i had the same zx6r.... 2019, same exact one.... having ridden a gsxr750, an r6, and a honda cbr 600 i dont think people realize just how special the zx6r is... It just simply does not feel like it has the same limitations as those other 600's... My zx6r felt really fast, it felt more like a 750 then it did a 600. It just blows my mind what Kawasaki was able to do with that 636 motor... It truly feels more powerful then it should... best 600, hands down... fantastic Showa suspension, and somehow those NISSIN calipers seem to work just as good as bremobs... Kawi really knocked it out of the park with this piece of kit!!
Thanks for the update Mark, have about 900 miles on my ‘19, loving it as well. Recently changed out the rubber valves for metal, using a TPM system for added safety.

Great review Mark, did I detect maybe a hint at a possible sports tourer in a year or so. When you trade the 636 in. I love my 1000sx 2020 performance tourer by the way. Just clicked over 1000 miles.

Hi mark amazing review great attention to detail... just a quick question im a total newb and i want to get the zx6r or the z900 i know they are conpletely different bikes which one would you recommend also i am 30 mature and very sensible lol
Hi I'd go for the z900 as a first bike You'll find the riding position much more learner friendly for your first couple of years to develop your skills ...the z650 Is probably a better bet sensible head but as long as you take it steady the z900 should be fine Good luck with your riding career Best regards mark
I love the bike but at 6’5” 250 lbs and 66 yrs I can’t be comfortable. If they made one with a sport level bars I’d have one. The motor is awesome !! Thnx as always !!
mark pulling you wouldn’t be worried by going to the 1000 that you would lose some of the fun on the road with a litre bike? I imagine with the 636 you can open it up and not be going crazy speed
@@theincrediblesulk5543 yes good point I've considered that alot ...I'll see how things go ...I do still enjoy half opening up 1000cc bikes on the road and just enjoying their bulging mid-range ...I never go that fast anyway ...I need my license too much but after reviewing the ninja 1000 it's just a dream to ride !! Hi Mark If you do want to change the screen I would definitely recommend the powerbronze one that I got, Sussex based company great to deal with and a great fit. I got the dark tint and it looks fab 👍
Hi Mark. Thanks for the review. Huge fan.👍🏼👏🏼I have a question. What is the difference between KRT edition and the normal one? I am trying to buy one with low mileage, no luck yet. So can you tell me apart from colour what else is different between these two models? Thanks pal .
Hi Mark, great review. I have a 2002 ZX9R and have been pondering updating it to one of the latest sports bikes. I don’t think I need a litre 200 bhp bike, and I like the look of this. I’m 6 foot tall, do you think I’d be comfortable on it? I live near a Ducati dealer so I’m also tempted to try a Panigale V2, have you tried one of those?
Hi David you'd be fine at 6ft on this ..it's reasonably comfy for a sports bike...yes I've done 100 Mile's on a panigale 899 and tbh it's about the same comfort as my ninja ...it had a nice bar position as I recall :)
hello! have you also test driven an R6 before getting the Ninja? The zx6r is also my favorite, but to avoid regrets, I also wanna test ride an R6, but easier said than done cause there aint none in my area, only complete new ones where the dealer refuse to provide test rides. Kinda stuck between just getting the zx6r now or wait until I get my R6 test ride some time in the future
Hi I've ridden a few cbr600rr s. They handle amazing....build quality is first class ...not quite got the power and torque of the 636..but still a great second hand buy Cheers mark
Yeah new 636 is rly great, got about 1000miles on it. One thing i noticed though is that the quickshifter sometimes rly jerks you forward pretty good, especially in 1. to 2. gear. Is that something you have on yours aswell or is this something i could get fixed? Not that big of a deal though, but still annoying at times :)
Hi yes mine is exactly the same it's nothing wrong at all ...it's just that most quick shifters work best say 3-4 4-5 etc ..I don't tend to qs between 1 and 2 unless very gentle on the throttle All the best mark

Hi Mark. Thanks again for the amazing review. I have a question. In your openion which bike is more suitable as a first bike between kawasaki zx6r and suzuki GSX S1000?
Hi I wouldn't really recommend either as a first bike ( doing my sensible thing on TH-cam now ) as they are both super fast and powerful 150+ mph ..but if you do you may get on better with the gsx because of it's riding position ,the zx636i is pure racer position which can be tricky when you are learning to ride ....other options would be ninjja 650 z650 sv 650 mt07 ....but as long as you go steady for the first few months and build up your skills you should be fine Good luck with your biking career 👍 Cheers mark

Does this put a smile on your face? Why do sport bikes not seem as nimble as the more upright lightweight bikes with a wider handle bar?
