At $17, it's fine, as long as you're selective with what you put on your plate. But, we've had much better luck at Pyramid Cafe. I would never paid full price for this buffet.
We ate there twice on our last trip. Really awful. I'm a breakfast person and it was the worst breakfast food I've ever eaten. So the answer is no I would not eat there again.
Luxor has been at the top of our 'worst buffet in Vegas' list for a very very long time. Thank you for preventing us from needing to go this year because it looks like they're going to win again for 2024.
Got a trip planned in the very near future and have been watching your videos for reviews of all kinds, especially food options. Thank you for all the honest reviews. It's been quite helpful in weighing out cost versus quality versus location versus overall experience. I'm feeling pretty confident about not only where we're going to be staying but also our itinerary while we're there. Thanks again!
"Uneven cooking seems to be the theme here." LOL The last time I ate at the old Pharaoh's Pheast buffet was in 2012. The first time was back in 2003. In those days it was top quality for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They had a section for Mediterranean cuisine, rivaled only by the same at the Spice Market Buffet inside the old Aladdin Hotel (Planet Hollywood).
That Vegas is dead my friend (and it is never coming back from what it seems), just keep the good memories and never go back. That is what I did at least, so much of the world left to explore
That's because Vegas is so crowded now they just have to decide will they cater to the Walmart crowd and cook massive unseasoned goop or cater to the Uber Chic and rich ASF like The Wynn. There is no more Buffet Middle Ground.
I was thinking of going to this buffet on our trip. I'm so glad you reviewed it so we knew that it wasn't worth it! I would've used my myVegas points, so glad I should use them for something else. We're going to Vegas on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning. It stinks that a lot of the good/affordable buffets aren't open during that time. I wish I would have known that before we planned the days we'd be there. Thanks for your videos! They've made planning this trip so much easier!! They're great!!!
My best guess is that buffets are in their final decline. I expect some will survive but I doubt the hotels on the strip will retain much longer and choose to replace with food courts.
In terms of cheap buffets, I would agree. And not just in Vegas but really all across the country. They were on the decline even before covid. Most of them have simply never re-opened. I still think certain kinds of buffets will exist. Brazilian BBQs come to mind. Again, not cheap by any means, but the price point *should* reflect the food quality and overall dining experience you're going to get at one. Also mongolian grills because essentially every plate you get is going to be freshly cooked and made to order. I happen to love buffets so I certainly do miss them.
@@Singleballtheory I guess you get what you pay for. In the general way that the cost of everything in Vegas is going, it doesn't add up that the AYCE concept can stack up against the general need to scrape more and more revenue per visitor. I'm a Brit who happens to love visiting Vegas ... buffets here are reasonably rare but food courts are becoming omnipresent, I guess it's very on-trend right now but that's going to kill buffets even faster (imho) and I believe there's quite a few Vegas buffets who've already succumbed to the 'conversion'
You can always go to one of the $80 buffets. Vegas is just not a bargain anymore. They used to have tons of hotel and buffet deals and made their money from gambling. IDK if people aren’t gambling as much or if the hotels are just more greedy now.
The theming that lives on within this buffet is what brings me back. The food is not gonna be top of the line but for a decent breakfast when you want a variety of options, I think it’s a pretty good for what it is
When it comes to Vegas buffets (especially post-covid), it's better to spend a bit more money and avoid places like this. There used to be some really great, less-expensive, buffets but in my experience, that's a thing of the past. Bellagio is still really good. It's not cheap but it's not $100 like Wynn and Cesar's either. I love their brunch!
Ruby you and your hubby doing great. Make that media so glad to see how much you've grown. I think I've been following you since you had like 10000 followers or something. Good luck glad to see it love it❤❤❤
I like your reviews, you are very honest and that's is much appreciated. I hate those youtubers that says everything is tasty and then I go to try..... huge disappointment Thank you, glad I subscribed your channel and happy to watch all your videos.
Thanks Ruby for another GREAT review, I am staying @ the Luxor next month and I did have thoughts of trying the buffet with the My Vegas coupon but I will use the buffet coupon for the MGM Grand. Thanks again.
We got to the Luxor buffet at the end of the day. They decided to cut up the decorated cakes that were for sale…omg! So delicious! With an ice cold glass of milk….heaven!
Another great review! Whenever me and my husband plan Vegas trips, we binge all your food videos. Would LOVE to see a review on best Mocktails in Vegas! ❤
The Bellagio brunch was $35 a piece after the coupon and I would say the level of quality was the same. Next time, if I must do a buffet I will do the Luxor.
This buffet looks like the buffets from the 1990s when they charged $4.99. It was a lost leader, but they were trying to attract people into their casino to gamble.
$20 hotel rooms and $5 buffets to get people to come gamble at their establishment. Those were the days. Now they charge through the nose for EVERYTHING. Vegas is not a great place to go anymore.
A made to order omelette or some sliced ham or turkey and side of fruit would be a good choice…and a good deal for “on strip” prices… * IF* it’s BOGO. Thank you for the review.😊
"I loved how themed it is"... LOL... that is my first Vegas Memory, all the themed hotels! My first trip, I rode rides at the MGM Theme park!! - where the signature towers are now.
