Wow, guys, Bad Company last night and now Free, both with that fantastic singer, Paul Rodgers. Paul has such a great voice, he started with this band and went onto the band Bad Company. This is an absolute classic rock song from 1970 and is one of my favourite songs, gosh, can't tell you how many times I listened to this, blasting out of my record player!! A couple of other favourite songs from Free are Wishing Well and Seven Angels. You're really spoiling us, guys, thanks so much and thanks so much for your reaction. It's always good to hear your opinion on songs, although I have to say I love this song the way it is! Take care now.

Paul Kossoff (Free guitarist) his unhappiness following the break up of Free and his drug addictions contributed to a drastic decline in his health. Kossoff died on a flight from Los Angeles to New York on 19 March 1976 age 25 from a pulmonary embolism after a blood clot in his leg moved to his lung, while touring America with Back Street Crawler. His body was returned to England and cremated at Golders Green Crematorium in North West London. His epitaph in the Summerhouse there reads: "All right now"

Interesting that you didn't find the song had enough oomph. The story behind this song according to Simon Kirke is that after a bad gig at Durham Students Union they went back to their dressing room on a downer and they realised that they needed something strong to finish their set. Andy Frasor then started jumping around singing Alright Now and eventually sat down with Paul Rogers and wrote this song in 10 minutes. Andy Frasor more or less confirmed the story. I think Bad Company is more your style then as they are the rock version of Free who are blues rock and don't generally make you head bang. Free you can layback and chill to and had the vibe of many blues rock bands around that time like Fleetwood Mac and Chicken Shack and are more my style. I saw them live several times, the most memorable one being at The Royal Albert Hall which must have been 1971 as i was with my wife to be, it was rather raucous and the concert was eventually shut down by staff switching off the power, they were into about their fifth encore. I'm sure it was one of the RAH shows that contributed to rock concerts being banned from there in 1972

This was a gem from the 1970s that I remember fondly, having been a grade-school child of that time. The generation right before mine fully enjoyed this kind of FREE-spirited rock fresh out of the oven... jamming to the hard-hitting yet earthy new sounds at clandestine basement parties (sans parents) where clouds of "special smoke" no doubt filled the air... and the real excitement was out in the driveway amid brags of whose little Camaro could blow the doors off whose slick-ass GTO. 😆 Certainly I overheard songs like this back then over my babysitter's radio. But it wasn't until I came more of age in the late 1980's / early 1990's that I actually listened to the genius of it. Keep in mind that this is rock and roll at its most raw. It was meant only to make you feel good. Listen to it while roaring down an open highway, and it's all you can do not to stomp the gas around hairpin curves!!! This song, along with Nazareth's "Hair Of The Dog" and The Hollies' "Long Cool Woman" (among many others), is the ultimate soundtrack to a hefty speeding ticket. 🤣 There is no need to critique the feel of high octane in your veins.

Music we had through the mid-late 60s & the 70s is unlike any other. Bands we listened to through the 60s split up & they went their own way and created their own bands through the 70s was just a real treat to be able to continue listening to the talent that is totally lacking these days. I’m 61 years old now and I’m still stuck on this music. There’s nothing quite like it.

For example, check out him and Jeff Beck covering George Benson's "On Broadway." I had one of his solo albums. On the back it said, "All songs written by Paul Rodgers. All songs sung by Paul Rodgers. All instruments played by Paul Rodgers."
Making it truly a "solo album."

