    Dude thank you so much! You just taught me more about the problem I'm having. I replaced the IPC sensor and it ran like new for one day and just like with yours the next day it was back to normal starving for fuel. I was going to next replace the IPC regulator but now I'm going to find some way to get air into that hose and find out if it's an o-ring on the injector. You're awesome I appreciate your help

    I have an old f250 with a 7.3 I’m no mechanic but I’m listening and you are pointing to the ipr and saying that you changed the solenoid. The only problem is you are calling it the IPC. The ipc looks completely different than the ipr and one of the problems is getting oil in the pig tail again I’m not a mechanic. I’m grateful for all and any help I can get especially you tube videos because the folks making them are helping so many people. They wouldn’t be doing it unless they were passionate about the work. So thank you for making this video.

      Yes Sir! I have been corrected a few times on this fact. It is the IPR (Injection Pressure Regulator) solenoid. I call it the IPC (Injection Pressure Control) solenoid in this video. I have ordered this part many times from different dealers/parts warehouses and the parts guys have called it by either name. I just chose to call it that here in this video. As long as the viewers understand what I'm talking about as far as the solenoid itself that is what matters to me. Thanks for the comment at this point ill try and edit it to read IPR in a caption.
      Not sure what pigtail your taking about, The IPR solenoid coil is a separate coil that wraps around the valve and housing itself. There should be no way of oil getting into that pigtail from the IPR valve itself for that reason. It would have to be getting oil in it from some other source externally.

    Awesome video. I have a smooth start. Smooth idle. Untill I give it some gas. It stars rough idling, sometimes it’ll smooth out on its own. Other times I need to give it throttle and slowly release for it to smooth out. It did it after fuel filter replace. Possible air in system?

    • @marshallsanders5672
      @marshallsanders5672  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes definitely possible but should work itself out. Make sure the filters are tight enough, possible air is being introduced as it’s running. Could have introduced dirt into the system with the filter change. If nothing found may have to do a low pressure fuel test at the port on the filter housing. Just have to work that problem til you find the cause ! Thanks for the Comment! Much Appreciated

    Very good explanation on what components and how this system works. What would be your advise to me having same issues on a scanner but engine hydrolocked?

    • @marshallsanders5672
      @marshallsanders5672  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you have an injector out already ? If so oil /fuel probably leaked down in that particular cylinder when you pulled the injector. A diesel has a very small Quench area because of its high compression nature and it doesn’t take much to hydro lock them. I should have mentioned clearing the cylinder before installing the injector back in the head but I did not.

    • @marshallsanders5672
      @marshallsanders5672  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If not most likely you have the injector “CUPS” themselves leaking fluid down into the cylinder !

    Hey grate video, I have a similar engine the DT530 it's a genset and wont start, I have removed the high pressure oil sender and plugged a gauge in to see, when cranking it reaches 500 psi but no start, I have heard you need 700 psi to start so I'm going to replace the regulator solenoid and see if that helps. I don't have a scan tool, I think my orings must be okay but that was a good idea to pressurise the system with air to check for leaks, I think it also might me the ECM could have died and not firing the injectors??

    • @marshallsanders5672
      @marshallsanders5672  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    great video, I have 2007 international 4300 long cranking and rough idle when start cold, after it warm up for 15 minute, it will be fine. Is that oil leak from the injector o ring will cause that?

    • @marshallsanders5672
      @marshallsanders5672  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is possible ! It’s all about how fast it builds the 500-700 psi to start. Possible drainback in your Reservoir. Wouldn’t hurt to check the low pressure fuel side also 50-60 psi on that.

    Great video. I have a 2013 International workforce 46DT engine. I have changed the ICP, EPR. Now it's building more pressure with no leaks in the system from rail to injectors. The only problem is I have a leak from pump to engine, is this normal? Meaning it's not maintaining pressure in the hose/gage itself. Hope you can answer this or help me out. Thanks

    • @marshallsanders5672
      @marshallsanders5672  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes from all the trucks I’ve checked when you shut the engine down the pressure will drop. Usually it will have some residual pressure say 50 psi but eventually after a few minutes it drops to virtually 0 psi.

    • @lisbrenda
      @lisbrenda ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your response. I'm having problems with it starting up. My gage it's going up to 1000 psi when cranking engine and drops pressure right away without any residual pressure. I have blown air into the high-pressure pump going in the direction of the engine and can hear the air bubbling the oil in it. My dought is if it could be any check valve in to the high-pressure pump or gear shaft seal not holding enough pressure?

    • @marshallsanders5672
      @marshallsanders5672  ปีที่แล้ว

      It would seem to me that even if there is excessive leakage when you shut it down it should still start fine if it’s building to 1000 psi when cranking as far as the high pressure oil system goes!

  • @albertmendoza4050

    • @marshallsanders5672
      @marshallsanders5672  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok gotcha that makes sense. Well not the high pressure oil system. Might not be getting low pressure fuel 50-60 psi from the mechanical pump on the side of the high pressure pump. Or injectors aren’t firing by the computer. Check for codes could be a cam sensor related problem computer not seeing RPM
