This is so calming 😊 The sun, the music, the pelican's backstory, the sea, the wings & the stare.. 😌 Thanks for captured all of it, GoPro 👍👍 Great job!!!!!
I produce Drones for a living. The fact this bird'd first flight was absolutely perfect demonstrates the amazing sophistication of evolution. He knows how to get airspeed, knows how to get lift, knows how to bank, glide, land -- all without a single mistake, on the first flight! Pre-programmed by nature. Amazing! Great video!!
This footage is really cool but what I find especially interesting is the path the bird takes. For a "test flight", I think it's not unlike what I think many of us might have choosen because it stays close to the shore, low to the water, doesn't go far and he goes out then comes right back.
I nearly cried it’s so wonderful for a pelican to know how to fly after he or she lost her family and the best bit is, how the pelican was enjoying itself while it was flying
This made me smile... It's a great way to see how a bird flies, and I think those people did an excellent job. I hope the pelican will be able to survive because on its own...

I'm amazed that whoever recorded this trusted that a random pelican would not only just decide to come back to where it was at first so the person could get their camera back, but also not try to scoop up fish in the water, thus ruining the camera.
Pelican thinking to himself: "I Didn't forget how to fly..its this &^%$ing thing dangling from beak that's throwing me off balance, silly humans" all jokes aside though...beautiful video.
Well, considering they carry several gallons of water in their beaks and can still fly I don't think it hinders them at all :p I know you were joking, though!
What a spectacular thing for a person to witness... wish I could have been a part of it but it's nice to be able to see the moment he (or she) learned to take off and fly. For what it's worth, I find these types of novel moments in our lives to be very inspiring, despite being trivial in the grand scheme of things. I want to learn more and grow more and become better, smarter, and stronger as a person... I want to encounter more of these moments in my life. Whether or not I build a life where I can embark on adventures is one thing (of which I promise to document and share when it happens) but for growing I need your life experiences and opinions. I try to talk about things that are important for us as people, if you find me to be genuine give me a chance I promise not to let you down. That is all, no more no less
a birds eye view would be looking directly down at the ground with our line of vision at a 90 degree angle with the earth's (relative) horizontal. That never happens in this video, so we don't get a birds eye view. We just literally get a view of the two eyes attached to the birds head. Great views I agree, but a birds eye view? c'mon man...

Information: Big bird as they named him was injured in a storm and lost his parents. He was taken in by a animal health car place and they soon discovered he could not fly. When he learned to fly he was not comfortable leaving the facility and stayed. The care takers said "he may stay as long as he like we are happy he is part of our family"

I'm guessing the camera was strapped to the pelican's beak?
Unique footage...
a true #BirdsEye view / #Selfie !
Awesome video, but not sure I like the camera on his beak .. even though it does not seem to bother it.
Awesome.. ***** ..!!
The music fits perfectly with the video
eah, it even pretty much goes with the beats of the wings.
That's what I call a bird's eye view. Incredible footage.
