I’m Lizzie, and I recently upgraded from a Canon Rebel to the Sony A7 iv. I can’t even begin to count how many photos I have that are soft or even blurry. Love your videos and bunch of info and tips :) So.... AEL is not the same as auto focus lock, right? Someone please could tell me if micro 4/3 camera also has it? I'm using Panasonic Lumix G80.
I have an A7RV and with eye auto focus engaged I get almost 50% of the photos out of focus. It doesn’t matter if I have eye auto focus set to automatically choose the right or left eye or if I set it to right or left eye only. The focus point is on the eye and then after the photo is taken I review the image and it is sometimes just a little out of focus or sometimes more.
This AEL button on A7IV is in the bad placement, because I hit it all the time and when I had it in native mode, my exposure was sometimes ruined because it was locked. So I reprogramed that button to switch between EVF and Screen.

Just as one would do with a human subject, avoid by simply moving camera position a bit having the building (or something else such as a tree, street light, stop sign etc.) growing out of the subject which in this case was the monkey but people can become monkeys making the photographer appear to be a "monkey" .

Really wish my D3100 had a dedicated AE-lock and AF-ON button, for me, both is the same button and I use it for Back Button AF.
My name is Edward and I’m new to photography, I just got my camera, it’s a canon EOS 1200d. Any tip for me🙏🏾
I have an A7RV and with eye auto focus engaged I get almost 50% of the photos out of focus. It doesn’t matter if I have eye auto focus set to automatically choose the right or left eye or if I set it to right or left eye only. The focus point is on the eye and then after the photo is taken I review the image and it is sometimes just a little out of focus or sometimes more.
ah damn! What camera? There are options sometimes to "tweak" the behaviour of the AF - for ex more front focusing etc
Your lenses auto focus might not be fast enough for the camera.

This AEL button on A7IV is in the bad placement, because I hit it all the time and when I had it in native mode, my exposure was sometimes ruined because it was locked. So I reprogramed that button to switch between EVF and Screen.

couple of items -- both relate to the protection of the body/lens. Use either a neck strap or a wrist strap. Always put a lens shade on the camera lens. Re: composition of the monkey + building with the tower. Just as one would do with a human subject, avoid by simply moving camera position a bit having the building (or something else such as a tree, street light, stop sign etc.) growing out of the subject which in this case was the monkey but people can become monkeys making the photographer appear to be a "monkey"
.

Hi Pierre, very helpful tips, my favourite tip is Auto ISO that is a real life saver. And choosing in the right focus is important. I must admit I review my photos as well, not as much as I used to, hard habit to break. Thanks for those great tips Pierre they were very useful. 😊
love the vid!
