    Great looking design Rav. The finish brought all the life back into the piece. It was almost like the wood was smiling after getting the fine treatment you gave it.
    Take care,
    Gary

      Thank You very much, Gary 🤝🤗 The walnut wood is a very grateful species. Always makes me happy when I'm turning it. I would turn only walnut wood but as You said in Your last video that You want to turn some different type of wood which is not seen to often at Your channel.
      All the best my friend 💪

      Thank You very much, Greg 🤝 Accidentally I deleted a video from the turntable and there You could to see much more details 🫢 It was important because every walnut piece is totally different, like a labirynth.

    I wish I had your eye for style, Rav. You are an artist, my friend. The vase has lovely color and grain but the style and details you applied make it just beautiful! Great job, buddy! 😊

      Thank You very much, Phil 🤝 Honestly I have to say that is hard to figure out new styles which are hidden before our eyes. I mix them, join together. For sure the wood is doing the main work with a style. The same shape on different species of wood gives totally different effect. We can copy the shape but we can't copy the grain.

    Good find Rav ! Yep you certainly found the beauty in that wood ! I recently used resin+acetone to keep a 1x6 inch poplar lid from splitting apart. Successfully. Thanks for sharing. Take care. -Mike

    Really like this one Rav.
    It's a vase of 2 halves, one side highly figured on one side and relatively plain on the other side.
    Love the finish on it.
    Great video my friend.
    Take care Rav.

      I thought exactly the same. When I rough turned the vase in January I tried to make a vase from two halfs of different species of wood but I wasn't happy with the final effect and it end as a firewood 🤷

    Great piece Rav. I really like how you add extra detail, great skill. I have often used the same method of resin and acetone to stabilize punky wood with good results.

      @Secondlifeofwoodturning  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank You very much 🤝 Its hard to figure out a new details and add those to the projects but sometimes on different species of wood it looks totally different. I would not to use resin and acetone but sometimes the piece of wood is too beautiful to put it on fireplace.

    Great job sticking with a piece of wood that was not ideal. Those bad conditions caused a lot of beautiful colors in the wood.
    I would suggest that you use the shellac before the wax for that bright shine.
    Well done my friend.

      You are totally right. Bad looking pieces before turning are always good looking after turning 👍 Yes it would look like shellac was used before waxing but it proofs that resin and acetone goes deep into the wood and hardened the wood.

    Woohoo what a beutefull grain pattern and the vase just suite it, what was the percentage of acetone to resin?? Thanks for sharing your videos Rav 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍👍.Ernie smith from brisbane Australia

    • @Secondlifeofwoodturning
      @Secondlifeofwoodturning  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ernie and thank You 🤝
      I mixed resin and acetone 3:1 (gram:mililiter, for example 45g of resin and 15ml of acetone) because it was a small volume of mixture. When I need more I'm mixing it 2:1 because acetone vapour very fast and resin getting sticky again and not soaking into the wood.
      How is the winter in Brisbane now? I suppose is warm because West side of Australia is the hottest part of the continent.
      All the best 👍
