  • This is the best way for white to attack the Caro-Kann. It's aggressive but not risky!

    This is the second game in my quest to reach 2500 lichess rapid by the end of the year. It was a Caro-Kann Exchange variation in which the most typical thing happened - white started a kingside attack and it worked. I use this myself, and always struggle against it with black.

    I like that you just ignored all the haters on the last video saying you can't do it, and just keep going. That's the right attitude.

    Idk i think this game was primarily lost because of the opening. Its just that this position is much easier to play for the white, even if both players are of the same strength.

    At the 20:30 blunder, so Rh8+ Kxh8, Nxf7+ Kg8(?), NxBd6 why not Ne4xNd6? I mean the pawn structure is ruined but you still got his rook for payment

    This hallucination around min 20 is truly remarkable, I wonder what caused it. This tactic was never possible as d6 was securely guarded.

      @@AntonStachSZN He's basically 2k and missing that squares are protected is certainly not typical for strong players. I suppose it was just a tough position to defend. White set up that attack beautifully in my opinion. I thought he played really well there, although I myself really wanted Nxg6 at all those points.

    After Qb3 I always play Qd7 with the idea of playing Bd6. If white takes out bishop we 'give up' the b pawn but that is actually not good for white.

    Not trying to be a downer, but I think 237 rating points is an insane number to try to gain in 3 months. Assuming you gain 10 points per win on average, you need to go +24 over your games to gain that number of points. If you play 2 games per day, you will need to go something like 108 W 84 L (56.25%) against increasingly strong opposition. Not saying at all that it's impossible, just that I think it's just as likely to be a question of volume as pure chess strength/playing good moves.

    Watching this through first time, I was surprised you didn’t opt to trade rooks at the critical point of your opponents attack.
    Yes the attack was promising, but you blunted the first wave and they were running out of material to throw at a checkmate - especially given their bishop wasn’t doing much.
    But more than this - it would have changed the psychology of the games position - it would have been a move where you dictated your opponent’s following action after a long period of playing reactively and started putting pressure on them, which is the sort of situation that can bring about a blunder.
    So maybe this might be an area of your play you might wish to consider developing - the psychological side - because your technical skills are solid.
    But for me watching, I feel your play can be too reactive and overly concerned on what your opponent is trying to do, rather than getting your opponent to worry about what you’re doing.

    Ha! This is my favourite way to meet the Caro-Kann. Those Queen's Gambit Exchange (1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.cxd5 exd5) positions with colours reversed are pleasant to play as White. More difficult to meeg are lines with ...g6 imo.

    Have you tried the lines e4 c6 d4 d5 exd5 cxd5 Bd3 Nf6 c3 Bg4! Qb3 Qc7 before? Because it stops Bf4 and really prevents quite a bit of activity from white. If Ne2 trying to go Bf4 you just take on e2 with Bxe2! And after Bxe2 you can play e6 and Bd6 with a really good chance to play for a win

    • @thetotalitarianturtle3755
      @thetotalitarianturtle3755 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      Qc7 is a solid line but also a potential loss of tempo. White can still go for the h3 systems and Black is left having played Qc7 for a move rather than another developing move when they might want to go Qb6 or Qa5 later so it took two tempi to move once. It's an okay line but there's a reason that it's not too popular if White knows what they're doing

      That’s not really true though. I’m between 2100-2200 lichess and play the Berlin as black with a great plus score. You just have to stay patient and slowly build up. There are a lot of pieces on the board and no obvious plans, making the positions quite hard to play for white.
