Happy - belated - birthday! 🎂 My all time favourites are the Lord of the rings and the Picture of Dorian Gray. I loved some books since reading those, but I feel like Tolkien and Wilde are quite hard to forget
The Song of Achilles ❤️ by Madeline Miller is one of my favourite books 🥰, along with Mansfield Park by Jane Austen, The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan, Dial A For Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto, the Turner series by Cat Sebastian, and Uprooted by Naomi Novik.
I’m so excited to jump into some of these you mentioned! I love The City of Brass and am just starting on Assassin’s Apprentice and loving it so I’m feeling like I’ll enjoy so many of your other faves!!

I absolutely adore Emily Wilson's translation of The Odyssey! I cannot wait for her translation of The Iliad.
I have to read The Bone Season, especially considering that I love a lot of the books you mention. My favorite book of all time is The Princess Bride, but at this point it might be nostalgia keeping it in that place. There are so many great books. N. K. Jemisin’s The City We Became and Fredrik Backman’s And Every Morning The Way Home Gets Longer And Longer are definitely at the top of my list.

Oh the joy of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, I've just finished studying it for my English Literature degree. I enjoyed it more than I expected and it was more accessible than I thought it would be

It's so hard to pick a favorite book and it changes constantly, but top 3 at the moment are The Goblin Emperor, A Desolation Called Peace, and A Marvellous Light

My favorite lately has definitely been the starless sea, which gets me excited to read the night circus, & a surprising favorite was and every morning the way home gets longer and longer by fredrik Backman, so good🤩

Favorite series sjm (all of them😅), brown sisters, keeper of the lost cities, six of crows. Sorry cant pick only one book 😂

Always adding to my TBR... I can't believe I have yet to read The Night Circus and The Bone Season! It is so so hard to narrow down but especially after the second one the Crescent City series has become a fav for me. I also reread The Odyssey last year and forgot how incredible it is. 🎂🎂

‘Circe’ is one of my all time favourite books too and I truly cannot recommend ‘A Witch’s Heart’ by Genevieve Gornichec enough for lovers of ‘Circe’. It’s a retelling that focuses on Angrboda, who is known as “the mother of monsters” in Norse mythology.
I keep eyeing up A Witch’s Heart! It always catches my attention in bookstores, maybe this is a sign 👀

I too love The Night Circus and Circe. Neither one of the favourites but they are both just lovely reads. If We Were Villains is a favourite for me. I adore how it is written, and the story develops over time. I do wish I had a faerie read in my favourites, but I don't like dark romance in my books and a lot faerie books I find falls underneath that, or is a SJM book and I truly don't think I would be into her books. There are some that I have loved but none of them have hit that level of love for me, for example The Modern Faerie Tales and The Darkest Part of the Forest. Also An Enchantment of Ravens and so on. I do technically have a favourite that a faerie read, but it is a childhood favourite and that is the spiderwick chronicles. Not gonna lie, it slipped my mind there for a moment.

🎂 What an amazing selection of books 😍. I have the Bone Season on my Tbr which I hope to get to this year. My favourite books to name a few Anne Frank Diary of a Young Girl, To Kill a Mockingbird, Great Expectations, The Apt Pupil(novella by Stephen King)

See I find it really interesting with Robin Hobb and I started with the Assassins apprentice and wasn't sure I completely liked it- would it be worth trying again? Because everything you said about characters is exactly what I look for in a series. I did read assassins apprentice while I was in a reading slump so maybe I didn't click because of that? Also it's not the genre- I adore fantasy.. Any help?
When I first read assassins apprentice I only rated it 3 stars and wasn’t there impressed, whereas on reread w few years later I loved it! Don’t know if that helps at all 😂
