Great video needed to know how to reset the oil life. Little tip if you crack open the filter and the fill cap first you can have it drain more efficiently
hey man i’ve got a couple questions. i saw you remove the tiny gasket on the filter, did you put a new one on?? what’s the part# for it? also, i believe the oil filter is supposed to come off first because it’s basically a vacuum and allows for oil to drain into the drain pan. do you really need to put new oil in the oil filter?? because i’m pretty sure with that thing open you’re pretty much just draining brand new oil back into the drain… i’m probably wrong tho would love to hear your opinion. great video regardless
I put the new small gasket on. It comes in the kit, I’m not sure the part number. And I just put some in the oil filter to help push out the old oil. Then I put the drain plug back and add oil. Maybe it sounds silly but it just makes me feel better haha.
It's a good idea to open all the oil system "airways" before draining - filler cap, dipstick, and filter receiver, all removed.
Air in = oil out :)
Good tip
Love the ZHP content man!
It is great to see you enjoy your car!
There are actually 2 small green O rings on the cartridge housing. The second one is about an inch below the one you replaced.
Hold bottle sideways So it doesn’t glug

Have you thought about using oil additives on oil changes? some people swear by it
Your cars engine bay Is so clean, wish mine were the same, kinda scared to wash the engine and mess it up

What convinced you to use liquid molly? I have been a mobile one guy lately. Thinking about amsoil.
Liqui Moly and Castrol seem to be the go-to choices for BMW. To be honest I also just follow what others have used for extended periods of time.
That's funny, I despise driving onto ramps. It's a sketch feeling and I have driven over them once lol
