Goooood Morning! Let's wake up together
Wow, this video is so relaxing, and your honesty is refreshing... Like, you are not afraid to tell that you missed a focus, you tell some tips and etc. I was happy along with you when you got a nice shot because I realize the limitation of 36 frames!
I enjoy these sort of self restrictions.... But I do believe you can change film roll even if you shoot film 😂
Hi Pierre, i always enjoy your street photography videos whether it's in Japan or America they are all great. The best remedy for jet lag is taking photos, after the first couple of photos you forget about the jet lag. In Australia we have recycling as well and you get 10c for each bottle, cans, plastic water bottles etc. I actually liked the motorcycle shot, because it was close and you could see the nice colour from his Helmet and the Motorcycle. I totally agree that photography is very therapeutic for the body and the mind, it keeps you fit and you meet interesting people on the way that sometimes want to chat with you. Thanks Pierre. 😃
Keep killing it mate! Love it!!
I 100% agree with you. I just started with photography and i've noticed that i notice so much more beauty in the small things. It's really special and I'm so glad i've taken up this hobby.
I love this kind of video! I live around there, but I could find many new things from you. Thanks mate!
I had purchased your master II presets, I purchased the new master III preset pack. Wonderful thank you! I find a couple of presets that are perfect for my style.
Thank you so much, you are a guarantee and my mentor!
Really interesting view on the psychology/philosophy of photography. Totally agree with you there! Merci beaucoup
mon pote!
Wouldn't consider the last shot a cheat since on 35, you can squeeze 1 or 2 extra Shots depending how you wound your film at the start and if you took a shot right before the counter goes (1). Love the video and the shots man!
Awesome to see your pov again :)) really missed it.
Excellent concept ! ça donne envie de se pencher sur cette idée de contrainte photographique hyper stimulante. Surtout sur ce format de vidéo youtube !!
the stuff you start talking about @ 20:20 is so true for me aswell! I totally vibe with you on that thought
Yeah ! it's kind of meditative in a way too ! Love to see it that way
Love your work ❤
me too
Feeling good Pierre in watching this great POV you made 📸😃, great idea to wake up 😁I need to try this 😊📸
Congratulations on the video, also the photos, some of them are really nice!
I was thinking that at the end of this type of street photography video, it would be interesting if you would make a collection of the photos that you think are best and for what reason. So that you would make it clear why you would choose one photo over another. Because for example, personally, I liked just 4-5 photos out of all the ones you did.
But I would like to know for what reason you would choose other photos.
That lens looks soooooo beautiful
It's hard to think of a better video to watch while having a bath and enjoying a frozen slushy cocktail than a guy going around Japan in the early morning.
Love your works man. I felt that you could really use the Techart autofocus adapter, I used it in combination with my TTArtisan Noctilux and it helped me capture many moments that would otherwise be missed if using manual focus.
Yea. Manual focus is such a bummer.
Watched a lecture recently by Rob Walker who wrote a book (well, a collab book) called The Art of Noticing. I haven't read the book yet (it's on my list), but it is the same concept as you were discussing about the importance of paying attention and not just blowing past things. He especially emphasized the idea of paying attention for specific items but also just paying attention in general. Anyway, I agree that when you look for cool things, it changes your perspective even if you don't always find the cool things.
the best thing for me about street photography is taking portraits of randoms, its just one of the best feelings, making someone you dont even know smile :) makes me so happy and since i started i see the world differently.
In Germany they throw rocks at you if you photograph them without permission
@@DKPhotoArt gut das ich in der schweiz lebe haha, natürlich frage ich die leute zuerst :)
Love that video :)
I'm in Japan in 2 months can't wait to take photos there.
I just own a A6000 with a cheap lense but it should do the job.
Btw the lense you use looks so good in red.
Very inspiring videos thanks man
it's pleasant surprise to see ryogoku-morishita area in this kind of street photo vid
*me picturing ppl taking photos and murmuring to himself*
jk , watching ur videos actually helps me a lot, including things i should consider about and what should i do while facing different subjects.
i really love ur vids!!
The red lens looks great
great video. yes where I live there is always people going through our garbage to recycle our beer cans. now we just leave them out and they come collect.
Nice trtip thanks
Yea, the narrow depth of field of the lens is getting you for some pictures, the crow for example, would be sharp at f4 ! you can focus quicker !
where did you get that cap for your hot shoe... I like it!
what camera are you using in this video? the one listed in the description isnt the same one.
imagine shooting this challenge on the new a9iii with 120fps burst mode😂
I have to ask. I'm looking for a lens that gives the look of the shot at 0:40.. is that the 16-35mm f2.8? or something else?
Have you ever thought about doing this kind of challenge with an instant camera? Polaroid or Instax?
wow 24:23 REALLY looks like steins;gate's (anime) laboratory building. I know "officially" it wasn't that building that inspired the anime one, but damn, it I wouldn't doubt if it was actually this building but in a different location
Heyy lova ya❤️🩹
Maybe this isn’t a good tip for photos where the subject is moving, but if the subject is still and you have a few seconds, try turning off the focus peaking and instead zoom in while focusing. I think focusing peaking is very imprecise and I have much more luck with zooming in.
He has a prime 50mm, so no zooming, and he has no focus peaking active (at least till the 20m mark). He has the shadow and highlight clipping overlay ;)
He’s back out here it would be nice running into you
Thanks!!
You should definitely do this again. Maybe also limit yourself to one style of one preset as well and only use the viewfinder and turn off the preview so you can't see the shots until you get back.
17:37 Best shot of the video
Good video
I love it
where in Tokyo is that?
this could be a great challenge for photographers "36photochallenge"? hope everyone jumps in.
