There's some key things I wanted to talk about the iPhone 14 Pro Max and some things that stuck out to me after switching to my new daily driver, the S23 Ultra. I was having serious RF issues with my 14 Pro Max. I ended up selling it and getting an S23 Ultra, and honestly the modem is a breath of fresh air.

My iPhone 14 Pro Max runs the same way it did when I got it on release day. I could set it down and not pick it up for a year and it'd still work the same way once I boot it up. Whatever changes Apple did with each iOS update, I can't even tell, TBH. Some nerd will tell me all the changes but realistically, none of us will notice unless we're looking for them (we're not).

Dude, it’s only been a few months.. wait for those future buggy iOS updates. 😅 my iPhone 12 just started stuttering for no reason after the iOS 16 update lineup.

I was so disappointed in my 14 Pro Max that I ended up paying the early upgrade fee and trading it in to get the S23 Ultra. After using this phone, I don't see myself going back to Apple unless they make some major changes

Did you do the Samsung trade in program for the s23 ultra I want to trade in my 14 pro for the s23 ultra myself just curious how the experience was
But the iPhone retains resale value, unlike Samsung phones that depreciate faster than ever.
On the Samsung website they are only offering £150 for Apple devices no matter what device (including 14PM). The trade in is not worth it. Unless there is anywhere else the trade in is more?

Just got my iPhone 14 Pro Max Space Black version yesterday! Looks and feels like really good in the hand except the sharp edges. Gonna hold on tightly to this and exchange it for iPhone 15 pro max.
What's crazy is I've been using windows 11 and pixel 6a but upgrading to the s23 ultra. I tried too see the iphone 14 pro. But I haven't seen a huge upgrade.

I am an older german filmmaker with the FX6 but since one week I have the iPhone 14 pro max for filming and I uploaded a short test video 🎥 and it has a good quality, definitely not similar to the FX6 but for holidays and private footage very good 👍🏻

I can’t wait to get rid of my 13 pro Max due to wanting to be able to do more with my device for work mainly so when the Z Fold 5 drops I’m going to pull the trigger and switch to android again
I notice on the max the island isn’t in the way, but the smaller pro screen I seem to ‘notice’ it more. It might be my eyes.

Hey friends i would like to know is there still any issues like imessage and facetime activation issues, car play, data migration and icloud bugs, shaking camera, random restarts, lock screen and dynamic island glitches and excessive battery drain/horizontal lines.

Counterpoint about your reception issue. Bars don't matter. mbps do. At my house, on my Z Fold4, I got 5 bars of T-Mobile 5G UC but speeds of 400-450mbps. On my 14 Pro Max, I get 2 bars of T-Mobile 5G UC but speeds of 450-650mbps. Bars don't matter. You should get fast cellular speeds regardless and if you don't, just use Wi-Fi for calls and data.

Mainly Google, I just search for specific things like "foggy forest wallpaper", or something. - But recently I started using an app called Backdrops and it's where I've found a lot of my favorites :)

Quick question--and I agree, the S23 Ultra is a better phone as I have both- How can you complain about the size of the 14 Pro Max when the S23 Ultra is your “daily driver”? I can use the 14 Pro Max with one hand. It’s nearly impossible to do so with the S23 Ultra.

Ive been an iphone user now for 10 years, and have now decided to switch over to the samsung galaxy. Reason for that has nothing to do with performance, but apple doesnt seem to expand their software very much. They dont really add a lot of new features, everything always seems to stay very limited in what you can do. They havent even added new ringtones or notification sounds in atleast 10 years. Apple is always smooth and a very reliable phone, but they seem to lack in other departments that samsung does incredibly well in
About the ringtones tho it’s pretty easy to add custom ringtones

I seem to get poor reception in my condo which is 20 floors high both on my 13 pro max as well as my s20fe and any other device. Battery life isn’t nearly what it once was as well
Interesting about the reception, could just be the area and concrete walls, but yeah with my experience every phone I've used has outperformed the iPhone when it comes to signal here in my unit. - Even the non max 14 Pro (which I ended up returning because of a defective ear-piece speaker) had that issue with the reception.
@@valismind assumed we had similar situation since we’re both in condos. Apparently being so high up is the main reason I get poor reception even when I’m by the window as I heard cell towers point downwards so the closer to the ground, the stronger the signal. When I’m outside I get the full 4 LTE bars but at home it fluctuates from 1-3. Also when I’m out and about, the signal also fluctuates a lot depending on how close I am to a tower which kinda nukes the battery quickly as well.

