Eddie for real local Cape Malay food please go to the Bo-Kaap Kombuis in Bo-Kaap neighbourhood. The recipes from the original slave quarter of the Cape so the food is steeped in history. The family cook the food in their kitchen but there is a proper dining area with stunning views across the city .
You can get chips from Anat. there is one in Canal Walk and one in the V&A by the KFC. Salt, vineyard and what we call “slap” chips aka hand cut chips not French fries. Deeelic!
We love you Eddie, hope your doing well, the food in Cape Town looks amazing, i still remember the days when you used to come on livestream and have that horn with you, i miss them days, its a shame you wont be coming back to cali now, as i been planning to go there and wanted to meet you there since you inspired me, hope you have an amazing time, you are the true OG of cape town 😄
Avo is Avocado. Some parts of South Africa it grows wild. Like in Rustenburg. So it's very popular in South Africa. That pap you are eating, usually goes better with Chakalaka( a spicy vegetable relish, most often made from cabbage, beans, tomatoes, onions, and garlic. Some version include corn or butternut). The lady telling you that you can't buy chips alone was up selling you. Every food place in South Africa you can buy chips separately.
Gotta get a Gatsby while in Cape Town a veggie one might not be the best or easiest to find but for all the meat loving Americans thats the one with a bottle of Jive Drink
We gotta see you in the hood too though fam 😊 Also … the first joint you was at is called Jarryds (according to the waitrons apron) … in the video you calling it Jarrdys 😅
Doing good showcasing Africa coz am sick ad tired if silly questions i receive in usa like do u live on trees in Africa, how did you arrive do u have airports yet i live better than them here in Africa keep up the good work
I'm following your channel bro. The flowers are edible - called Nasturtiums (English name) or Kapkappertjies (Afrikaans name). Pap is supposed to be eaten with a spoon bro.
Hi everyone, I just wanted to remind you that there’s life after death and the only way to that life is through Jesus Christ - So I want to encourage you all to get to know JESUS while you’re still here, breathing❗️ - Seek Him with all your heart and have a relationship with Him… - He already went through hell for us so that we can make Heaven our home - Hell wasn’t made for us humans… it was made for satan and his demons, so Jesus Christ made a way for us to not go to hell by Him dying on the Cross for our sins - taking our place and us His - So I beg each and everyone of you to know Jesus Christ our Lord & Saviour🙏🏿 - Lastly: Repent of your sins and ask God for forgiveness … I love you all and I pray that each and everyone of you get to know Jesus Christ and may have an encounter with Him. Stay blessed family❤️.
I’m sure that guy was pissed to get R18 tip from American accent 😂😂..!!SA waitors have the American attitude on tipping culture ,u tip them medium you see attitude as u leave .!!
Bruh.... Jardy's?? It's Jarryd's... as in JARREDS....😑 I've been watching all your vids in Cape Town so far... I'm just curious as to how much of research you've put into things like where to stay, places to visit, etc before you actually came through... I'm in Durban, South Africa, which is on the East Coast, and even a visit for me to Cape Town always heralds something new and unique... Sure, there are some dodgy areas, like the townships, etc, but that, as you've said in the past, coming from LA, is predominant all over the world... Cape Town is structured towards tourism, and when you go to the key destinations like Table Mountain, etc... you'll see that. Also, having a budget of $50 (roughly R900) and starting off in a place like that... isn't really the smartest choice! When in Cape Town, you need to have a Gatsby, and of course, the seafood... The V&A Waterfront has some great seafood restaurants there, but I would suggest a visit to Fish on the Rocks in Hout Bay for some proper stuff. A suggestion would also be to set a couple days aside and maybe do the "hop-on-hop-off" tour with the red buses (you'll see them all over the CBD), its the cheapest way to see alot of Cape Town, and the narration on the trip also teaches you alot of the history... Would also make a great vlog!
Remember Eddie is not a tourist and he isn’t always keen on touristy activities, hence even in Joburg he went to Edenvale. When he goes to a place he likes to be in areas where residents live and really normal everyday people’s lives.
No no no. You don’t eat bunny chow in Cape Town. Cape Town is known for its Malay community therefore it would have been better to try some Malay food, since the iconic food of Cape Town is fish and chips, but you’re vegetarian. Please go to Durban on the east coast for bunny chow as it originated in the South African Indian community in Durban. Also, you will love the vegetarian Indian food! Safe travels!
@@mayibongwekhumalo2344 Even though he chose himself, but as a foreigner he might need some advise so he feel the best of it, he doesn't know how to combine it with. I believe the burger has meat in it.
… Can’t believe I’m all up in these comments like this, but I gotta stress the pronunciation of “pap” … it ain’t PAP like a Pap smear 😅 The “ap” is pronounced like the word “up ⬆️” and the first “P” is kinda breathless … as in, try not to exhale on it.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” • Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and life… no one will get to Heaven except through Him❗️ • Seek Jesus before it’s too late, and believe in your hearts that He is God & was raised from the dead in 3 days • I love you all and I pray that each and everyone of you get to know Jesus Christ and may have an encounter with Him. Stay blessed family❤️.
We are not big on pre-made food. The fresher the food, the healthier. Restaurants in SA, usually make the food from scratch.

I still can’t get over the pap and a burger 😂
😂😂😂
The "R" in the currency goes in the front of the amount same as any other currency
Since you in Cape Town, you must try a Gatsby. I would recommend Mariams in the CBD. Its similar to a Poboy in New Orleans
That's the fanciest French Toast I've ever seen. It looks delicious 😋😋😋

Avio. Learning how to read would help as well.
@glaubs65 subtitles said avo. I'm deaf A-hole. And what is Avio? The only thing I know of that's called Avio is an Aerospace company.
You were overlooking Sea Point Beach while standing on the Sea Point Promenade and Sea Point Beach is along the Atlantic Ocean
Welcome to Cape Town … hope you are enjoying yourself ❤

If you want good chips in SA, go to Steers or some random corner shop. Two very different kinds of chips but great
I never known that’s Cape Town SA overlooking the Atlantic Ocean .

It's the Atlantic ocean. Very beautiful but very cold.
You go to a place that presents french toast like that you know you're being overcharged.
Bro Nando's is a take out place though 😅 we do not consider Nando's being a restaurant per say, like KFC brah
I'm following your channel bro. The flowers are edible - called Nasturtiums (English name) or Kapkappertjies (Afrikaans name). Pap is supposed to be eaten with a spoon bro.
$50 = about R1000. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack. No problem.

Thing I don't like about eastern food bazaar is that the people behind the counter seems sometimes very unhelpful.
That’s what you get when you don’t compensate your employees properly
@@tokelomothapo6510 True.Although I can't speak for eastern Food Bazaar.
That's what you get for employing cheap foreign labour. 😮
you can eat out 3 meals a day with 50 in usa
Eating a bunny in Capetown is the equivalent of having a deep dish pizza in Miami

"Most ppl don't know about it" ... Nando's 😂
Are you relocating?
Oh my God … homie looking for a bunny chow in Cape Town instead of a Gatsby 😭 … Durban is where you’ll find the best Bunny Chows #OnGod
Who ever gave you pap and burger did you dirty. You eat it with beef stew or chicken.
He chose it himself, also he's vegan he doesn't eat meat.

Can't understand why people don't eat meat by choice 😢i understand if you allergic meat in SA is soo good
Bro that’s ice cream for about 5$ it’s even more expensive than US lol !
The influx of tourists in Cape Town made the city more expensive.
Do you prefer Cape Town or Joburg?
I Would recommend trying a Gatsby but then again, You're Vegan right? You wont find a vegan Gatsby
