I don't get how something van win "best adapted screenplay" but can lose in best direction and best picture, they're essentially the same damn thing 😂 Best adapted screenplay and best direction should at least be one category and best picture it's own, since best picture coukd just be the most impactful film of the year
Agreed! just untimely that her "Marriage Story" co-star Laura Dern happened to be nominated too and eventually won the award. Laura was spectacular! I love Scarlett in Marriage Story, but imo her performance here in Jojo Rabbit was on another level. She's one of a kind
For as long as I could remember, I’ve always heard people going on and on about how hot they thought Scarlett was. I never fully understood until I saw her in this role, and now I’m absolutely in love.

In her Suburb, every fortnight, at the Hotel (Kastruplundsgade) which the Wehmacht had taken over, they brought in these constant waves of new wounded German soldiers - from the east front; the great Moloch of almost four full years. Even though the wounded soldiers were missing half the faces, arms, legs, hands and so forth, they all kept singing these beautiful German tunes. Their morale were still high. This to the very end of the war.
This movie fucked me up ... that ONE scene made me break and when i first saw this it was in a movie theatre so I had to hold back my tears and just sobbed and sniffled quietly while the people next to me glanced over haha

Well, Scarlett is a so-so actress, you could say she's useless, it's best for her to portray some kind of flirtation and the image of an ideal girlfriend - here she doesn't need to show acting talent - she always looks natural in this image, without any pretense.
