Wow the quality of the play in these games is really getting amazing now - great to see this juxtaposed with some of the lower ranked games all in the same series, just shows how far there is to go
The fact that black didn't trade his rook for it when he got the chance was mindboggling to me - that horsey is the bane of black's existence and he should be thrilled to get rid of it.
@@davidmunro546in my opinion naroditsky does TON of lower rated elo speed runs, I actually love seeing 1700-2300 because I just hit the 1700 threshold so it’s good to see what people at this level play like
22:54: -1.8 on the eval bar. The rook takes the knight, and then there is pawn e4, which 1) attacks the rook, 2) attacks another rook with the bishop, 3) attacks your pawn with the queen, which then also ready to go after your king. Guess rooks on the third rank are not common for a reason:) I think the second game was the most exciting game so far.
It kills me that once you said "black has a tactic here" I saw it immediately, but i missed it while watching the game. I feel like after every move i should repeat that magical phrase and somehow catch things.
@13:11 Black could actually sack the rook for the dominant knight after b4 and get a winning position by playing e4 and attacking both the rooks and an active queen
Thank you Eric! Always waiting for your videos. Great insights. I wish I would be able to find these ideas in my own games. Also, you've got a very special way of talking! It's so soothing I could use it for trying to get asleep :)
The idea of exchanging the white Bishop for the black Knight on c6 in the Sicillian, and then planting the Knight on d5 was first played by the former world champion Vassily Smislov, in his game vs Iosif Rudakovsky, back in 1945. The game became famous in the Soviet Union, an instant classic, and was a compulsory lesson shown to all kids in chess schools all over the USSR.
As a Sicilian player, my worst nightmare is my opponent's horsey planted on D5 just like in the 1st game. Thanks for the super instructive games, Eric :)
Opponent in first game could have sacrificed the exchange on d5 after b4 and when you take back there was e4, attacking the rook on f3 and discovering an attack on the other rook on c3 with the bishop, it would have been -2.5 for black. What's funny is i didn't even see the tactic at first i just thought that the knight was so powerful it made sense to go for the exchange sac and i saw this when i checked with the computer. Would have been pretty cool if we saw it happen.
Hi Eric 👋 I doubt you will see this but i just need to give my thanks. I am but a monkey brained 1300 but i got my first ever brilliant move today from the almighty stafford gambit. I am extremely happy, i used to hate playing as black as i only knew the scandanavian which i hate but always played cause a levy video stuck in my head 🙄 Thank you for sharing your beautiful chess my man, you are the epitome of a gentleman and i wish you the best.
In the second game, a3 shows where players even at 2100 go wrong by protecting pawns instead of playing with the initiative. An IM would never have worried about Qxa2. That said, White kept the pressure on after that.
If there ever was a 'Most Instructive Chess Streamer' (MICS) Championship title, you would win it miles ahead of the runners-ups. Gggreeat Stufff mate 🤜
I especially enjoyed the second last game where you were wondering if you might be stepping into a Greek Gift. Ironically, right before watching, I viewed another upload from a Grandmaster that was specific to the Greek Gift. Loved the breakdown of the game after. 🍕🍕🍕
In analyzing the second game, Eric stepped quickly past a miss of his, too quickly to catch the movement in the eval bar. After white played 26.Qa5, Eric responded with Rd8. Instead, he should have played Be7. With that move, black threatens to play Bf6 on the next move, skewering the queen and the bishop. White can save the bishop by playing c4, threatening the knight. Play continues: 27... Bf6 28.Qe2 (covering the bishop) Bxb2 29.Qxb2 Qf6 30.Qxf6 Nxf6 The balance of material remains the same, but black has relieved much of the pressure. Stockfish eval is -1.9, compared with -0.6 after 26... Rd8.
At around 12.30 what about Rxc8? If you take with the queen then Nxb6+. If Rxc8 then Qxf7+ infiltrates and if Kxc8 then Rc3+ followed by Rc7 looks very strong.
Idk why but in the first game I got so upset with black that he didn't sacrifice the rook for the knight to have a huge advantage, missed opportunities are the toughest to accept. After b5 from white, instead of making a mistake Rc6, black could've played Rxd5 exd5 and e4! Discovered attack on both rooks winning material (Saw the tactic and engine agrees with this line). By the way I watch this series from episode 1 and I have to admit, not only is it addicting, it's very helpful as well. Thanks for creating these videos!
2:11 isnt black just winning by Nxd4 ? if queen captures d5. Oh yea Its mentioned in the analysis 18:29. pretty sure I blundered my queen like this in blitz XD
not sure im about 1450 lichess on 5 min - but when eric makes "wrong" move at least my mind screeming = no should not have played it - sign of improvement ... perhaps

