I’ve had aluminum, CC G10, and plain LEGO G10 and my favorite by far is the plain LEGO G10 side with flames pattern lock side. The flames lock side helps give it more tackiness which helps with grip. I would love that RWL-34 SNG with that grind though

Strider knives are either hot or miss for people. I’ll say, there really aren’t any knives like it on the market. USA made frame lock folder on washers with opening hole, large forward choil, and just the design as a whole. Not to mention, they have the absolute best warranty in the business. $25 and you’ll have your knife back in 2 weeks.
The beauty of these knives is in their heat treat. In my experience. They do one of the beat heat treats in the game. But then again, they are very much a “tool” knife. It’s not a bearing fidget toy like my Arius
I agree with this comment 100% too. These are tools for military.
The lock stick is intentional and yes, they break in beautifully. As far as the aggressive grip... these were designed for people who wear tactical gloves as a real profession (your imagination as to what that is would be correct). The rest of us are just fanboys of the history and intended use that buy these knives. Nicely done!

Lock stick when it's really bad is usually a sign of poor geometry.
I've always liked stryder. Hard to get up here in Canada. It sounds like they are roughly made like Emersons.
Never held one with the gunner grip but I love my regular G10 SMF. You are right the ergos are like no other. It is cool you have options.
I finally have my first Strider coming, an SMF. My intention with my Strider is to have a hard use, harsh environment folder on standby. It’s not a fluff knife, and I have a few.
The SMF I’m getting has the same scales, except aluminum. I’m ok with that. Harsh environment.
Am I a Strider fanboi? I dunno. I do know the knife will stand up to what ever I throw at it.

It has that `working functionality‘ aesthetic and that’s the pivotal argument to the knife that it has to be functional, as well as pleasing to the eye. I’m sure that it’s just a few teething problems that could be ironed out in future models. This is coming from someone who has never really handled many striders but realise that `this one‘ has a way to go before I could consider picking one up. As always, great vid Jake 😄👍

@@MrPocketfullOfSteel used it for a couple weeks, but someone in the strider group really wanted it. Put that profit towards a CRK Impofu. I’ll have another in the future

Would be perfect as my work knife. I’m a cabinet maker. I use hinderers currently with the Teflon washers installed.
I’m a cabinet maker too. Wood glue isn’t kind to stainless blades. I also feel like I don’t make enough money to even use my Spydercos. Lol
Huge fan of Striders, but of the G10 variants. Not a fan of the aluminum scale models. Correct, hybrids are lego lock side and thin/radiused or thin and radiused on the show side.

The only folder I’ve ever owned/seen that works well with firefighter structure gloves.
I’ve never held a Strider Jake. That one looks like it has a whole bunch of places for dirt. I do like the finish on the blade, whatever it might be. Thanks for an honest review.
Nice thing about that dirt, is you can run the knife under hot water. It’s not going to rust.
Gotta come back here for an Update: the Protech SnG is just nuts, I carry the Operator as an Main or secondary ever since I got it months ago. The heat treat on their 154cm is top notch, I have used mine for everything and that daily, few licks over the strop and hair popping again. G10 SnG on the way we'll see how they compare 😁👌🏼
Man I love the look of the GG but man it looks like alot of hot spots. I'm waiting for the aluminum handles instead🤙🏽

I found one from I guess the last drop with PSF27 for $575 earlier. These are right around $500 from Strider aren't they? I have wanted one forever just they are so damn hard to get. I do have one of the gen3 PTs and 3 of the Protech SnGs all micarta exclusives or ones with Gcarta. The one I found is the gunner grip flamed titanium and PSF27 tiger striped blade
Some of your viewers (like me) have no idea about people being against strider, or strider culture, or whatever. If it can be done without judgment, I think it is worthwhile to explain what those complaints are. I think eugene kwon does a good job of explaining what would be considered controversial or negative opinions out in the community while still being objective and educational as opposed to judgmental.
strider has been accused of stolen valor. Most of the claims have been substantiated
Fair point! If I end up doing another strider video I’ll probably address it, a lot of it has more to do with the people than the knives, which is why I’m hesitant to discuss it an ruffle feathers lol

Hey Jake, any chance of an update video on the knives you’ve reviewed, kept/sold off? Like the quiet carry waypoint, bradford guardian, bugout etc etc?
I do collection updates every so often, I feel like that pretty well covers which have stayed and which haven’t, I’ll probably do another collection update before the end of the year 👍🏻
Most of those who get worked up on strider controversial statements and reputation never even tried to get into the military.. that’s all I gotta say on that lol

Mick lied about his mil-career and his discharge and charges. He manufactured his backstory. He was a Private and never saw action, nor did he work with SOCOM. Anyway, zero fvcks given as I love the knives.
Also I might add the SnG is named after two fallen Ranger BN Snipers... who were awarded the MOH for actions conducted during Operation Gothic Serpent. Shughart & Gordon.