I know you guys don’t believe me.
I’m kind of laughing a little inside myself. You know when you know something for a fact, but the person you are talking to has never experienced it or even believes you. That’s us. Me and 2 Rock guys halfway around the world. My world is TEXAS and I’m going to keep telling you. I’m not wrong on this.
This old FREE song was another radio classic back in the day. When I saw Patrick say “show me something” I knew he was getting jaded. There is nothing wrong with that at all. Every serious Rock fan is super jaded for good reason. That is because there is some really fantastic music out there and you want to be blown away every time.
That’s part of the deal with reaction channels. You get a lot of high power, music in a very short time span. What took us years is taking you hours. Now, I’m going to tell you once again. You WILL love this song!
It will straight up kick your ass! JUDAS PREIST: Riding On The Wind!!!! (studio version only please).
Go Loud and trust the Old School who has been there, done that!
Pick any band. I don’t always like to have to explain myself so much and why my picks are solid, so here’s a small taste of my concert experience just to show you I know What The Fuck I’m talking about. Live in concert: JUDAS PREIST 18 times, PINK FLOYD 3 times, STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN once, QUEENSRYCHE 21 times, AC⚡️DC 6 times, Z Z TOP 6 times, METALLICA 6 times, RUSH 18 times, PANTERA 6 times, IRON MAIDEN 18 times, SCORPIONS 6 times, ALICE IN CHAINS 6 times, MEGADETH 7 times. It goes on and on. I’m not even close to halfway through. Play that fucking song and ROCK Your Ass OFF! I’m not kidding and I fucking guarantee it brothers!
Don’t make me come over there.
Keep going? YES 6 times, BLACK SABBATH 5 times, OZZY 7 times,
    DEEP PURPLE 7 times……
It keeps going and going. It’s exhausting just remembering it. I did this shit for DECADES when all this music was first coming out. I saw a lot of these bands first tours and just kept going every time they came back. Everyone toured my city from the beginning. That’s how I saw so much. TOOL 5 times, MOTLEY CRUE 6 times. I’ll stop now. Play the fucking song.
There’s at least 30 more bands easy.
Probably closer to 40. I’m surprised I still have a working liver and ear drums. When you see AC⚡️DC on the For Those About To Rock tour from the tenth row and they set off CANNONS! You feel like somebody is hitting you right on the sternum with a hammer. It was probably the loudest sound I’ve EVER heard. After several shots, blowing smoke rings across the stage, it started to feel dangerous. Like are my ears going to work tomorrow dangerous. One of the very best concerts I’ve ever seen and I saw Back in Black tour! My Rock music opinion is beyond valid.
It’s just stuff you’ve never heard. Isn’t that the point of the channel?
Half the people you are going by,(likes and views) are too young to know that these strong AF songs even exist! I don’t do weak music ever. Believe That!

An absolute classic! Their biggest hit but not their best song, by far, imho. It's a great song and was a HUGE international hit! 3 of them were still teenagers when they made it big and the other was only 20 or 21. They were supremely talented musicians. The guitarist, singer and bassist are all amongst the GOATs and the drummer was pretty amazing too and incredibly underrated, in my opinion. You should definitely listen to more Free! Just bear in mind that this isn't heavy metal and production techniques were limited back then. Their style is raw blues rock. It was about raw emotion... of all kinds. You should try and find some live performances. They REALLY came into their own live! "Mr Big" from the Isle of Wight Festival would be a good place to start. :)

My first concert was FREE. I went on later to see Bad Co on two occasions, the first being the Burning Skies tour.
Give a listen to Wishing Well.

This is the band Free, not Bad Company. The singer, Paul Rodgers started with this band and then moved on to the band Bad Company. All Right Now is a classic song from Free, however I have to say, having a Bad Company reaction on Thursday and a Free reaction on Friday, I think we're being spoilt! All the best.

You want to hear a fantastic love ballad? Incredible vocals, masterful piano and instrumentals. A masterpiece. It’s called, A Song For You, by Donny Hathaway. It would be a real treat for you and for us if you did a reaction. Gracias.

I love this song but you do have a point George with your critical analysis, personally I think Wishing Well is a better song from Free.

Please Please Please react to Love- Forever Changes. Greatest album of all time for me. Puts anything from 67’ to shame! Pure bliss and an influence on multiple generations.

This is one song where I actually prefer the radio edit.
The edited version cuts out the noodling part of the guitar solo and then, after the main solo, it goes straight back into the chorus rather than having the riff come in and build up to the chorus.
Somehow these small changes make it a much harder hitting track which retains its essence as a great rock groove.
In the longer version they sound like they’re were right on the edge of being out of their depth and were struggling to come up with ideas to keep it sounding fresh.
In the edit, you can completely forget how young they were and just be in awe of how great they sound but in this version their vulnerability and lack of experience come through.

I would give this song a good 9.5/10 personally, but this song is quite nostalgic for me. If you want to try some more, then give Wishing Well a go. I give it 9/10 myself, but you may like it better.

I had the feeling that Patrick wasn't digging this song so much. George, it seemed like you were enjoying it and I'm a bit disappointed that you both didn't dig it like we all did in the '70s on through to today. You are entitled to your opinion, even if it's wrong! LOL! I'm kidding! Of course, this is a reaction channel and that's what you're doing and I have nothing but respect for both of you!

The band ended up having to change their name...people would see "FREE" on the album and mistake the band's name for a free album! 🤭

I agree with the brothers, it was an ok song, but nothing to write home about. (Tell your friends about.) I never even found out the name of the band that played it. I spent my sparse record money on different bands. It was in a lot of Vietnam war movies, along with that song by Creedence.

Hello brothers , you have really been on streak lately . Love the music you've been picking lately . I would like to ask for Triumph "Hold on", It's a real rocker with mega vocals and strong guitar solo. I know you will love it . Matter of fact, I will pledge $100 to your account if you don't like it . This song is my ultimate favorite for cranking !
