- Over the years, there has been an influx of street racing across the Las Vegas valley. Residents in the southwest valley are now speaking out saying that there has been non-stop commotion on the streets of their neighborhood for months.
And people wonder why we hate California transplants

It’s the same problem in Skye Canyon and doesn’t seem to be a priority to local law enforcement. It’s like law enforcement is waiting to be reactive rather than proactive.
With the constant shootings on MLK and the Eastside. Plus keeping the strip safe, reckless drivers isn't priority. Even in 7 hills Henderson, where I live, we have ghetto trolls robbing stores. The news never reports on it either. We find out on the neighborhood app.
Same in Summerlin but people call us entitled and to shut up and deal with it.

Not enough is done about it. It’s always done in the North East side of town. I’ve even seen cops by when it happens and they don’t do anything. When a car is speeding on Las Vegas Blvd going over 100 mph and isn’t stopped I don’t think the cops even care.
this is exactly what defunding the police does to the morale of cops. why risk getting involved with an entitled minority that could put you in the media cross hairs and lose your job.

I'm convinced the light at Ft Apache and Blue Diamond is a Christmas Tree for drag racing. I haven't paid attention to the day of week and time, but it's about once a week, several bikes race from that intersection. I can hear it from my house. And randomly I will hear cars a few times a day racing.

The only thing you’re legal representatives only care about is a safety and protection of the tourist. They don’t care about the residence they live here. The only laws that are enforced other ones against tourist. Otherwise they don’t care about the city problems.
I saw a video where a cop pulled over I believe was a mustang. The teen was speeding. Taking this girl on their first date. The cop just gave him a warning and let him go. 5 minutes later the car was totaled and the kids were dead. Unbelievable. And the same cop was shocked. He could have prevented it.
Not enforcing the law has consequences.

This has been going since the early 2000's. If we're addressing this now, let's also talk about people doing donuts in the intersections and burnouts in parking lots.
Grand Canyon at Skye Canyon seems to be a drag strip. Daily wrecks. There are school bus stops on Grand Canyon & drivers are always speedy. Four way stops you’ll see donut marks in the intersection. This area use to be so peaceful. Now it’s going to hell.

We've had 2 cars plow through our yard Take out 2 walls and a Electric pole. We just sit and listen and wait for the next one.
Knock on wood! None yet, but we do stop and listen for the big bang. I do have to say, we get a lot of motorcycles racing, and I am pretty sure my wall is going to win that crash.

Do you mean "Summerlin"? Not surprised in that area. I had a guy almost run me off the road at 7am in that area and when we pulled over in the shopping center he was clearly high. He jumped out of the car and asked me if I was okay and sped off! That entire city is trash!

Summerlin is nowhere near blue diamond. Also note....people in Summerlin don't street race. Its all old people. And the young ones that do have access to a car worth racing don't because their cars are worth more than your house. They don't have anything to prove cause they're rich af already. Spring valley and below on the other hand....lotta ret ards down that way.

People and news reporters need to learn that there is a huge difference between Street Takeovers and Street Racing. We should be focusing on a new goal, trying to legalize Street Racing in a safer way. Build some new roads and freeways, close them off to the public and let the Speed Demons race their Tuner cars in peace, without the police giving them trouble. The public fears what they don't understand. They need to stop being afraid and learn to accept the car culture, do some homework and realize that Street Racing has been around since the 1950's. There will always be a new generation of Street Racers, and the community will continue to grow. The city could also build a couple of new Speedways, with four lanes and an oval track. However, I don't that they'll want to spend money on that. NOS Tanks and NOS Button Steering Wheels should start getting sold in all Auto Zone's and O'Reilly's stores across the country. Street Racing is the future, and hopefully it will get legalized in a safer way sometime during the next 6 years.
It will NEVER stop. If you want some change, tell these money hungry cops to give us a consistent track to play at. Most of this would go away, not all of it, but even is good car guys are gonna play on the street when we have nowhere else to go.