I enjoy seeing the classic reference games, thanks for bringing it in after game 1!
The knight was like ''what you gon do bro?'' all game 1 lmao
An octopus knight 😂
The fact that black didn't trade his rook for it when he got the chance was mindboggling to me - that horsey is the bane of black's existence and he should be thrilled to get rid of it.
Yet another hour feeling like a champ. Now losing games until the next episode. Great series!
I saw a comment that asked for lower rating speedrun but i highly disagree
The each game is extremely helpful on thoughts and how to set up pieces.
I haven’t seen that comment but I do understand. Playing at the lower levels I’ve seen some openings and set ups that I’ve never seen in any video.

He started from minimum elo, you can go check that out
They can also go watch the speedrun from the beginning. Those are low rated opponents.
game 2 was electric!! great episode as always :)

13:05, b4 was a huge blunder, RxD5, ExD5 and then e4.
It kills me that once you said "black has a tactic here" I saw it immediately, but i missed it while watching the game.
I feel like after every move i should repeat that magical phrase and somehow catch things.
Its the downside to doing puzzles. Knowing theres a tactic there.
I can honestly say in 40+ years of playing chess the words "now I assert my dominance" have never come out of my mouth before, during or after a game.
This knight in first game was even more useful than pack of zipties in my Dodge.
@13:11

Very instructive, Eric! This is around my level and it's extremely useful to see your thought process. Ive been enjoying the Speedrun! 👊🏻
you don't need to pay for expensive chess courses when there is a youtube channel called eric rosen
As a Sicilian player, my worst nightmare is my opponent's horsey planted on D5 just like in the 1st game. Thanks for the super instructive games, Eric :)
54:09 "I think it makes sense to push. ERRR OOOOO WAAAH probably not" It's a good job it's not touch move, Eric!

Same here. I thought the whole point of Rc5 was to set up Rxd5 just to get rid of that Knight. The tactical shot would have been a bonus!
Nice find! 13:12 for anybody wondering
@pauladkisson1138 thank you.
Man that move c4 was explosive!
You are the one and only dominator. Much bruv. Thanks so much. You're the best! :-)))

Love these videos especially as your rating gets higher and higher

I live for those “I’m going to go for it” moments…
You put that first opponent in a cage! Great stuff as always.
Excellent played! Second opponent was really good
i love watching eric assert dominance
Eric Rosen the dominator!
Eric please bring back the "treat every blunder as a gambit" mug in the larger size! I will buy one.
first game was brutal but black defended really well
eric rosen alpha chess god asserting his dominance
Gambits only speedrun next!!

First game first time I've seen Eric up on time in this run haha
Second game felt like playing an 800 who goes for scholar’s mate and then makes every mate-in-1 threat imaginable except they’re 2100 strength
And/or “opponent demonstrated full clock awareness”
He is 2100 tho, most people's position would crumble under that pressure...
Thanks Eric!
The title 💀
The video 😊
That knight was brutal

at 31:15 Qxc2 was a much better option to counter attack the bishop
the speed really ran this time

Joshieotter played well for his rating. Kudos to that guy or girl.
Did you stream your duck chess tournament? Or will you post analysis of the games here or on Extra? Congrats on your great finish there.
Keep it GOOOIIIINNNGG
14:20 You know why C4 is so good?
Because it prevents black from infiltrating?
No, because it's explosive.
2:11 isnt black just winning by Nxd4 ? if queen captures d5.
Oh yea Its mentioned in the analysis 18:29. pretty sure I blundered my queen like this in blitz XD
sipping a beverage from the ER beverage sipping cup
Hey Eric of course love looking at you but the board only being 1/2 of the screen makes it painful to watch on mobile
43:56 ive had a 2400+ fall into the beginner trap in a 10min game D:D:
in the first match you totally suffocated your opponent.would definetly like to know how to play like that
What's the Bobby Fisher game????
Surely you aren't still in Norway? But the tagline in the description still says Trondheim.
Let's go!
I got a jalepeno from the store and it wasn't even spicy.
Eric Rosey for fide president 2025 Eric must be fide president
Most opponents will also not fight you for the center if you mark your territory by lifting your leg and peeing on d4 and e4.

New video!
And one mouse slip
First game was c l e a n
AND THEN I PLAY C4 AND ASSERT MY DOMINANCE
not sure im about 1450 lichess on 5 min - but when eric makes "wrong" move at least my mind screeming = no should not have played it - sign of improvement ... perhaps
Chess/chess would chess again
What is that supposed to mean?