I’m always choosing 36 shots hee
You have wrong link for ttartisan
13:15 - Pierre did you use the brush to bring that exposure down on the road? I'm curious!
I prefer to use a gradient filter for that :)
@@Pierretlambert Thank you so much Pierre! Treat your lens like it's your wife 😅
@@Pierretlambert where did you get your alpha hotshoe cover from?
is it advisable to go auto iso with manual lens?
Why not? you get to take properly exposed photos (Maybe you don´t want that, but that depends on your vision)
Everything in Japan is a photo spot!
Not for long when residents can’t even walk to the 7-11 without being photographed.
These photo tourists paparazzi TikTok kids are driving the old folks crazy.
is candid photo legal in Japan?
wow the color of this lens relay loud😃
All day shots with a f0.95??? OMG
wowie
Spraying the camera is not very advisable 😅😁 my camera died on me because of rain.. got it fixed but wow at a big price!
17:37 jumpscare moment
Agree totally for the motorbike guy, would have asked him for a shot, moves very close and low, vertical, just the helmet and play with the building both sides and negative space of the sky.
i couldn't get past him swinging around a 2000$ Leika lens
I am so sorry , but watching this i quickly came to the conclusion that you must be a master in whatever art this is supposed to be and i am absolutely not the least capable to appreciate the level of your art at all....
1:00 half life 2
film with auto ISO. Nice
Try shooting fast moving objects with a manual lens 😂
It's fun & addictive challenge & it's a skill that saves you if your AF is failing for some reason. Next time shooting beside someone using AF, show him a shot using MF. He won't believe you 😂
The red lens, can somebody tell me what model it is, I can obviously see its a TTartisan, but besides that im lost. I looked everywhere on his channel and his homepage where he even has a picture of that lense, but doesnt list in his god damn gear list 🤣 I ONLY went into seeing that video because of that lense XD
So let me get this clear. Manual focus lens and 36 photos. If you wanted that bad to do film photo, you just could use a film camera.
I wish thay sell pink one for me :
0:14 Ummmm what???
How can u nail focus without focus peeking 😭😭
Where did he nail the focus? the first 10 shots were all out of focus
My Nikon F100 could use multiple film rolls. Just saying.
0:11 its a Sony, that's why its not working.
❤
Why exactly 36 photos?
That's the number of photos you're supposed to get from a typical roll of 35mm film (the type of film 99% of regular people used while film cameras were common, except maybe for polaroid-style instant film). You might get more or less shots depending on your exact camera model and how you wind the film to start with.
@@clonkex Interesting, thanks for the answer and patience
The jumping zoom is distracting
I'm sorry if you can read my comment, but... I love your color, I know that ridiculous if I ask you send me color at this video, anyway thank you and hope you can read this.
DO NOT WATCH, video was so good I ended up spending 1k on a camera and lens !!!
the third shot's suck. xD
Don’t you feel embarrassed.? A non Japanese taking photos of introvert Japanese that
just want to be left alone. Ruining the thing that you think is beautiful in the first place. 🤷🏻♀️
First!
Why do you only have 36 Pictures to take?
u missed the point bruv
@@luluknowslpthats true
Why is everything shot vertically and away from your body. The shooting with the screen instead of the viewfinder drives me crazy.
He posts to IG and photos look better on IG when they are shot vertically because it maximizes screen space. He probably uses the screen because he likes it more and sometimes when you use the viewfinder it doesn’t always come out the same, whereas the screen is an exact replica of the photo.
It's just bad technique to not use the viewfinder unless there's an absolute angle you can't get to. The vertical format leaves so much out of the frame, it's much easier to crop vertically than to take a vertical picture and try to crop horizontally. I realize there are certain dimensions for reels and what not but I think it's more of a narrative about what's wrong with what IG has become. It's basically a home for reels and short video content. You can't even scroll your feed any more and see images unless you really try. IG from a photo perspective is a square format but if you're making reels all the time then your content has a different dimension. I don't have a problem with using vertical shots but when you're simply shooting to match a medium so you can make reels it takes away from good photography. I'm not saying the person who made this video is a bad photographer but looking at everything with the same center focus, the same composition, over and over again gets really stale. Unfortuantely we see too much of it on IG and you see everything in your viewfinder the same you would see it on the screen. @@Stogie7884
Your glitches make me sick
I will just say that if you're in Japan, please respect the photography laws there and avoid taking photos of peoples faces without permission. Otherwise blur them or creatively hide them in the shot.
does this guy not understand that digital cameras arent limited by how much film is in the camera? he can take more than 30 pictures
He’s challenging himself to only shoot 36 photos. It makes each photo have more importance
bit homosexual if you ask me sounds like a lot of bollox, has he autism or something?@@foyboi3193
Photographing random people on the street without their consent is pretty weird. Hopefully you asked them.
That's just what you do, shoot and move on, would you really stop to ask every person that so happens to be a part of your photos?
It's legal and it's what you do in street photography
Does this guy actually do any real photography or is he just selling presets and running around in the streets with his camera all the time?!
I do fashion, beauty, fine art and motorsports... Why is TH-cam constantly recommending me this crap? This guy doesn't even do any actual photography...
How do you define "actual photography"? I hesitate to say this is a moronic comment, but... well it's pretty dumb.
I mean street photography can be very empty some times and not that exciting, but I do agree that most of the time his photography looks just ok and he's definitely trying to sell you his presets, which look like very basic color grading and correction in my opinion. Whenever he's like "omg this will be a beautiful shot" and then it's just an empty street with some light I'm just like "really?". It works for him though
Aren’t this guy is to noisy for japan society, he constanly speaking outloud while running all over the place, be more respecful please
These photos are terrible
No dude, it's not f/0.95. That is stupid. It's 0.95. You don't have a right to invent your own number system there buddy. We all share the same numbers.
