Performing a great automotive detail takes time! The work you did to your BMW was worth it as it looks fabulous! Congratulations on your outstanding effort.
This video came up in my recommendations again. Glad to see it as I'm excited and dreading doing this on my car but seeing you don't gives me motivation.
First off, looks great. When detailing a car, there is only the condition of the car to begin with, what you want to achieve and how much work you're willing to put in to get there. If it took you 40 hours to get the result you wanted, then 40 hours is exactly how long it takes. Who cares what anyone else thinks. Good job.
I did this to two newer Bmw:s and i put in about 30 hours each, including full detail of interior, doing everything you've done including the glass and the door jams. Got really happy with the result and you can definietly do this by yourself!
Not surprised at all with 40 hours. I did a full polish and sealer on my E36 and it took so, so long. No idea how many, but not 40. I did not go as hard as you did though, but none the less the result was something I was very happy with. I think my paint was in better shape to start with or maybe white just hides things a lot better. One thing that surprised me is how important masking or removing trim is! That compound can really do a number on rubber or plastic parts which is such a PITA to fix up afterwards. Taping saves time!
Cover the alternator with a plastic bag and tape it or wrap it well. If you want extra precaution, cover the fuse box and the air intake as well, otherwise just don't shoot high pressure water at them.
People are shocked when I tell them the time it takes to do it right. I couldn’t drive my Cayenne for over a week. The paint was a mess when I got it. The results were awesome. You kinda forgot to mention that the car then should sit in a climate controlled garage for at least 24 hours after ceramic coating to “cure”

Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate these videos. Keep it up!
Wether detailing is a diy or a business perfection is what we all looking to achieve.
As a fellow ZHP owner and detailer, I approve.
hah thanks!
Looks great!
Really wish I had the stuff to do this on my imola zhp. Paint is in the same condition as yours was.
Does brake dust stick to the wheels less with a sealing coating on the wheel paint?
Compounding is the most stressful thing for me in detailing especially because I did it just for my cars. it takes easily the whole day like you said.
It is so worth it! Great job on the car and the video!
What about wearing a mask for the compounding? Does the compound not create dust that can be inhaled? Is it required / reccomended?
Nice job, that e46 looks great! Once you have the inside done show us a walk around video plz!!
How much did you buy yours for? do you think what you paid is a good deal or no?
Bro, you can wash the whole engine bay like that uncovered? I need to clean mine but was always worried about water getting in the wrong places.

Nice. You should epoxy paint the garage floor maybe???
Do you listen to music or podcasts when you do your detailing work?
If you ever want to sell the ZHP id be a buyer!
Nice Video 😍🔥
And nice color😍🔥🔥 i have the same but an 318d😩
Black Grill locks a lot better as the Chrome one
Is my opinion.
It’s easy. Well done.