Hola Rubi. A comment from a Mexican living in Mexico, rice could be as the one you ate, and or orange. Usualy white rice goes with platano macho frito, fried macho banana (different from the regular banana). Saludos
Did Luxor buffet once and didn't have any complaints. But then I ate mostly breakfast 🥞 food and didn't do dessert. Omelette station was terrific. No buffet anywhere blows me away, regardless of price. They are mostly cheap food. But I love finding excellent food at excellent prices. You get what you pay for @ Luxor. Purpose of buffets is to eat as much as you can. It's quantity over quality. So stick with food that doesn't require much skill to cook like eggs, sausage and bacon. That's why breakfast buffets work well for me. Sauces require more skill. If I load up on breakfast I can skip lunch and have a light dinner. Saves me money in Vegas.
Ruby, your expressions on this one said it all before you described anything about the food items. Lol! Thank you for your honest opinion, and for taking one for the team.
Never seen you gag on food before, the dry cupcake😆😆…sounds like the whole buffet was something I would walk past, quickly lol. Thanks for the info 😂🤣.
Last time I stayed at the Wynn in 2018, the buffet was still delicious! Plus we were comped for one buffet each day - didn’t need much more food than that. Haven’t been back since and not sure I will ever be back.
I was wondering about the turkey looked like it was going to be dry. Glad it was good. Thank you for your videos. I cant wait to visit vegas again it will be 20 years since ive been when i go for my 50th bday LOL so happy you do these videos that is how i'm planning my trip.
I laughed out loud when you tried the Swiss roll 😆. I tried the Luxor buffet my first visit to Vegas about 7 years ago and it was decent, the desserts were waaayyyy better then!
From someone who's only had chips and salsa in that hotel all I can say is that maybe was better that way for sure! (Friendly bragging there, no pun intended! Lol!) It's been a long time since I was in Vegas, but it seems to me that Luxor and Excalibur both need a major renovation. Good video, Ruby. Have a great week.
10/10 with the presentation, very well done. Come on though, the cake was so dry it was sucking the moisture out of your mouth! Literally funniest thing I've ever heard about cake
loved your shows, under cooked food really mad me think before I ever eat their again. thank you ( i got sick from under cooked food a few years back )
Get a build your own omelet and some of the carved meats with mashed potatoes and a lot of gravy . It's worth half price if you use the myVegas. The Excalibur next is much better in fact it's the best now of all the MGM hotel buffets. Even better than the Bellagio for the money. myVegas 2 for one makes it even better. Stay away from the MGM or the Luxor even if you have a 2 for one. Only go to MGM Luxor or Bellagio if you are totally comped. Head to the Excalibur if you have to use your own money.
The expression on your face when you took a bite of that raspberry thing was priceless! I cracked up as you tried to eat it and describe it. Even years ago, the Luxor buffet was mediocre at best. But at these prices it's a hard pass! Great job Ruby, the things you do for us!
Love how real you are. I definitely wouldn’t eat there now that I know what it’s like; there are so many better cheaper options around there- so thank you!
We’re planning a dirty 30 / family vacation to Vegas and really appreciate the review. I can’t lie I won’t ever go to the Luxor again but I still found the review funny and helpful ! 😂
I haven’t stayed at Luxor since the rooms were renovated 5-6 years ago, but the rest of the property has gotten progressively worse over the past decade - the buffet hasn’t been good since they did away with the $39 all-day pass, and Pyramid Café has taken a nosedive quality-wise while prices have skyrocketed to almost Mon Ami Gabi levels.
The $20 trick worked at PH! We were upgraded to connecting suites! Also, favorite place to eat, Nacho Daddy. You should review that one! We went to both locations....stumbled upon it at Fremont Street and learned there was one right by where we were staying at the Miracle Mile! My friends had the nachos and quesadilla and I had the best chicken taco of my life and ordered it both times we went. Friendly staff. It was the best happy accident!
Thanks for taking one for the team. 😂 This is why for buffet, I will only eat at Wynn and Bachanal Buffet. I am however interested in trying out M Resort buffet she posted while back.
This might be your funniest buffet review ever. Cant stop laughing seeing your face eating that Raspberry Cake and dry as safari dessert Red Velvet Cupcake 😂
Dining at any buffet is an art form. I’ve eaten at Luxor buffet numerous times and they have plenty of delicious options to choose from. The salad section is a good place to start. I just skip all the items which obviously are doubtful. It’s $17 so I plan on working a little to find the treasure. Fruit for desert is fine. Skip the sugar laden factory produced sweets. Enjoy!
If a food on a buffet came from a cardboard box and deep fried (most of the buffet hot items), just pass. A majority of the items are frozen, and pre-made, especially the desserts. All the plates of carbs looked really nasty. However, I could get my money's worth on just the salad bar and a few meats. I know you are trying a selection for the viewers. You make great videos!
I’ve never been to the Luxor of all the times I’ve been to Vegas. Seems like there were some redeeming qualities but if you can do it, Caesar’s Bacchanal Buffet is the best in Vegas and a must do!
Ms. Ruby I really like the fact that you love to eat and SO DO I. Then again who doesn’t love to eat. I do have that app and I will make use of the coupon. Thank you for this video.
Hey Ruby! Could you please rate buffets based on the full price, and not based on any discounts you might have? I feel like it would be more useful since not everyone is a My Vegas user. Thanks, love your videos!
We were at Paradise Island in the Bahamas 20 years ago and they had a $46 buffet that we were shocked about the price but now $39 seems pretty normal for a vacation buffet.
Only a few years ago 2016~17 Vegas buffets were at least good and a lot were great, and a few were amazing. Today most are cafeteria quality at best, and the remaining amazing ones are just too expensive.
