You can center the tips with respect to the diffuser by undoing the 2 hangers that hold the rear exhaust, re-align your tips, in both horizontal and vertical directions, then tighten the bolts (13mm)

Ya I noticed that. I make pick up some APR tips off ECS tuning's website and get a local muffler shop to cut the old tips off, and weld the new ones on.
Just so happened to be looking on google for some replacement tip for my Mk7 Golf Gti and your video came up, i have enquired about whether these will be transferable between the 7 and 7.5, if they are i'll be investing in a set - will likely ceramic coat them to keep them looking nice! Plus i'll probably heat tape the old tail pipe to prevent scratching, unless the way you have done it has prevented the scratches from appearing.
true. this is a old mod for me. but it did work. i had hair scratches on it, but nothing i would worry about. those stock chrome is VERY durable and strong. and easy to polish out. i mainly didnt like the way the tip outlet was even smaller than the stock outlet, causing a restriction. stay tuned for a NEW tip video in about a week. hopefully the final one.
looks good! static stage 1 tune and a DSG tune(so you can better manage that power). you can only get so much boost out of the IS20 before it gives up. Spend the money on parts that support your tune (intake, intercooler , charge pipes , Down pipe, etc)
How are they holding up? This looks like a great solution for me because I don't want a whole catback exhaust, I just want my exhaust tips to match my new wheels. Can you still buy these? All I can find are the screw-on ones.

I didnt like the super gloss of the way these came. but as far as fitment, they were excellent. i dont think the "smaller exit" argument has much merit, and would not be noticeable.
They look awesome! The only thing that would turn me off on these is the outer lip being smaller in diameter than your stock tips (the inner diameter of that lip on the outside) which will create drag for the exhaust gas as it tries to exit.
If you think about the exhaust gas flowing out smoothly and then getting caught by that artificial 1/4" edge which is also curled inwards, trapping the flow, it's not even a smooth transition from stock tip to smaller diameter, so it'll create turbulence/vortex at the tip. If the direction you're going with this car is to get it perfect in every way and get only the proper mods for it, then this seems a bit of a mickey mouse mod with how they are designed unless you can modify the tips. I'd look into that autozone pipe extender to enlarge the ID of the tips! You can rent the tool, it's used on piping and works well.
ah the mirror black wasnt sitting well with me. i dunno, its just nothing like all the blacks i love, like my flat black with the clear coating i always do.
yeah I suppose it might be something you'd have to get used to. Can they be painted flat black or can burger tuning make custom ones in the color you like.

Just get a catback system with some custom (proper sized) tips...? like..? instead of faking it just go with a catback, idk I just don't get the point of these

Especially with your car being brand new? I run it on mine and love it. Maintains factory warranty since there is no flashing. Plus there are tons for sale on the used market for much cheaper than the $430 new price. Food for thought. Looking forward to seeing future mods!
Funny at first I was like I love the look of the stock tips. Then when I saw the one stock vs the one you put on I was like oh damn nevermind the stock looks bad now
hmm im trying to embrace them. there are a couple negatives.. the outlet hole is indeed a hair smaller. and you have no room to clean the top of the tips. I do wish they were less shiny, but damn they do fit good.

I used Burger Tuning products with my former car, BMW 335i, and they make excellent stuff. Tips look good on the VW!

no.... they changed up the godamn links.. these tips arent even sold anymore. ill remove the link in my details so no one gets confused.
they do still have the billet tips though, which are a lot nicer. but the only fit mk6 and mk7, not mk7.5... if you want an easy slip-on..

couldnt tell you, unless mk6 tips are the exact same size as mk7 tips. (but not mk7.5 like mine)

the outside diameter of the stock mk7.5 tips is 3.5", but it might be as much as 3.6"
i already threw out the cut off chrome from mine or else i could be exact. but i prob have a measurement in some of my more recent tip videos.
