Calling all those people Who think that this aircraft Is a747-300: Nope! PH-BUK Is a 747-206 S.U.D. equipped with a Stretched Upper Deck. So Is a -200 series but with Upper Deck that Will be mounted on future 747-300, 747-400 and...747-8, this last one even more... Stretched!!! 😂
My father was a KLM Captain on the B747 and I joined him on his last flight in 1982, and it was with this aircaft. Sometimes I go to the Aviodome saying...... how are you doing mate, good to see you.
Das war auch äußerst unklug ohne Freigabe starten zu wollen , mit dem Hintergrund auch nicht zu wissen ob und wo sich die Pan Am 747 befindet , und dann im blindflug
People who have never flown on 747's should watch this. The space, comfort, roominess.Compared to the sardine can twinjets so prevalent today.!.The "Queen of the Skies".What a legacy.
I still remember the trips from Buenos Aires to Amsterdam in the 90s, the very well dressed people, stainless steel cutlery in the tourist class, great comfort when traveling, today everything has gone to hell.
I flew on this plane once: PH-BUK Louis Bleriot KL838 Singapore-Kuwait-Amsterdam, 26/27 November 1988. The captain on the first sector, according to a sign in the cabin, was a Captain de Moor. My first flight with KLM, only flight on a 747 Combi and -200 extended upper deck, and only visit to Kuwait (which, I remember, had a very smooth runway, at least until it was bombed just over a year later). Seeing the plane as a museum exhibit, and knowing that it's been in the museum for quite a few years, makes me feel old.
A nice touch with the matching KLM fuel truck, the Volvo F7 Intercooler at 3:06. The Volvo F7 received the International Truck of the Year award in 1979.
My father flew with this PH-BUK to the US as a passenger on a business trip. Years later, my brother started his career at KLM as a coco/co on the exact same PH-BUK after he left the royal Dutch airforce. It was running in the family so to speak, though not at the same time. Gosh , he hated the fact that both the captain and flight engineer smoked at the flightdeck.
Great to see such an iconic Plane in the 747 used as a museum & not flown to planes breakers such as in the Cotswolds & St Athan in Wales. KLM such a well known Dutch National airline.
My family and I flew on a Boeing 747 KLM flight from Doha airport in Qatar - the old Doha airport not Hamad to Dammann in Saudi Arabia on route to Amsterdam Schiphol airport before catching our connection to Edinburgh in December 1987. It was a lovely big plane and we almost had it to ourselves. One of the funny things about the old Doha airport runway was that it was planned in kilometres (the length of it) but when it came to being built it was built in MILES!! So, a nice big long runway for a KLM Jumbo Jet!😜🤣
And how times have changed over many decades.Observe the very comfortable seats and the marvellous legroom even in economy.Of course flying was a totally different experience back then.So glad to have those memories of flying around the world on the "Queen of the Skies".It was another world back in the 80's and 90's.!.
First time I ever flew on a 747 was a 747-200 in 1994 from London Heathrow to San Francisco. It was a bit of an old banger even then and I remember we used up the whole runway before takeoff like every last inch. 😂 Never forget it, can’t Believe it was 30 years ago.
Flew from the UK to Australia (and back) Summer of 1997. Only time I was on one, but they are simply vast aeroplanes. Shame they're mostly now only used for cargo.
Nice to see her again. There’s another one close by in the village of Hoofddorp at Corendon’s hotel / office building. It’s in a real odd spot just besides the building and highway. Decal is not original. 😄
Sorry KLM was the only operator who used the B747-200? False . Minerve, Air France, TWA, Corsair and others also used B747-200...Moreover the KLM PH-BUK was a B747-300 , not 200. So you wrong.
I have to disagree with you there, PH-BUK isn’t a 747-300 it’s a 747-200(M) (SUD) and I was saying that KLM was the only operator of the aircraft, the aircraft being PH-BUK Thanks for watching 👀
@Jordan_Aviation196 you can be disagree, but you wrong... the facts are the facts. Do your research better than that. not only is klm not the only operator of the B747-200 but the PH-BUK is a 747-300 not a 747-200. What you are doing is disinformation.
@Jordan_Aviation196 You may disagree with me but facts are facts. Not only is klm not the only operator of the B747-200 but the ph-buk is a 747-300 not a 747-200. It was certainly built as a B747-200 but it was converted into a B747-300. What you are doing is disinformation. Do your research better than that. Otherwise, thanks for the video.

This is the airport that there has been some talk of developing so that better use may be made of it in a bid to relieve Amsterdam Schiphol of some pressure. Lelystad.
Yes they did. Somewhere end of 90’s. Updated flight deck to more of a glass flight deck, new side wall panels, bigger lugage bins, new lavatories.. All to get closer to -400
@Jordan_Aviation196 Am Y Crasy?... How Can I know the answer... I WAS SÈRIOUS, REALLY ! 💓💓💓 (Sorry...I'm French...BUT ... I HATE "Emmanuel Macron" 💩) Many Thanks for your "like"🙏

