The making prize cars a one only thing is only worth if you can choose the colour of the prize car, or if you can change the colour later. That was a big issue (at least to me) in the original game, trying to score a prize car in the paintjob that I wanted, and it would be a deal breaker if it was a one time only thing.
It's really looking good, even after 20 years, nice job ! Maybe you could make the GT Auto staff and car lighter ? Both look quite dark considering the orange screen.
@@Floyd..B the game loads a specific image and that image is cast on the reflection of the car. the image is like a circle with some lights in a room which makes the car look like its in a shop/dealer when its on the reflection. there are a few of those
This is a great thing tbh , also i wanted to know if someone can actually make the car dirty like in mafia 2 so when you clean it , it's even more noticable . Anyway great mod and great video man
tbh dirtiness was always a thing in GT4 but the way they implemented it was too unnoticable for PS2 players. I dont think another way (like actual dirt on the car) is implementable. personally, i first started playing this game when it was new and never noticed it until i began playing on PCSX2 for online. the thing i implemented was the realistic logic of dirty cars worth less and used cars are not often sold pristine. they have dirty oil so their looks also should be dirty. thanks for your kind words :)
awesome job man, do you think variable time progression with different skyboxes would be possible (specifically for the endurance events)? i feel like this would round off the game for me as a whole.
dynamic time is impossible, because engine side thing. the best thing could be in my mind (its a very long stretch) making duplicates of a track with different skyboxes and both car and course lighting alongside with making cars able to cast realistic light. combining all, its pretty much impossible
Yes. If you could find a way to make prize cars only winnable once (but then become buyable in the dealership) that would be ideal. Not sure how you'd do the cars that don't even appear in the showroom though...
If you want to balance progression, any prize cars that are shown on the dealership in "Special Cars" should be showroom models, some that are less rare than others could be purchasable, but not all. Most of these should appear, albeit rarely, on used car lots, like how it already works in the game, but expanded, with more models appearing (basically if it would make sense for it to appear on the Legendary Cars showroom from GT7, it should be a very rare find on the used auto dealers in here). Try distributing single race series prizes into championships and endurances instead, with more possible prizes per event.. if possible, since I don't know how many prize cars there actually are, so if not, make them an only once prize, but all, again, should rarely appear on UCD. Try having prizes you only earn once be very rare, one of a kind vehicles, like with prototypes or extremely rare vehicles like the Model T and Benz Patent Wagen. Put more prize cars in championships, with random chance. Aren't there some manufacturer event's prize cars just unique paints? Those could also be a rare sight on UCD, so that actually rare car models are put as prizes on those that have championships.
each prize is tied in script file .. its like win race A, get car A you cant really randomize it. Even if you can it'd not be a good idea because people have a chance to get the worse car and cant win a prize from that event again. LCD idea is interesting though. people tend to skip UCD list changes because they are files per week so you have 100 files of lists
@@hatersbby I meant like you would be able to win it every time, but not on all events, or many events wouldn't even have prize cars, but some would and the prize is random but always awarded.
Man making all prizes winnable only once fucking sucks, its one of the thing I hated the most from gt5... like, you got around 700 cars and you expecting me to give them a try without being able to get credits easily? holy shit. Money farming is already stale and time consuming, making the game harder in that sense will just make it worse. I like some of the modifications shown though, nice job there pal :)
the mod's aim to be as hard as it could be without unnaturality. the game wouldnt be as fun if you earned 600k instead of 265k for the RSC rally car for example(i removed price tag from it). it will also add spice if you sell a prize car that has an event, you will lock your progress
@@hatersbby Your progress is phenomenal but I honestly have to say that I consider the idea that a run can be "spicier" by soft locking to honestly be a terrible idea. No game designer should lock their players out of content or progress over a decision like selling a car. Unfairness and arbitrary walling of content aren't spicy; it's unfair and arbitrary. I urge that you reconsider this and look into an alternative form of balance (like nerfing prize car values which afaik is what GT2 A-spec did)

GT6 lets you pick colors maybe such thing can be implemented to GT4 but gotta look at it

Thanks. if i change the picture that takes care of the lighting with a dealer's one there is a chance but , maybe.
I think they opted for slightly darker one to emphasize the shine effect. the dealer's one is slightly brighter but im not really comfortable with it

winnable once feature is a spice for careless players which may cause a progress softlock if the car is sold before a specific event is done.

i did not like the cars getting dirty during long races, i would rather have a option to turn it of via a cheat code