This is funny because most people are talking about how relieving it’s been for them switching from a 14 pro max to the s23 ultra, but as a Samsung lover since the galaxy s8 plus I’ve had every Samsung until the s23 ultra. I thought of switching to iPhone after so long of being bored of Samsung and chose the 14 pro max and I have to say there were a lot of upgrades and downgrades but the downgrades were worth it imo for the nice secure and fast operating system(downgrades being not able to download apps 3rd party,customisation, lack of Fortnite, can’t save my game progress due to no google play games etc).
I’ve had Samsung for too long and got kinda fed up of the software side of things because my phones would slow down pretty fast after buying the newest ones from the heavy storage demanding os.
Another big upgrade I feel like with Apple is the build quality of their devices feel much more premium than Samsung because they use stainless steel with reflective shiny coatings on the side giving it a nice finish whereas Samsung still use aluminium which is starting to feel cheap for the £1249 price range in uk.
All in all both these devices are very solid and you can’t go wrong with either.
The performance, battery and displays are very similar so you won’t be able to tell the difference much except from cameras, the s23 ultra is arguably the best camera smartphone out of the 2.
In my country many users have green screen issues on iphone 13 and 14 pro, pro max. And many users trade their iphone for Samsung Galaxy. They were so disappointed with the iphone quality this time
The only problem I have with Samsung is that if this issue happened on my S23 Ultra there’s almost no way to get reliable support/ service for it here in Canada. Whereas with the iPhone I could walk to an Apple Store. But I see what you mean.
Man I wish my iPhone 14 Pro Max had a sim card slot, this eSim thing has been a trash experience for me. Its the only real issue I have with it
Can’t believe they went eSIM only in the states. So silly LOL.
Have you had issues with it? Apart from the fact you can’t physically take out the sim what are the issues with eSim? Just curious as I am in the UK and I actually opted for eSim and have had no issues with it 👍🏽

I'm from the Netherlands and regularly travel within Europe (EU), using an eSIM, and having no issues whatsoever.

Yeah, iOS has not had a good run as of late. Battery has seemed to plummet hard. Not entirely sure why.

I am an Android user (Galaxy Note 9) for a long time and I want to switch to iPhone 14 pro max... I bought an 11-inch iPad Pro and I want to join the apple ecosystem... Would you advise someone who has used Android their whole life to switch to iPhone 14 pro max Or buy s23 ultra?
I sold my iphone 13 pro rather impulsively and got an S23U and I regret selling my 13 pro.. now thinking of returning the Samsung and going for the 14 pro or pro max.

iPhone 12 is a solid iPhone, and if I was forced to use it I would, there’s nothing wrong with it and it’s far from being old. - I don’t get anything for free, so I review what I like, and what I would buy regardless which is why I only cover what I cover on the channel. I am a consumer just like you! :)

I am just now upgrading from my 12pro max to the 14promax. I like the 12 and it’s great just a few issues. My main reason for upgrading is my phones battery has work out, and I want the newer camera.
Maybe you cherish mediocrity even when the option to have or do better exists.

It’s the modem inside the phone. - I used the same SIM on the S23U and didn’t have this issue (same carrier).

I’ve had several iPhones and that’s been one of my biggest complaints was the phone reception compared to a sub par android phone. Even in a major city android’s cell capabilities were always better.
But the 14 doesn’t use a sim. It’s E-sim 🤔so how could you put your sim in it??

You are probably forced to use 5G networks by the phone, check if you can change it to prefer LTE.
Nah, one of the plans I have doesn't have 5G. You can even see in the video the phone is on LTE

I think if apple makes the 14 120h , it will be the best choice for most users. Idk why they are being a stubborn.
In my opinion the ONLY and i mean literally the only thing that apple is better than android in is the durability and constancy. Iphone 1, 7 are still working the same , while old android mostly is a nightmare. IOS is solid.
and it's a deal breaker, Most users don't upgrade their phones every year.
When i buy an expensive phone i want it to stay reliable the furthest.
Same with the design. Iphone doesn't change their design a lot to keep the old phones on track. I feel like their design doesn't get old.
While the variety in android (which has its pros) make an Android design loses its shine. So buying an iphone with a certain performance whether you like that performance or not will last ,while android keeps getting out of date, buggy , slow, and unfashionable.
Also the price is constant so you don't lose much when you sell your iphone.
But when you buy android in the initial days it's definitely better. You don't know you need multitasking and freedom until you have them
To summarize i think people who think long-term buy iphone.
People who want short term,get bored and change their phones definitely Android is way better.