Very true, I’ll pin it so everyone can see it 😂😂
Thanks for watching
Was this also setup as a combi aircraft with the aft upper section for freight?
Yes of course
My father was a KLM Captain on the B747 and I joined him on his last flight in 1982, and it was with this aircaft. Sometimes I go to the Aviodome saying...... how are you doing mate, good to see you.
That’s brilliant, to have a personal memory of the aircraft that is now being preserved for the younger generations to enjoy, thanks for watching
So your Dad knew JVZ
yes he knew JVZ, as the whole crew who died in the 1977 Tenerife disaster.
He died in the Tenerife disaster in 1977?@@peejee3163
Das war auch äußerst unklug ohne Freigabe starten zu wollen , mit dem Hintergrund auch nicht zu wissen ob und wo sich die Pan Am 747 befindet , und dann im blindflug
I went here and it was a great experience
Cool

Very interesting, I like hearing all the stories about this particular aircraft can tell so many different stories, thanks for watching
Been there many years ago and on that jumbo..even when KLM had 747-300"s..to toronto 😊❤
Good to see this again..thanks😊😊
My pleasure 😊
Wow what an experience! Thank you
Thank you for watching 👀

amazing
Thank you
Woooooooooooooooow my dream😍😍
THE MUSEUM NEED TO ADD AN APU SOUND EFFECT TO THIS PIECE. IF THERE IS AN AIRBRIDGE YOU NEED TO MAKE IT SOUND LIKE IT'S PREPPING FOR DEPARTURE
My dream airlines K L M Boeing 747
This is the airport that there has been some talk of developing so that better use may be made of it in a bid to relieve Amsterdam Schiphol of some pressure.
Lelystad.
Yes, I heard about that, thanks for watching 👀
I wonder if this was ordered as a replacement for Rijn which was destroyed at Tenerife
Hmm maybe, I don’t know it might be worth looking into, thanks for watching
Was that still in operation? It's like flying with it. Would it be nice?
No it’s not in operation anymore, yes the flying the 747 is nice, thanks for watching
@Jordan_Aviation196 It looks good
is there an apu sound/background electrical noises in the video for this museum aircraft? i think so actually
There might be yes, providing electricity ⚡️
This is in Netherlands and i am from Netherlands
ik ook
Nice, thanks for watching
It's official listing Boeing 747-206B(M)(SUD)
That’s correct
Boeing 747-200 SUD (Cubierta superior alargada) A petición de KLM
Yes, it’s very interesting, thanks for watching
KLM and UTA were the only ones with the -200 SUD in Europe.
Es enorme ese b747
Yes the B747-8 is huge, it’s the second largest passenger aircraft in the world after the Airbus A380, thanks for watching
Ni me quiero imaginar los gigante que es el a380 por dios🙀🙀🙀
sad to say evertime i see a klm 747 200 i think of the tennerife disaster
Did they replace the original overhead bins and window panels?
Yes, I believe they did, I am not 100% sure
Thanks for watching
Yes they did. Somewhere end of 90’s. Updated flight deck to more of a glass flight deck, new side wall panels, bigger lugage bins, new lavatories.. All to get closer to -400
More than likely I built that 747 in the Everett factory in the 1989..
Interesting, thank you for building such a beautiful aircraft
❤😂🎉❤
It's kind of sad to know that airplane is never going to fly again. I imagine the last time she touched-down to be parked there.
Yes very sad, thanks for watching
Probably the first non-Van Zaanten operated/trained Klm 747. I'm not sure if this one was already on order or replaced the BUF writeoff.
Kan ze nog vliegen?
I don’t think so
Heb gezien hoe dit vliegtuig naar Lelystad werd getransporteerd, jammer dat het nu zo verwaarloosd wordt,
Yes it sure is, thanks for watching
I worked on this one for some years in maintenance. Must be a corrosion queen by now after 20 years…
Nice one, thanks for watching
effe hogedruk eroverheen ook de hangars op shiphol zelf helemaal onder de mos schande
It sure is, thanks for watching
this voice in video is CZ language ???
I’m not very good with languages, it might be thanks for watching 👀
I drived with that paymover by the klm
How'd you get there without kids running around 😭
I’m not sure, the weather wasn’t that good on the day tbh
I've made over a hundred flights on a 747, damn it, but not this PH BUK.
I have working many years with That aircraft speciaal the puchback
Thanks for watching
Pourquoi ne pas le transformer en Petit Hôtel - Restaurant ?
🤔.
"THE JANBO MOTEL"
That’s a good idea, thanks for watching
@Jordan_Aviation196 Am Y Crasy?... How Can I know the answer... I WAS SÈRIOUS, REALLY ! 💓💓💓
(Sorry...I'm French...BUT ... I HATE "Emmanuel Macron" 💩) Many Thanks for your "like"🙏
I saw you
PH-BUK👍🏻
PH-BUF💀
That give me Tenerife-Flashbacks💀
"Oh look, I'm using 💀 to indicate that I'm down with the kidz."
What oh 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Wait 🛫🛩️💀🗿
Tenerife
747 300 pas 200
This aircraft is a 747-300. The 200’s had a small upper deck.
Some of the 200s got a retrofit and became the 747 SUD. Stretched upper deck. PH-BUK is a Boeing 747 200 type not a 300
This is a 747-200 S.U.D
Yes you are right. I had forgotten about the SUD’s. The SUD’s had a better fuel burn than the 200’s.
Un rottame
Yes
nothing special really...
