If the workers are not informed about what to do while building, that is evidence that the ownership of Selene is not doing their job. Glad your husband is knowledgeable.
Don’t mean this negatively, but if you have to spend that much time supervising a build of a yacht costing that much, it means the builder isn’t doing their job.
Yes and No - what you need to remember is that this is not a production boat, it's semi-custom. Apart from the basic hull design and structural things, every Selene is customised for what the owner wants. If this were a production boat you would be right. But all the customisations are individual - so you can either a) draw it on paper and leave the shipyard to translate to reality (bearing in mind that many of the workers don't speak English and can't read what you write) or b) work with them to make sure that what you wanted is properly translated. We chose the latter - and we are grateful that the shipyard accepted so much input from us. Our input increased even more in the later stages of production!
I think you guys are in Malaysia? Meeandah was one of the boats we looked at when we were considering whether to buy a pre-loved Selene or build our own. Would be great to meet up if we end up in the same area!!
Hey guys,
Glad everything worked out with the build and delivery. Beautiful yacht
Is she the same hull and deck as the 59?
Hi Clive - yes pretty much! More videos coming soon - focussing on commissiong right now :)

Not many boat builders are happy to have owners so involved, our 60 is wonderful and l can call Howard or anyone at the factory any time
