  • After breaking a cheap Chinese-made tool, I decide to fabricate my own tube bending tool to bend a power steering line to fit my Cummins swapped GMC C3500HD.

    Your honesty in your videos is much appreciated. We learn from your mistakes with you. The "bleep" reminds us that you are human too. ;-) Like everyone else, Im anxiously awaiting the first start

    Man I can't wait to see that Cummins revving!! A lathe would really come in handy for you. Great video Waldo! 👌

      Oh my goodness, I would love to have a lathe! One of these days... 🤠

    Now that you've made a few tools, you'll have to get yourself a little tool makers stamp to mark them with. I'm sure those tools will outlast most of us!

      Ooh, that's a good idea! 👌

    Ya know, I'm the sort that wouldn't embark on the project at all unless I just dive in like u did. However, drawing this on paper and visualizing it a bit more would have saved some labor lost. Anyway, nothing is lost. Education at the least. Great job documenting this little journey!

    Love it !!! Trial and error engineering is how I operate!! These little "unplanned " videos are great, you should try reverse engineering other tools to make them better. Maybe a video a week??? Great job buddy!

    I Like your videos and can’t wait to see the Cummins swap done. A tip when cutting steel, cut the holes first. At about 10:30 you cut the outline of the part it fell on the floor, then you had to pick up a hot part and clamp it to the table again to cut the hole. Cut the hole first

      Why do you buy cheap products from from China and then criticize the low quality of products made in china? Do you not realize you’re supporting those manufacturers?

    Waldo
    Good job of centering the 1/4 " tapped holes in the rollers and yes, Chineseium is a commonly found alloy these days. But Don't eat the Chinese food and then curse their junk tools. Its just not consistent OK? Glad to see you back on the truck! I'm amazed at you ingenuity.

    • @WaldosWorld
      @WaldosWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I try to avoid the Chinesium, but sometimes I need (or want) a tool right away and I settle for what I can get locally 😂

    I enjoyed the video. When you moved the small pieces closer to the roller you loss leverage. Thats why it was so hard to bend. Good problem solving to a complicated situation.

    You could see the pipe stretch with the well made tool, it just stretched the pipe with ease that's one beefy pipe bender lol maybe the OD of that pipe is a lot thinner now, it be fine 😬

    Hi Waldo , you could have mounted the the two small rollers to the fixed part of your four inch drill vice and the larger roller to the moveing jaw of the drill vice and hay presto a small bender is made quick and simple but i love the cardboard cad , just how i work things out never time to learn cad . great work.

    Why do every amarican TH-camr remove the shield on the grinder? Yes, it might be in the way 1% of the time, but it might also save you from
    injure if the disc breaks.
    To offsett the "critique", I want to say great channel. Nice filming, good voies over, you show when and why you make a mistake and how you correct it :) keep at it

    • @WaldosWorld
      @WaldosWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! In regards to the grinder guard, I always used to keep mine on until I used someone else's grinder that didn't have a guard. It was so nice to use that I immediately went home and removed my guards 🤷‍♂️

    What starter are you going to use on it?

    • @WaldosWorld
      @WaldosWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The transmission came with a Denso starter, but I found out the hard way that it doesn't fit (because the frame rail is in the way). I ended up buying a Delco 29MT which fits. This'll be in the next video 👍
