was able to show off how effective the suit can be, regardless of if the map is close or long range. I hope that you enjoy watching!
Its primary weapon is a beam sniper rifle with 1300 (2600) power, 3 ammo, 5 seconds cooldown, 13 seconds reload, 1.3 seconds swap time, 600m (700m) range, 4 seconds focus time and 10% (80%) stagger value. Uncharged shots have poor power but short cooldown time for a move and shoot beam rifle. Charged shots consume two ammo but the power is doubled. When scoped in for the +30 range mod bonus from Precision Sniping this can hit generals for around 5000-6000 damage with charged shots. The stagger value also lets you shoot down a TB Flight Pack Gouf with one charged shot. You can charge and fire while on the move, so don't always feel forced to snipe with this.
Its primary melee weapon is a beam saber with 2200 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap time and standard modifiers. The suit lacks balancers but the great power of this weapon lets you do serious damage to generals or other supports in the rare situations you can get to swing it.
Its first sub weapon is a bullpup machine gun with 140 power, 30 ammo, 360 RPM, 10 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap time, 250m range, 840 DPS and 4% stagger value. This is nearly impossible to stagger with but the DPS and range makes it an effective follow-up option to stuns on the move to get out more damage.
Its second sub weapon is a cannon pack with 750x3 power, 3 ammo, 4.5 seconds cooldown, 10 seconds reload, 2 seconds swap time, 550m range and 35%x3 stagger value. This has amazing splash and when scoped in can deal about 1300-1600 damage per hit to generals. The long swap time means this is by no means a guaranteed combo, but if you can manage to hit a scoped sniper shot and then land a scoped cannon burst then you can deal around 10,000 actual damage to some generals. This is pretty insane for a 400 cost support considering how low HP pools are here. This combo can also break the legs of a general in one go if your aim is good, assuming they aren't using the Leg Armor custom part.
The LV1 GM Sniper III has 11000 HP, 13 ballistic resist, 21 beam resist and 8 melee resist. This is extremely squishy all things considered, even generals could finish you pretty quickly in melee if you aren't careful. You have a 4000 HP shield but this doesn't help too much. So this means you have to be extra careful with positioning while using this suit.
It also has 115 walk speed, 175 boosting speed, 55 thrust and 60 turning speed. This boosting speed is 5-10 less than the average 400 cost general which usually packs about 180-185, so you can keep up really easily or reposition as needed. The walking speed is average for a support but once the shield breaks, this rises to 132. So if this happens your mobility practically becomes the same as a general.
Its key skill is LV1 Precision Snipe. This takes effect while scoped in and adds +30% ranged damage at the cost of increasing cooldown time by +25%. It also can inflict heavy stagger if the enemies legs or head is broken or becomes broken by a scoped in stun. This lowers your stun output but the burst damage potential it offers is pretty immense, basically adding on another layer of type advantage.
Overall I think that the Sniper III is a powerful option for 400 cost support since the buff at the end of February. It has some of the highest burst damage at the cost and isn't restricted to sniping from far away like Gunner Gundam or Guncannon II are, it is instead versatile with the option to fire shots while moving or selectively choosing to snipe. I don't think it is a good fit for every player due to the obvious fragility issues, but if you are a fan of suits like Guncannon II then I feel like you could adapt really well to this suit. If you just like playing strong supports then it would be great for you as well. Thanks for watching, and I hope that you enjoyed it!
