not sure what model you have - 20, 30, 35, etc - but I have a 30 and there are three drain plugs under the tractor for the gearbox, transmission, and pto, all connected and open to each other. I am in the process of flushing mine out with diesel fuel cause it needs it and no idea what previous owner put in, and curious why you didnt flush yours out
G'day mate, its a TED20. I didn't change the gearbox oil through ignorance really. but i have to say my brother rebuilt the engine for me soon after this and changed the gear box oil at the same time and the 3pl hasn't worked properly since. I'm guessing the worn pistons didn't like the nice new (thinner) oil. hope yours goes well.
So are you saying the cheap supermarket oil is no good? My oil is like your and hydraulics very poor so hoping replacing oil will make it work better and even stay up when I put the clutch in. Am I on the right train?? @@glenbbqdavidson7131
G'day Chris, yes your right I think. its sat out side all its life and the moisture running down the gear stick has built up in to the mess you saw in the video. have fun changing yours
Just bought the same tractor trying to figure out what year mine is I'm guessing a 1955. What year is yours

Hey mate what oil do you put in hydraulic oil or gear oil or I've herd 20-50 engine oil
G'day Mate, yep, I just used cheap supermarket engine oil. Still going like a train
Presumably the jucky brown oil is caused by water ingress. Mine has gone just like that and time to be replaced.

Hi what oil did you use cheers
G'day Caleb. The cheapest nasties homebrand stuff the supermarket had. I've been told it really doesn't matter with an engine of that age.
Looks like Peanut Butter
Yeah, had the consistency somewhere between peanut butter and used peanut oil. 👍
Or Go for a walk with your dogs 🐕 😁
Sound like a better idea 👍
Noice!
