It does make sense. Like for me, i’m not sure if I like The Selection series and even America Singer or not. Most of the time I don’t like it, but I enjoyed reading it cause it’s just really entertaining.
I felt the same. I don’t like the plot, characters, the writing, but it was really entertaining. It’s kinda how I feel about the selection series.

I'm a guy and I read The Twilight Saga last year in 6th grade. Right now I'm reading Life and Death. I get made fun of a lot for liking twilight.

My Twilight days have come and gone. But like Christine said, the Twilight series was what got me hooked back on reading. I may not be into it anymore, but I'll always be grateful that it saved me and gave me that push to start reading again.

OMG I love Cassandra Clare she's my favorite author I just found out about you today but my top 3 fav book series are infernal devices, iron trial and the following one to it, and finally mortal instruments ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was expecting to see the divergent trilogy
2nd and 3rd book were not as good as the first

Red_Queen_of_Shadow-Hunters And_Crows it was good but not as good as the first.
***** I don't really mind slow books...but the fact that the plot in Insurgent is more complex is part of why I loved it so much. And it really another side of Tris in the way Tris was experiencing PTSD etc. I also really think that the whole book, well the whole trilogy really conveys a really good message not just in the importance of family but also what sacrifice really means and a lot of other things...
I think the reason why people didn't like Allegiant was that it wasn't as action-packed as Divergent or whatever and I get that but the book really (as I said) conveys a message that's really moving in a way...
And yeah, that plot twist at the end if Divergent was fantastic.
The cliffhanger at the end of Insurgent left me reeling and flailing all over the place.
The end of Allegiant left me drowning in my own tears...
And what more could I ask for? That's all I want from books, to feel. Not fantastic mind blowing plots, or heart pounding action, as long as a book makes me feel feelings then it certainly did its job.

Sydbug Nano Yes, I found all of them fantastic! Well, just a few of the books I feel could have been better. What annoys me is when an author comes up with an absolutely amazing plot, but then does not write a book that's as good as it could have been.
People who talk shit about twilight didn't read the books and they simply don't understand the saga like we do.

I've read more YA than most kids my age (i think) and I'm really liking it. (Including Hunger Games, Divergent, The Lunar Chronicles and I'm planning to read more after I finish the Percy Jackson books) The only thing I'm worried about is not experiencing the books in the best possible way since I might not really be able to relate. But, and this is regarding Izzy Bonito's comment, I'm not really interested in contemporary, more so fantasy so I'm hoping it won't be a problem. BTW, I'm 11 years old.

*WE DEMIGODS RECOMMEND.* You should really read Percy Jackson. Then you can either read Heroes of Olympus after that or the Kane Chronicles but I read Heroes of Olympus before Kane Chronicles. Kane Chronicles had a reference to Heroes of Olympus because they took place at the same time. Then after that you can either read Trials of Apollo or Magnus Chase. I read Trials of Apollo first though, and I'm on Magnus Chase and the Hammer of Thor. Good luck on your journey of a lifetime and Rick trolling you by making the biggest cliffhangers ever mi amigo.
I read the first 200 pages or so of the first volume, but I couldn't get into it. I didn't care much for the characters and the humor was very forced for me. Which I really do not like. :)

So I was in a bad reading slump that has been heavily going on since May of last year. I was having a lot of trouble, and I have a copy of Throne of Glass. So I took the risk of maybe sinking me deeper into the slump but it surprisingly saved my reading life! I started TOG in late January and I'm reading Heir of Fire right now. Seriously thank you Christine I bought TOG because of you!

I agree with you. I love Cassandra Clare's books, and they are the best books ever written. Both Infernal Devices, and Mortal Instruments. The first Dark Artifacts book (sequel to Mortal Instruments) comes out on March 8, 2016. I AM SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!! She knows how to wrap up a good book series!!!

Favorite series for meh: percy jackson & the olympians, heroes of olympus, trials of apollo, kane chronicles, magnus chase and deh gods of asgard, duh, percy jacksons greek gods, percy jacksons greek heroes, well those greek gods amd heroes arent a series (i think) but basically everything of rick riordans books are meh favorites, 🙂

Mine (in order) are Harry Potter, Twilight, Lorien Legacies, Maze Runner, Hunger Games, Perry Jackson, Uglies (and a few others which I read when I was younger but still can't seem to take off my list). It seems that we have similar tastes bc any of the books that are on your list but aren't on mine, I haven't actually read. So I have a lot of catching up to do lol. You should read Rangers Apprentice and Brother and Chronicles. They somewhat connect. Like, once. But still it is good!!

Percy Jackson is one of my favorite character's of all time and I haven't read the last book in the Heroes of Olympus series because so many of my friends have said that it's a letdown so don't feel bad about not liking that book. From what i've heard the amount of hype outshines the book. Apparently it was a good book but there was far too much hype and it coudn't live up to the hype.
I have been wanting to immerse my self into The Infernal Devices. Clockwork Angel is amazing but I haven't been able to sit down and just enjoy the book (I haven't finished Clockwork Angel yet but I'm almost there) but seriously this world Cassie has made is phenomenal. For the next 6 books (Clockwork Prince and Princess, the last half of TMI and Lady Midnight) I will hopefully be able to sit down and read them since it's almost summer.

so you cant read the infernal devices if you havent read the mortal instruments complete series?? because I've only read city of bones but honestly I didnt like it that much, and i'm intriged about the infernal devices because its set in the past wich I find a lot more interesting so.. can anyone tell me if its a good idea to get into the series whithout reading the mortal instruments??

What i've been told is you can read TMI up until BOOK 3, then you NEED TO HAVE FINISHED TID before reading BOOK 4 - i just finished TID 2 days ago and i am a wreck and a half

The way you see Harry Potter is the way I see Percy Jackson like those books I read and I was the same age as Percy in every book while reading then and I feel you! I get that feeling and it's amazing!

if you like interweaving trilogies, try the books by Robin Hobb. They eventually converge, but even at the start you learn things in one trilogy that explains stuff in the previous trilogies. It's so amazing!
We have such similar taste in books - read cinder, harry potter (grew up with him too) hunger games, percy jackson, twilight & mortal instruments! Looking forward to reading some of the ones you suggest :D

I started following you recently, so I wasn't sure what would be on your list... but I knew Harry Potter would be #1! :) I haven't read many of these series yet - thanks for the recommendations!
When I was a teen and young adult (many moons ago), I read The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist, and The Empire Trilogy by Feist and Janny Wurts. Together, these books make up the Riftwar Cycle... and they are amazing!!! Have you ever read them? If not, you should!!
The Riftwar starts when a rift forms between two worlds and connects them. The Riftwar Saga follows Pug, an orphan who learns how to be a magician during a time of war in his world of Midkemia (the first book is aptly called Magician). People from the other world, Kelewan, come through and attack Pug's world. All the action in The Riftwar Saga happens in his land.
Then you start reading The Empire Trilogy, which takes place on the other world! It follows Mara, a young woman who must lead her house when her father and brother die. She starts out meek and grows into an amazing leader! The differences between the two worlds is so fascinating! I loved these books when they first came out back in 1982-1993, and I highly recommend them. :) This is one of the series on my personal all-time favorite series list. Since you enjoy magic and fantasy in general, I think you'd love these books! =)
