Aussie Aussie Aussie GDAY MATE from brisbane Australia, thank you for sharing this techie with us all. It's a game changer for me, what to do with cracks in woodturing. Not like some people just through it away, unusable wood. Thank Rav. Ernie smith from brisbane Australia
Gorgeous bowl Rav! The yew strips were a good way to strengthen the blank for turning and they look good as well. I have cracked bowl blank sitting on the shelf for over two years now because I couldn't decide how to fix it. Now I have an idea thanks to you! Thanks for sharing! Stuart
I love that bowl! The banding adds a wonderful effect. I love how the geometry turns straight lines into curves. I know you were doing it to help deal with the cracks, but to me it's a feature that adds a lot of beauty. A wonderful piece of wood. Thank you for sharing.
You are so smart Bro; I would have never thought to slice the crotch piece and and add veneer. The spalting adds so much to the finished bowl. My wife said “beautiful” and “excellent” !
You Both have a good eyes to find a pieces of art. 😉 Thank You very much 🤗 Yes, it was risky a bit to not destroy natural pattern. Thin veneers and staright cuts are the most important. Lately I'm creating almost only original projects. You Both will see it soon👍
Thank You very much, Micheline 💐 The sound of voice is the highest as possibile but the sound of turning I'm taking low because it can be annoying a bit for some of my subscribers.
Stunning, Rav! Especially considering what you started with. Great vision, prep and layout. Great job, fun video!😃

Lovely. You did a great job adding the strips to add strength, but also to add interest into an already interesting blank. Well done.
The lighter colored lines look great against the Spalted wood.. And such a beautiful finish. Well Done..!
Just a beautiful modern bowl, and really perfectly done.

That is a spectacular bowl !!. Very clever fix to the cracking problem you had. And the bands added to the bowls character.
