With your help, I received a B in organic chemistry 1 last semester (sadly, I discovered your videos only after failing my first two exams...better late than never though!)
Now I am in organic chemistry 2 and I recently got a 91% on my first ochem 2 exam!! Hoping for an overall grade of an A this semester now that I know about your channel because I can confidently say that I could not have done it with out your videos! Thank you SO much for making these, they are much appreciated! 🤍

This was helpful, but for S02, shouldn't the bond between the left oxygen and sulfur be a double bond? Why add the 2 remaining to the oxygen when you put it in another bond, giving it 1, accomplishing the limit of 6 for sulfur and 6 for oxygen. With the 2 electrons in oxygen, that gives it 6, but leaves the sulfur only having 5. In order to share the electron, you put a double bond between the sulfur and oxygen because oxygen has double bonds and it completes sulfur's reacquired 6 electrons.

If you watch the video again, around 9:15, I do explain that SO2 has a resonance form in which both oxygens are double bound to the central sulfur atom. Since sulfur can be an exception to the octet rule, this is also a valid Lewis structure.
